I'm not really sure that that is what the current polls show. Most evidence I've seen is that we would be heading to another hung parliament, quite possibly where the Tories remain the largest party. The make up of the HoC under current polling could also quite possibly be ungovernable, given how the public and party members of SNP/Lib Dems etc might react to any coalition agreements. PR can't come quick enough. On Labour, I just can not see them winning majority without some major changes in their voteshare distribution. They've made zero progress in Scotland, and are going backwards in many of the towns the Tories advanced in in 2017. They've also maxed out the urban cosmopolitan areas. Having said that, the opinion poll shifts to the smaller parties the last few months is very interesting. YouGov today had LabCon on only 63%... sands may be changing. Ultimately depends on how the Tories do as well, and there are many areas of the country where they are doing very badly right now (One Nation souther middle class types).

Quite true, looking back at the results we haven't had a decent clear one against them since 3-0 in 2003... they have had 4-1 twice against us in the interim.
-
To be honest, on the Pompey front, it's a bit boring how bad they are doing now and we haven't played them in years. Wouldn't mind them having a run of it, if only so we get to play and trounce them again. We haven't played them in 7 years!
-
Same story as last year so far. No bloody goals at all. Everton looks miles ahead of us. Will be intersting to see how we compete against more obvious bottom half teams.
-
Seems to be a very classic saints situation. We did not exactly look awful, but neither did we look that great. And crucially, we can't bloody score whatsoever! Early days in the season though...
-
We'll be stuffed. There's no teamwork in Saints at the moment. Just individuals kicking the ball around - we have our very occasional moments, but unless we become a team, it's difficult. Probably more difficult when we have trouble in the dressing room with VVD, players moving all over and a manager unable to stamp their authority? I'll worry more about Crystal Palace result, but a team performance here at least needed.

Individually, I think we have a competent enough team. An extra defender and adventurous midfielder would be nice. Our problem seems to be that there is no team though, just a collective of players. So something that solves that.
-
Good. Let's make a stand and try to change the way we do things a bit. Our team chops and changes so much since promotion. It'd be nice to watch a team grow a bit again like in the promotion years. Unlikely in today's game, but it'd be nice. Our longest serving player is a 22 year old! And there's very few who've been consistently around for a number of years except him.

I have liked the sensible, sustainable investment of the Liebherr's. Nothing too flashy either - we grew in a way we could maintain. Hopefully, these new investors are the same.
-
I very much enjoyed the Liebherr era from an ownership perspective. Sensible, sustainable investment and development. No idea what the new owners will be like, hope they do not stray from this approach.

Quite clearly the club didn't do all that they could. Quite clearly the FA didn't. Quite clearly people and society didn't. As more and more comes out, it seems obvious there were systematic failings to protect children in all institutions where they interacted with in the 80's. It's a complete disgrace. I'm glad there are more and suitable safeguards in place now, but the question has to be how did we as a society let this go on for so long?
-
Really? I'd be surprised. These are pretty seasoned professionals? Would be surprised if the crowd made too much/any difference to their performance levels - regardless of what we like to tell ourselves.

It was good to get down to a match as I haven't been able to see as many live as I used to, so it was nice to be back in that sense. Shame about the result. Chelsea were just too good - very effective side who scored two early goals in each half and then shut us down. Yes, we had the possession and the ball, but they closed us quickly and didn't enable us to do much with it. It wasn't the funnest game to watch, but Chelsea were very effective in their plan. We'll have better games and more chances going forward. I didn't think we looked terrible at all - so I'm very confident of a top half finish once more. Looking forward to Thursday and Inter now!

This gives a decent idea of what points tally may lead to what position... http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Southampton.html

Make our own rules perhaps, but with the agreement of other countries that will take some time. There is no Britain alone in the world, it's a globalised system and we aren't apart from that. I expect it will take a decade or so before a new normal is established, but in the meantime there would be a lot of confusion and uncertainty.

Yes, Chelsea had an abysmal start this year, but 6th isn't off the cards for them. Last time they finished 6th, they did the cup double, so no need to write them off just yet!
-
Momentum matters and Chelsea feel like they are back on right now. But they do need to guarantee Europe of some kind for them next year. Best route for that is win in the cup for Europa (which would at least give them something next year), but really I would imagine they have their sights on the Champions league. Regardless, now Chelsea have sorted out their problem, they have more than enough depth to have a decent late chase for the Europa League in the PL and still get at the CL.

Post-Match Reaction: Swansea City 0-1 SAINTS

And 6th placed guaranteed till next time round! None of the games in hand-ers can catch us. 5th place and direct to Europa without fuss would be very nice indeed -
Neither do iPhones generally. But it is still good to know when it does, there isn't the fuss and there is easy access to personalised help. Either way, I don't get the animosity here. It's ultimately personal choice, and people can pick either way and that is fine. I do not understand why for example android owners act the way they do sometimes - I've had both android and apple and they are both good, but in different ways.
-
My experience of apple is that yes, it is expensive, but you do get what you pay for. In terms of my mac and my iPhone, I've always had excellent customer care with few questions involved. Including full replacement of phones etc.

Now there's 21 players in our box!

The entire team seems to be in the box!

This is so so tense.

The Kelvin davis one at 91.89% is a bit lower than Forster's 92.89, but a quick z test shows the difference isn't statistically significant! Alas, it must be a draw for now.
