Why are so many clubs so excited about coming to play us? :S I can maybe just about understand Bournemouth singing it, but Sheffield Wednesday?!
-
Ed Balls has a pretty solid majority, I don't understand the fuss surrounding him and his seat, have there been boundary changes?
-
I think as a team and supporters, we are already looking to next season. This probably a bad thing I guess, but oh well, I forgot we were playing today :/
-
I think Clegg still might come through though, Lib Dem tax policy is much more simple and easy to understand.
-
It isn't a hike at all, it's necessary. The only other option is a raise in VAT which will be much worse. It comes as no surprise to me that business' are against this, of course they would be. Tax rises will come, we have a massive deficit. And the Tories are still raising it you know... just by not as much, the whole thing is a gimic! I'm a member of the Liberal Democrats by the way, so I don't say Gordon Brown is doing the best so far tonight lightly.
-
Brown sounds by fair the best so far, actually sounds passionate and sounds like he knows what he is talking about. His policy he has said has also been detailed and too the point.

Cameron really doesn't like China.

I knew him and Mandy had something going on!

Yes, but remember that the principle of referenda are literally inbuilt into the Liberal Democrat party, they are the only fully democratic party of the main 3 where all members have equal sway in who is the leader and so on... Some say that technically before entering into any formal coalition they would have to ballot all members... so I could have a say in that

To be honest, I don't think League 1 has ever had some many large structured clubs in it at the same time. I'm talking Saints, Millwall, Leeds, Norwich, Charlton. 3 of these will be gone next year leaving us effectively as the big club of the league. Whether this will help or not, I am not sure.

The Lib Dem boost has not come solely from Labour voters, it has come pretty equally from Labour and Conservative voters, as well as a lot of young people with the addition of some people changing from one of the small parties to the Lib Dems.
-
The Lib Dems, like Labour will only join the Euro if conditions are right, and also subject to a referendum.
-
To be fair, if not for the -10 we would have already qualified for the playoffs easily and would be bemoaning these as to why we aren't sitting comfortably at the top of the table.

Clegg mentioned volcano first! Dune, you lost.

By the way, multi member constituencies make sense. I am talking not about massive constituencies like say the whole of the south east or something, but something like Hampshire being a constituency or maybe even just South Hampshire. This would mean there are several MPs, probably from different parties representing the same people. Why is this good? Under the current system, if one MP from say Labour gets 40% and one MP from say the Lib Dems gets 39%, the large proportion of people who voted Lib Dems loose their representation. It also means there is more likely to be someone in your constituency who is sympathetic to your problems.

They did read out a few weeks ago that 'Josef Fritzl is coming to match tonight with his family'. I don't think he realised that one, and if the guy did he hid it well.

Liberal Democrats: 71% Labour Party: 65% Green Party: 59% UK Independence Party: 35% British National Party: 30% Conservative Party: 23% Suprised to see the BNP and UKIP above the Tories, but hey I hate them all.

Hmmmmm, ok then. Guess every player does a particularly bad tackle or two at least in their career.

Interesting stuff, can someone explain to me what happened with Schneiderlin?! I've been out all afternoon...

Has the TV debate been discussed at work?

9.4m average which isn't bad to be fair, considering 27.1m voted at the last election... that's over a third of the voting public if turnout stays the same. -
That was of people who watched the debate... When official weighting is added in... Conservatives: 35% Labour: 28% Lib Dems: 24% This means a 3 or 4% boost for the Lib Dems due to the debate which is much more realistic. What it means in a wider context is that it will be much harder for the conservatives to get in. This is because many of the seats they need to win are against the Lib Dems, particularly in the South West, if the Lib Dems poll this, they can expect to keep those seats quite comfortably as well as making a few a gains. Really, the system stinks because despite the fact Labour are only 4% ahead, they will still get significantly more seats because of the way the seats are laid out. Lib Dem support is sadly too thinly spread, either way we shall see come May the 6th.

It's initial reactions? What's wrong with that, I'm sure there will be over polls about it in a day or two...

Scientific poll conducted for ITV had Clegg winning by a country mile.

Gordon Brown is the Prime Minister, he isn't an MP though at the moment.

Had a few dogey games like the one against Charlton and obviously isn't the full product yet. However, on the whole he has been a very good buy for us and does seem to work hard. Also definitely a player we could take with us to the championship.
