I know this is early days, but now we have beaten Switzerland away, we really should (based on our players) win every game in this group. Probably gonna have to end up eating those words, but I just don't see how I can justify us not beating all those teams given our players - although I guess the point here is players as individuals. I dunno about whether we have bought better players. But we certainly seem in the case of the younger players to leave have bought in players older yes (so perhaps less potential going forward), but just as good. And then in terms of other replacements, foreign (and so cheaper) alternatives who may be just as good or better than the options we had before. Let's see how the rest of the season goes though before declaring our new team the best or the worst. I reckon we will be fine and not near relegation, but as for whether we will be 8th again or more like 13th I want to wait another month or two!

I find it interesting how a 5 minute bad spell from a player means they are rubbish or not committed. Football players aren't machines, like any other human being they have ups and downs.

According to Ben Smith of the BBC - Southampton and Koeman are of the belief that players that want to go should be let go. Makes sense, you don't want a dressing room full of people who don't want to play for you. Wouldn't be like that in any other profession of course, given that they have contracts... but I guess that football isn't like any other profession.
