Sadly that's the most noise some made all night, 'sub, sub, sub'. Brilliant
-
The latter I'm afraid. They looked better all over the pitch sadly. We created nothing and possibly one of the poorest displays I've seen from us (and there's been a fair few contenders)
-
Why do you think?
-
Forgetting the rubbish on the pitch, we had 7 in the motor on the way up and they were taught the words and loved it. The RL chant is spreading quicker than a skate birds' legs at closing time
-
I thought Wotton looked on a par with most of our lot tonight. They all seemed to lack desire, mobility, pace, stature and organisation amongst many other attributes. He's not the best but we seem to have bigger problems throughout the side than just him
-
We had a couple of renditions in the Merlon pub and on the way to the ground. Most that heard it seemed to enjoy! (although I think a few are still struggling with the words) Thought the atmosphere was poor tonight, the open end combined with the dross we served up on the pitch didn't really help
-
I'm afraid its them manner in which we lost tonight that's more worrying. We looked second best all over the pitch for pretty much the entire 90 minutes. Early days but slightly concerned from what I've seen so far this season; same old problems sadly
-
I enjoyed the story. The account of how CM sees his kids knowing right from wrong yet being able to stick up for themselves was spot in my view. Just a bit of fun, don't make a drama out of it. Try concentrating on how you communicate with others before judging whether a young Saints fan is allowed to make a light hearted comment, having no doubt been on the receiving end of similar banter before.

Mills pulled a hamstring in training, Raziak was a bit too busy sending his cv off to prospective clubs, although the slow bastard missed the last post
-
You saw a different game to me. Saga offers very little, his touch was crap, no pace, lack of fitness and doesn't want to play for us. Get him and his ego out of our fine club sharpish
-
Agreed, not sure if it will catch on but worth a go!

Good song the Hearts lads have, listen to it a couple of times and I wouldn't mind the lads running out to this (obviously I've changed the words a little :-). The bit in bold could be sung fairly easily... thoughts? Down on the South coast, a famous old side Everyone knows of their passion and pride So this is the story their history paints There's no other team to compare with the Saints _______________________________________________________________ S-A-I ....... N-T-S If you can not spell it then here’s what it says, Saints, Saints, Glorious Saints, It's down at St Marys we bide, The red & white stripes always up for the fight Its Southampton we follow with pride ____________________________________________________________________ You’ll hear the noise when the Saints are about, Pride of the South it is never in doubt We flock to St Marys we packed out the Dell, Where teams like United and Liverpool fell ________________________________________________________________________ S-A-I ....... N-T-S If you are a thick skate then here’s what it says, Saints, Saints, Glorious Saints, It's down at St Marys we bide, The red & white stripes always up for the fight Its Southampton we follow with pride This is my story, This is my song , Follow the Saints and You can't go wrong, Onwards we march and together we stand The famous Southampton, the best in the land
-
Good suggestion, not just saying it (honest!) but have thought for a while it would fit well for us with the SAI - NTS SAINTS, SAINTS glorious Saints, It's down at St. Mary's we bide, The boys in the stripes, they will never hide, And Southampton supports them with pride
-
Thanks mate enjoyed that (didn't see it earlier, late leaving the pub as usual!). Glad your boy enjoyed the day; hopefully the first of many!
-
Great to hear. That was on his birthday as well, imagine if they catch him on a bad day!
-
Neither can I. Get them both signed up fast
-
Wouldn't worry, our season tickets arrived this morning also minus Ajax tickets. I guess we don't need to worry about saving on postage anymore :-)
-
He'd be a League 1 manager anway had Charlton not given him the boot. Not sure on this one. Decent track record previously but his more recent record worries me a little

The friendlies have highlighted what we already knew really. We have a very quiet team, often lacking physically and in leadership, pretty at times but ineffective on the whole. Without going through the entire squad, I'd rate the following as: Looking good: Perry, KD, Gillett, James (borderline) Still to be convinced: Mills, Thompson, Patterson, Lallana (rate him but still not sure which position to play him to most benefit the team), Raziak (all depends on whether he's that interested in staying, so far that looks like a no) Not up to it: Bart (get rid now), Lancashire, Wotton, White, That said, I'm loving the situation we find ourselves in with our new owner and am convinced they'll get it right and we have a very bright future :-)
-
I'm more concerned about where South Today expect us to find the funds to buy out Mickey Adams contract at Port Vale? We're not made of money FFS

Just when you think the day couldn't possibly get any better! Its been pretty much perfect today............ got to go, Keira Knightleys ringing the door bell....

So who will be renewing/buying a ST?
Loyal Saint replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Was renewing anyway but will now be doing so with a touch more hope and enthusiasm -
Markus, thank you Sir, you have just made a lot of people very, very happy!! Thank you for saving this great club of ours and for ensuring my 4 year old boy has a club he can be proud of for years to come. The loyal supporters of this fantastic football club will be eternally grateful to you. Up The Saints!!
