One of the big pros about Pochettino was supposedly his ability to bring in bigger signings like Osvaldo. Let's see how they settle in first, and see how we are doing halfway through the season once it's all settled rather than after three games. Most analysts seem to think he has the team for a top half finish, so let's hope he can deliver.

Fingers crossed it will be high, but I'm not particularly hopeful.

I'm sure I will get stick from the usual people for saying this (and no, I'm not pretending I 'know it all'), but experience and knowledge doesn't necessarily correlate with age. Some people have done and know more by the age of 30 than others do by the age of 60. Not that that gives anyones opinion to be sacred, as we all experience things from our own point of view. However, this whole debate seems a bit serious for a forum which is basically about football chit chat.

I agree. Bearsy gets it absolutely right. He's funny, and more often than not has a decent point despite that. Too many posters just resort straight to the pointless insult.

I thought saintslist had died a slow death. I've always found this place/previousincarnations to be best because that's where the people are. I want an active forum for discussion.

Official: Saints academy player most expensive player ever
Saintandy666 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Great signing for Madrid, but a big loss for the EPL, which I want to be the best league in the world with the best players. -
And they still can not beat Arsenal. Arsene Wenger is a top manager if you ask me, despite what a lot of the press have been saying recently. He always pulls a top position out of the bag.

Not unsurprising. Swansea are a good side, and I hope they do well in the Europa league. More than a bit annoying for those who prefer Saturday kickoffs, but that's the nature of the Premier League these days.

Capital One Cup 3rd Round Draw - Home to Bristol City

What an odd thing to bring up. Yes, it was 11 years ago so I was 9. Hardly an weird activity. I find it a bit strange that you feel the need to reply to the majority of my posts. -

I remember that game! 6-1, had barely sat down when Marsden scored. -
People in the Kingsland North corner sitting down?
Saintandy666 replied to 100% Saint's topic in The Saints
I was pretty far back in the Kingsland North and I sat down, but so was everyone else! Sorry guys -
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought when we did the sell on trade off that we were in desperate need of the money.

I don't see why it matters that much. If the thread isn't interesting, it'll soon die.

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland
Saintandy666 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We deserved to win that, and if we continue to play like that we'll win plenty as the season goes on. I was very split between Wanyama and Ward-Prowse for MOTM(Went for JWP in the end); Ward Prowse had excellent delivery, but Wanyama is a rock and never seems to lose the ball. This is good as so much goes through him. It was a frustrating first half, but we upped ourselves in the second and it is very annoying we let in that early goal as they didn't really have much else. I thought Osvaldo looked very promising when he came on and I can't wait to see more of him and I have this feeling that him and Ramirez will work very well together. However, he seem to have a bit of a temper at times, which can be good I can imagine in some ways if it gets him riled up, but I think he'll need someone to calm him down time to time (as Lambert seemed to do at one point). Overall, a point is better than nothing, but a little bit disappointing given our performance. -
Same for you. I also thought that you might quote and reply me as well. I'm so glad that we both take such a healthy interest.

Wouldn't be surprised if they don't sell out. My ticket cost an arm and a leg.

How is it pc gone mad? There shouldn't have been any homophobic chants in the first place.

Lambert makes 430th best player in World football!
Saintandy666 replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
These lists are always quite arbitrary below a certain point. Lambert is a great player for us, but I personally wouldn't rank him as the most gifted at our club, though I guess it is always hard to compare players of different types. -
Puncheon to Palace - Official (Season Loan)

Puncheon is desperate for first team premier league football. I doubt he'd be happy being a sub for too long. -

Expectations: Consolidation - maybe looking towards top half of the table, but will be tough. -

Here we are! -
How do we define fan here? I kno wplenty of people who 'support' Southampton, and by that they have a passing interest. I wouldn't imagine it'd be more than a few hundred thousand max. In terms of actual dedicated fans, you are talking tens of thousands in my opinion.

The Guardian predict 14th place finish for Saints
Saintandy666 replied to Toon Saint's topic in The Saints
It's very tight below 7th, so entirely plausible we could finish anywhere midtable tbh.
