  1. It just HAD to be a BMW driver didn't it.
  2. Some mates and me used to do that as well. Have fond memories of running off and frantically scrambling over the fence when they came after us.
  3. Yeah, although Villeneuve should actually thank him for that because if he hadn't collided with Schumi he would have been off the track and into the gravel trap!
  4. Despite everything that Schumi went on to achieve after that, I have still never forgiven him for it. His official resonse to the incident was "I did not See him", yet the video replay clearly shows him turn his head and look at Hill before turning into him. That just proved what a dirty cheater he was and tarnished his image forever. The record books show that he is the most successful driver of all time, but in my eyes he is just the dirtiest.
  5. Can't argue with a single word he has said. And it isn't often you will hear me say that about a politician! Brown gives off the aura of a man who is so hopelessly out of his depth in his job that it simply beggars belief. As Hannan rightly points out, it was Browns over-spending and ridiculous borrowing during the boom years that has put our country in the position it is now in, yet he is utterly incapable of accepting that maybe, just maybe, his policies weren't so good during that time. He continously spouts on about how this Labour government 'turned around' the economy of this country, but I seem to remember that it was actually pretty damn healthy when they inherited it from the Tories in 1997. The boom years, it would appear, were despite Blair and Brown, not because of them.
  6. Actually I lost my dad when I was six, so I am speaking from experience. I got over it - in fact I was too young at the time to understand so it didn't really affect me as much as it might have had it happened let's say in my teens.
  7. Nice freudian slip there.
  8. While I agree it is very sad that two young children have lost their mother (they will get over it I'm sure) I am now very glad that I will be able to go into a newsagents and not see her face plastered across the front pages of every newspaper and magazine on display. The woman meant nothing to me. She was an untalented, bigoted, attention-seeking gob****e with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. She was the epitome of everything that is wrong with this country and will be long forgotten by the celebrity-obsessed masses who idolised her in no time at all, such is the fickle nature of the media in this country. I'm sorry if this offends anybody. I'm not celebrating her death, and I'm not saying she deserved to die. She was a nobody who (god only knows how) became a somebody, whom I never met and will not mourn the passing of.
  9. Total agreement from me. His brilliant drive in Hungary in 2006 to win from 12th (I think) showed what a talent he has. I've always liked Jenson and I was so annoyed (though not at all surprised) at the fickle nature of the british fans when I went to Silverstone in 2007. When the drivers did their parade, Hamilton got a massive roar from the crowd but Jenson, who had been the darling of the british fans for a few years prior to the arrival of this little upstart, barely got a whimper. I will be smiling from ear to ear if he beats Hamilton in the WDC this season. He has always been one of the best drivers on the grid ever since he entered the series. Now it looks as though he finally has the hardware to really shine and he thoroughly deserves it.
  10. Well most would certainly try I imagine. But Touting is big business to some people and they make a point of knowing exactly when tickets to certain events go on sale, so they will do their best to get in before the fans. That's the whole point. Doesn't make it right.
  11. I'd rather stick hot needles in my eyes and have a bath in my own urine than do business with you Stu. Thanks anyway.
  12. ****s of the highest order IMO. Preying on the obsessions of fans to make some quick money for nothing. W***ers the lot of them. Artists and venues should do much more to clamp down on it and websites like seatwave etc... should be outlawed. It should be made illegal for anybody to sell event tickets at higher than face value.
  13. I heard last year though that Honda's KERS system they were developing for this year was looking like it was the best of all the teams.
  14. Agree wih that. I had the misfortune to watch some of Al Murray's new sketch show on ITV last night, and while I think he is really funny when he does standup shows as The Pub Landlord (that doesn't include his happy hour or that dreadful sitcom he did on Sky a few years back), I found this program painfully unfunny.
  15. Not great livery but I always thought the lines on this car were beautiful. Edit: I didn't notice this picture was taken after they added the stupid little added wings which ruined the aesthetics somewhat.
  16. Tells you all you need to know about Russell Brand really. they are both complete ****s IMO
  17. This may or may not be true, but we need to change our practises with regard to energy consumption anyway. There is only a finite amount of coal/oil/gas available on this planet, and surely nobody is blind enought to believe that by burning all of it we are not adversely affecting the natural balance of the climate in any way. Eventually these energy resources are going to run out, so do we carry on polluting the atmosphere and maybe affecting the climate of the planet until it runs out, or do we do something about it and look at clean, renewable energy sources NOW?
  18. The Crystal Maze?
  19. Interesting article in the Independent today... Link here
  20. Yes, I had to cancel the trek as I was out of work for too long and was not able to put enough of my own money towards it. I took on board some comments from many people, including posters on this thread, and eventually decided I was more than willing to put in the £1400, which was the actual cost of the trip, on my credit card; but being out of work for 5 months meant that to put myself in that much debt without the means to pay it back would have been utter stupidity so I cut my losses (the £200 deposit was non-refundable) and cancelled. I contacted everybody who had donated and explained how they could get a refund. Some people already have received refunds from the charity, the rest were happy to have donated due to my friend and me completing a 60-mile bike ride along the Trans-pennine trail last november as part of my fundraising efforts, and have declined the offered refund.
  21. Not according to Spiiting Image they're not.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSLMKUXZ3hk
  22. This is my thinking exactly. In most, if not all, other situations, anybody who presided over such an utter disaster that every single customer of that company could see and predict happening, that person would be summarily dismissed for gross mis-management - shareholder or not.
  23. But it never used to be 'the way it should be' so why should it be now? Well you are at least correct in that assumption as neither of my parents have ever had the slightest interest in football. Wrong I'm afraid. I was there in december 03 when we knocked them out of the carling cup, and again when Doddy scored from a corner and Marian scored 'that' goal. You're right, it was a sweet moment to beat our local rivals, but I don't need to hate them with a passion in order to feel that way. And one thing I have never understood... If we are supposed to hate pompey because they are our local rivals, why do so many Saints fans go and watch Eastliegh when they are at home? Why don't we have a bitter rivalry with them too?
  24. In defense of Indie 4, it would have scored sooooo much higher on my ratings were it not for two little bits... 1) the bit when Indie jnr swung through the trees like tarzan! (WTF!?!?!?) and 2) The gophers... The ****ing gophers! I would just like to ask Mr Spielberg - WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WERE YOU THINKING!?!?!?
  25. Ken Bates has never really been very popular amongst fans of other clubs (or his own come to think of it!) But you're right about Rupert being the most hated ever. I got chatting to a group of lads on a stag do a while back who turned out to be Huddersfield fans, and even they thought Lowe was a complete c*nt!
