  1. Thanks guys. She's going to se if the place she bought it from will take it back. Failing that, time for a format and re-install.
  2. I think so, but I'm guessing that it won't work because the OS that is installed is XP Pro and the new copy she has bought is XP home edition.
  3. A friend of mine has a second hand PC with an unlicensed copy of windows XP professional, which she seems to be having trouble with, so she has bought a genuine copy of Windows XP home edition so that she can validate the product and get full support from Microsoft. The question is, is it possible to 'upgrade' the OS she already has to this one, or will she need to format the HD and re-install the OS using the genuine copy she has bought? Any advice gratefully received.
  4. Good luck mate. I hope you enjoy the challenge and raise a good amount in the process.
  5. Just watched Pan's Labyrinth again on C4, although I've seen it a few times. I love this film so much. Sheer fairy-tale fantasy contrasted with some brutal violence, with a heart-breaking bittersweet ending. So brilliantly produced and acted and visually stunning from start to finish. Probably my fave foreign film of all time.
  6. BTW - as much as I dislike him, I've got to hand it to Alonso. He drove the pants off that Renault today and fully deserved his win.
  7. Breaking news.... The FIA are currently viewing video evidence that shows that Lewis Hamilton drove past the Ferrari garage during his pitstop and the subsequent air turbulence created as he drove past caused the problem with Massa's fuel-hose. Early reports suggest that Hamilton will be handed another 25sec penalty for causing this incident and that Kimi will be installed as race winner despite running out of talent and driving his car into a wall for the second time in the last three races.
  8. This seems to be the crux of everybody's arguments regarding it, but I disagree. Did you see how much faster Hamilton was in latter part of that lap? I have absolutely no doubt that he would have taken Raikonnen at La Source anyway whether he cut the chicane or not, he was that much quicker in the conditions. Also, and this one seems to have been completely ignored by a lot of experts, if you watch the replays of the incident, Hamilton so completely out-braked Kimi that he was actually ahead on the track at the point that they turned in to the corner. So if this is the case, was the advantage not Hamilton's in the first place? You could argue that Kimi illegally gained an advantage by deliberately squeezing Lewis off the track. I'm sure Maclaren would have argued this in their appeal, were the FIA not so completely spineless as to deny them that right in the first place. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. Do the FIA not realise that the whole world now believes them to be corrupt? (as if we all didn't beforehand anyway) Are they so blind or stupid that they think F1 fans will just accept the decision?
  9. Radio 2 mostly. They do play a lot of sh1t music but mostly it's sh1t in a non-offensive, easy-listening kind of way. Unless of course they play Abba (which they occasionally do) which I find to be an insult to my ears.
  10. Abba - Dancing Queen. Brings to mind images of drunken middle-aged women dancing round their handbags in the Chicago Rock Cafe. Truly terrible song that makes me want to put my foot through the radio whenever it comes on.
  11. I really hope to god you are on a wind-up here. The Red Arrows are internationally recognised as among the finest (if not the finest) display teams in the world.
  12. It stars Ben Stiller. What were you expecting?
  13. Sorry but I can't agree with that. The ironic thing about the Spice Girls that always makes me laugh is the fact that they were always bleating on about 'Girl Power', yet none of them would be where they are now were it not for one man - their original manager Simon Fuller - who brought them together and created their image for them. As for influencing the case for equal rights for women, I don't think there really was much of a case. When the Spice Girls were unleashed on the public in the mid-late 90s, can you really say that women were still the victims of sexist discrimination? I will concede that there may well have been a lot of young girls who looked at them and thought 'if they can succeed then so can I' so in that respect, yes they probably did inspire quite a few people. The Spice Girls musically more influential than Led Zepellin???
  14. Hang on... A group of untalented bints who never wrote a single on of their own songs and mime when they perform are voted as being a better live act than one of the greatest rock groups in history? WTF!?!? Who voted in this poll?
  15. OK, I'll re-iterate my point. I am NOT looking for people to pay for a free holiday here. I've already stated that I am going to put some of my own money into this, and I will find out next week how much I can realistically afford right now. Also, when I know how much I am going to be earning between now and May, I will put more in as and when I can afford it. I know I can't just expect everybody to cough up their own money, and that I have do something/things to raise the sponsorship money. I have already started this. A friend and I have decided that we are going to do a sponsored bike ride along the Trans-pennine Trail sometime either at the end of next month or the beginning of november. I will post details about it once they are confirmed, and I will also find some way of showing how much I have paid in myself - you will all understand if I am reluctant to scan my bank statement and post it on here. I will also be holding talks next week with the owners of a nightclub in Sheffield to discuss the possibility of putting on a fund-raising open decks night to try and raise more funds. AwaySaint1... Are you accusing me of fraud? I consider that to be a very serious accusation. I absolutely have not deliberately mislead anyone for my own benefit - all of the information you need is printed on the websites I have posted links to, and they are 100% legal and above-board. Would you care to provide some evidence to back up your claim? Seeing as no such evidence exists, I would respectfully request that you retract your accusation otherwise you will be hearing from my solicitor.
  16. He directed it
  17. Too late
  18. Sorry DSM. I asked a few people in the pub lastnight but none of them were interested.

  20. Yeah it is. I'm meeting some mates tonight and i know one of them is a Nickelback fan so I'll ask him for you.
  21. What venue is it? The Hallam FM Arena? I may know a few people that might be interested.
  22. Finally got round to watching City of God a few days ago. Outstanding film. Can't really say much more than that. If you haven't already seen it then I suggest you get hold of it as soon as possible. 9/10.
  23. Hattrick from Walcott!!!!!!!!!
  24. No. Never. Stupid little pixie-faced b!tch. Twice I paid for tickets to go and see her at Sheffield City Hall and twice she cancelled. Slag!
  25. It still wouldn't technically be a trilogy though as they would just be three separate stories involving the same characters rather than three parts of the same story.
