  1. Running, not owning. Cortese doesn't own the club, I'm 99% sure of that.
  2. "Kn0b off Timothy, we've got a f*ckton of cranes to sell"
  3. To be fair I don't think anyone on the forum thought he wasn't harsh on Adkins.
  4. I just think people are jumping to conclusions in assuming that because the club settled out of court they're admitting guilt, whereas it could be Benali backing down as he thought he would lose the case.
  5. But Saints may have wanted the case to be brought up so they could ensure that the correct amount for the work was paid, and not necessarily the amount the claimant wanted.
  6. Not necessarily, as I seem to remember hearing the amount also included outstanding rent for the last month. Potentially Benali sent the club a final bill which included his quote for 'damage' and the last months rent. The club were happy to pay the rent, but weren't happy to pay the quoted 'damage'. This is only hypothetical though, like the rest of this thread as no-one knows.
  7. Norwaysaint wins the thread.
  8. Did anyone actually write to the Liebherr's in the end?
  9. This is a joke, yes? He looks awful.
  10. I think the problem is with this one is that we don't know the facts. However, it wasn't a case of the club saying it didn't owe Benali anything (from what I remember being reported/commented on), but just that we didn't agree with the amount that was stipulated by Benali. There are 3 main situations that could have happened as far as I can see. 1) Cortese was in the wrong. Having consulted a property lawyer and not the clubs lawyer (who would frankly have no idea) he was advised that going to court would result in a loss of the case, so it was settled out of court. 2) The amount that Franny was asking for was opportunistic, and far more than the alleged amount owed. Due to Southampton hardballing over the last couple of months and sticking to the amount actually owed, Benali caved and accepted the correct amount. 3) They were both wrong and got an independent specialist or mediator to set the amount. All IMHO of course
  11. I think the biggest thing is whether or not these children were sexy. Judging by the look of the women that Stuart Hall had a go at, he has no defence.
  12. Please Barry, if you want to be taken seriously you have to realise the difference between 'of' and 'have'.
  13. I think that guy may well post on here...
  14. Apparently we're looking at this guy. He's Malaga's RB (yes, Quarter Finalists in the CL Malage). I would usually treat this with a pinch of salt, but it is from the Mirror and I presume Alan Nixon who has a good track record with us. Personally, I can't see we need another RB, unless as back up.
  15. We're actually moving to Chertsey later this month as we can't afford/justify spending £600k on a 3 bed terraced house! Was at the Swan bank holiday Monday, great place when the weather is good!
  16. Why comment on a thread if you think it's been done before? Strange people.
  17. So after staying up this year (not 100% yet - but nearly there), what do you think our aims should be, and what do you think we'd need to do to get there? For me I think we should be aiming top 8 to 10, and would need to spend around £30m to do this, with a new Centre Back, Central Mid, Striker and Winger/Forward coming in: Astori Wanyama Bony Lopez/Zarate/Diamante As well as this we need to rid ourselves of around 8 to 10 fringe/loaned out players: Sharp Chaplow De Ridder Forte Fox Martin Lee Hammond Barnard This will hopefully raise a bit of money through transfer fees (hopefully £4-8m) and then free up some wages (around £80-100k per week). With this sort of investment and purchases I believe a top 10 finish is very possible, and could even push on to challenge the top 8.
  18. Potentially you could say that our Season in the Championship was just continued good form from League 1, could you not? In all honesty I liked Adkins, thought he did a cracking job and was annoyed that he was sacked in the middle of our best run of the Season, but I can't see that if McDermott had spent £30m on his team that he wouldn't have done at least as well as Adkins. I think Adkins was woefully out of his depth in the Premiership, thinking he could go into games trying to be clever and not playing his strongest side.
  19. Have they got any young keepers to throw in completely out of their depth? Luckily this season he can use to find out who his best team is so that next season he knows not to play his best lineup every week. Especially those players who are vital to the way they play.
  20. Why couldn't McDermott have brought them back up though?
  21. Glad to see Adkins isn't in there considering he's already relegated one club from the Premier League this Season. I still find that a very strange appointment, sack a Manager in McDermott and then replace him with a worse manager.
  22. He was, but it doesn't fit in with BS's argument so he won't take it on board.
  23. Our 3rd string keeper that should never have even played but did due to Adkins incompetence?
  24. Neil Danns was the funny one...
