  1. So he's going to be starting again is he? *sigh*
  2. Most people seem to think the Transfer Committee did well I thought. Especially when the other day I asked if people would change who we bought in the Summer, most people seemed happy.
  3. Not sure if anyone reads Football365.com on here, but as a regular reader and contributor through the Mailbox I came across this gem of a story this afternoon. Enjoy, cos I certainly did. "This Is Great Last night's game against Norwich gives me an opportunity to regale you with possibly the greatest football stitch up ever in the history of the world. About 5 years back when saints were on their downward slide through the leagues the local radio station, saint fm, ran a competition to win tickets for the saints Norwich game that week. I hadn't heard about it due to a radio ban by my then fascist boss but my mum phoned me to tell me and to beg me to enter. The best poem about saints would win said tickets and a little tour before the game to meet a couple of the players. Mums a massive saints fan and asked me to write a poem on her behalf so she could get the tickets. I duly obliged, writing being a bit of a hobby and something I'm a bit handy at (gizajob) and handed the piece to mum to submit. About a week later I got a call from the station saying that my mum had won but she had admitted it was my poem and did I want the prize? I was chuffed to be fair, quite proud of my efforts so came clean and claimed the prize. So me and mum turn up to the game and get ushered in, all the while my mum keeps bursting into fits of giggles and laughter. I knew something was up because mum, dad and my brother all love to stitch me up but for the life of me I couldn't work out what. We do the tour, meet a couple of fringe players, get some free merchandise and then the pr guide says "Well its ten minutes to kick off I suppose we better get you up there" Thinking he meant the stands I started to follow but mum hangs back, next thing I know I'm getting led onto the pitch introduced as the competition winner and then told to read the poem out in front of 26000 fans. I was f**king mortified. Embarrassed wasn't the word. About 1500 Norwich fans chanting "w*nker w*nker w*nker" followed by "what the f**king hell was that" with me stood on the hallowed wishing it would just open up taking me and those f**kers in the Northam end with me!! So well done mum (she reads the site and thinks johnny nic is a hero) for completely humiliating me in front of thousands of people and getting me a good 'un and giving me a better football anecdote than most!! Martin (going to football with mum really makes me look well cool) Ansell" Does Martin post on here by the way? Be suprised if he didn't.
  4. I think that's the only one in all honesty that would not really be possible nowadays, although I have to say I'm not that clued up on how Communist states produced and sold food.
  5. Mega Lolz.
  6. You know what he means. It's the base of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, those parts of life that are needed to be able to move onto the next stage, and something that is imperative to the way the species lives. The way I read it is that these provisions should be controlled by the state so that people can gain these without having to deal with capitalists trying to make money out of it. These baser principles would help to improve society.
  7. ...could he do a job for us? I'm inclined to say yes, be a good bit of experience in the team, a player to look up to for the young players. I assume 1 offer is from QPR and 'Arry.
  8. OMG, bed wetter alert.
  9. Would have much preferred Oxbridge to Warwick, Warwick are a bunch or arrogant b*****ds. Unfortunately neither Oxford or Cambridge did my course, and Warwick turned me down. Not that I'm bitter about it.
  10. I had one the other day for PI. PI Company: Can I speak to ? Me: Speaking. PI Company: We have been informed that you are due £3k in compensation in relation to a crash you had 3 years ago. Me: Oh really, OK. PI Company: Can you please give me details of your crash so that we can estimate the compensation that you could claim. Me: I thought you said it was £3k? PI Company: Yes, we just have to confirm this. What was the date of the crash? Me: I don't know, you were the one that told me I had a crash. PI Company: Our records show that you did. Me: What is the date on that record? PI Company: We don't have a date on the record. Me: You told me I had a crash 3 years ago. PI Company: ........ Me: ....... PI company: Am I speaking to ? Me: Yes, I'm speaking. PI Company: On what date did you have your crash? Me: Which crash, I had more than 1 crash? PI Company: The one 3 years ago. Me: 17th June. PI Company: Which year? Me: 3 years ago. PI Company: So 2009? Me: Sounds right. PI Company: Was the crash your fault? Me: Yes, I drove into a shop. PI Company: ...... Me: ...... PI Company: Can I please speak to Mr Me: *Hangs up* Never had a crash (touch wood), but doing this really winds them up.
  11. It was a reason for people to write Puncheon off though, and he'd done far less than Boruc has in the past. I just can't see that he's a good addition for harmony in the squad, that's all. Also, if you don't count what was written in addtion as unprofessional then I struggle to see what you want from your football players.
  12. Ah yes, that's right. I'm a Tory, but the babnks couldn't be allowed to go bust. The hardship that would have been felt around the World would have been insane. There was no choice.

  14. Didn't Icelands main bank go bang?
  15. Or Forster.
  16. What I find strange is that to me it seemed Adkins had no interest in signing him in the Summer until he arrived...in fact I think he said something along the lines of "no, we won't be signing him' as if he didn't rate him.
  17. I also believe an additional process narrative for clarification would help. He should also have used the diamond decision boxes.
  18. I made this point on another thread. Who we want playing doesn't make one jot of difference, it's all down to Adkins. It's frustrating that good quality keepers were available this Summer but that none that we have are Premier League quality. The transfer committee desperately needs to look into this failing.
  19. Perhaps it can be merged by the mods then.
  20. Yet he played so well he wasn't even in the Poland squad for Euro 2012 after Fabianski pulled out in the Summer? That makes him at best the 5th ranked Polish keeper. Don't forget that clean sheets are far easier to come by in Serie A. "He had a price tag of £10million. He was idolised by the Celtic supporters and they nicknamed him ‘The Holy Goalie’. The following season his form dipped. He put on weight and had off-field problems. He was fined by the club for a brawl with Aiden McGeady and there was no doubt Boruc took then-manager Gordon Strachan to breaking point on a few occasions. Strachan sometimes wanted to drop Boruc but there wasn’t sufficient back-up quality to do that.
  21. Are we overrating his ability and potential the way that we did with Bart? Bart had a couple of runs of good games and then it all went rather sour. Are we happier to overlook his errors because he is young and we feel he has potential? It is always nice to have a good, young keeper, but do we exaggerate this due to it being an area we need to strengthen?
  22. There is a good reason. He's been error prone for the last few years. Why at 32, when he should be at his peak, did La Viola let him leave on a free. His last season at Celtic they wanted rid. He's unprofessional (or was at least) earlier in his career.
  23. He's getting the benefit of the doubt because he's young and everyone loves a prospect. Tbh I haven't seen that many people writing off Boruc, but clearly Adkins doesn't rate him that highly. That's who you should have your beef with if you feel he should be playing.
  24. You'll need straight A's, probably 4, but the biggest hurdle will be the interviews, and whether the feel you are a good fit for the University.
  25. Shaw for sure.
