  1. Then perhaps you'd like to go support one of these 'Self sutaining' sports club, lol. God you're a joke.
  2. Liberals? **** off. I am not a 'reasonable person' as you put it, in fact I'm quite ruthless but only where there is a point in being so.
  3. Which is why we need Holmes back cos at least he hugs that touchline.
  4. What is all this with Pearson, honestly. The football we played under Pearson was the worst I've seen whilst watching Southampton, and that was with a much more experienced and highly paid team. It was awful. If you were filled with negativity when Lowe came back then I take it you're not disappointed about our position and are happy about where we are.
  5. Then suggest someone. Give me a name.
  6. Agreed, we are inconsistent, but they're kids, that's one of the dangers with playing youngsters. All we need is a few breaks or one of our 'strikers' to go on a run and I honestly feel we'll be alright. All we need is to have a bit of confidence in front of goal and we'd be alright.
  7. mcgoldrougt BWP paterson robertson peckhart And they're all ****, I wouldn't call them strikers they are that bad. The rest we can't afford, so that's by the by.
  8. But why is everyone so disappointed when this is what we thought would happen this season? It seems to me people had unrealistic expectations of this season and that cannot be blamed on anyone but the person themselves.
  9. The formation does work away from home. The biggest issue is with going to 4-4-2 we need 2 strikers. We don't even have 1 striker at the moment, yet we have more decent midfielders.
  10. And that's fair enough. But can someone please come up with a viable alternative. I didn't want this to get into another Lowe debate, I want it to be a debate about the fact that people have moved their expectations just to make this Lowe/Poortvliet combo lose. This is the position people expected and to a certain extent agreed to 6 months ago. Yet now it's not good enough.
  11. At the beginning of the season, and even when Pearson was here, it was a widely held belief that with our financial issues we would be happy to stay up this year. Now call me a stickler for facts, but I seem to believe that if the season ended now we would stay up. Maybe I'm wrong... It seems after yesterdays game people have completely over-reacted. We lost to Burnley, who are a very good championship side, located a long way from Southampton. I think people still reckon we should be challenging. People need to realise that we are currently a low end Championship side. That's it. And considering the players that we're having to play I think we're actually not doing too shabbily. People are always looking to blame someone. We do live in a blame society. Something goes wrong, someone is to blame. Things happen in cycles (look at Global warming). All I really have to say on the matter is: - Get over it, ffs. Support your club. (Cue loads of people blaming Lowe for everything, yawn.) Ps. I don't want him here, but he's our best option.
  12. And posts like this from numpty boy is why free speech should not be allowed...
  13. Without a doubt, Peter Madsen. The class that guy had was immense, and all he needed was a decent run in the team to get some goals. Belmadi could be class at times.
  14. I have to say I agree with the sentiments here, I enjoy watching Saints this year, and if only we could bring in a a decent striker to fit into our system then I'd be happy. Have been quite impressed with BWP starting to find an end product now.
  15. I think the issue is that it is quite low risk for them. where the council could take out a loan to buy it, Southampton can't do that currently as we're not a company in a position for that.
  16. With all the talk about administration, where all this debt is coming from etc, I've been thinking. Is there no way that St Mary's can be bought by Southampton City council and then leased back to the club like Leeds United did. We could then pay most of the mortgage off, leaving us with lower payments. This action would also probably show the bank the extreme lengths we're prepared to go to, and buy us more leeway. Just wondering that's all. Any decent reasons why not?

  18. I'll just be happy to see a full stadium again. To be honest if you cabn't get excited about playing Man U at home, what can you get excited about? People used to get excited when we were in the Prem and played them every season, so why not now?
  19. Oh I completely agree, I think it will just be very entertaining to see...
  20. I was just wondering, how many people on here who will not go to watch Saints due to Lowe being in charge will turn up for the United game. I reckon it will be quite a few.
  21. Thought he looked very good...
  22. No, I'm unwell unfortunately...
