By Premier League standards he was an average Manager, no more. Excellent Championship and League 1 though. -

Shows how hypocritical some of you are though, I'm sure you'll agree. Look forward to my apology on Monday. -

I'm sad that Adkins was sacked, I disagree with the timing and think Cortese is a nob for it, but ultimately I think it was the correct decision as NA was an average manager. -

Fine, the way you are writing it seems like you wish to curb free speech... -

Yes, I believe we will hear boos against our new Manager and that's what I worry about. Football fans aren't the most intelligent as you well know. But lets see on Monday. If we hear any fans getting on his back will you come on here and write me any apology? I doubt it. You realise that 'sleeping on it' is a turn of phrase don't you? It's a combination of calming down, taking stock of where we are and where we want to go, and thinking about the possible reasons that he has been replaced. For me being 6 points above Reading after spending £30m in the Summer, about £24m more than Reading, is a pretty poor return. Obviously you feel that is a good performance though. Different horses for different courses. -

Because some may agree that the decision was the correct one, if not at a misjudged time. Why can't you accept that people have different opinions to yourself? -

I'm only comparing the possible atmosphere, that's all, and you know that. All I was asking was whether having slept on it opinions had changed. Some have, some haven't, but some people 'get over' bad news quicker than others. Obviously you don't. That's all. Don't make it personal to fans that aren't sobbing into their cereal by saying they are plastic. -
Espanyol's best player by a mile he's 29 now but a very creative midfielder and likely out of contract at the end of the season. Could be a very good signing for us.

Don't you think that's a stupid reaction though? Hammering thr fans for something they had no say in? -
So how are we all feeling after being able to sleep on it? For me, the timing was a shame, but ultimately the decision could be correct, and I am quite excited to see what happens under Pochettino. Ultimately, football is about entertainment and excitement and this kind of move certainly does make it more exciting. One thing we certainly need to ensure is that we do not do a Chelsea and screw ourselves over. Chelsea are in a position where they're not going to lose out massively by doing protesting during the game, but we could. So it's time to 'draw a line under it and move on' with our new management and get behind the team. COYS!!!

Is sacking Adkins today the correct decision? No Is sacking Adkins the correct decision? Yes All imho.

Spending the 7th most money in Europe and only being 6 points ahead of Reading aint a good start...

It MUST have been Adkins and the committee as one because there is no chance that a player can be bought without the Manager knowing. NO CHANCE.

Are you all genuinely surprised or did you expect it?

As I alluded to back in October, I had heard that a management search was on (I'm not going to tell you my sources) and that it was a case of when not if Adkins would be replaced. I also saw in a Spanish paper on Tuesday they mentioned Pochettino to Saints. I felt it was actually wide of the mark which was why I didn't mention it, but turns out it wasn't and should have taken more notice. -
Well thought out post. Seriously guys, take a step back and re-group.
-
What is that going to do? The only thing that will happen is that you will possibly feel better as you have put your point of view across. That is all.

Don't be surprised if Coutinho is brought in...
Dibden Purlieu Saint replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Why are these players just coming for the money? What an ignorant and frankly xenophobic thing to say. -
Would you say the same about Bielsa?
