Saints 1 Arsenal 1 - Post Match Reactions & MotM
krissyboy31 replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
I knew people would kick off about the substitutions, plenty around me were doing the same but they were absolutely the right changes at the right time. -
Friedel just signed a new contact and Cudicini is off to MLS.
-
It depends whether one is talking about defending or attacking. The Watson/Nicholl partnership of the early eighties hardly missed a header.
-
Seems quite a strange decision to me, seeing TP is based in South Africa and only gets back for one game a season (if that).
-
Not sure I agree with that. Schwatzer did get a strong hand to it, by guessing the flight and direction off the ball but the pace and placement meant he was always picking it out of the back of the net.
-
Bring in Schmeichel!
-
It's probably got more to do with the ridiculous 25 man squad rule. We had brought in J-Rod, wanted Ramirez and Mayuka, were never going to offload Lambert, so that left nil free spaces.
-
I think the only reason Sharpy took the loan option to Forest was SO'D. Can see him wanting to come back now. Got to be a better option than sending on De Ridder to turn a game around.
-
Mostly beer (think my friends and family think I'm an alchie) and money. Got a few Saints knick-knacks, a new camera and a Morrissey and Marr biography.
-
Allan Ball for me. To entice a recent England captain to drop a division, against the wishes of his father and mentor, was a statement of intent that started the best period in our history.

Completely embarrassed by the Santa costumes today

There was 71 of them apparently! http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Kung-Fu-Panda-friends-day-remember/story-17670652-detail/story.html -
Or put Puncheon on the left and actually have a natural left footed player on the left crossing from better angles than he manages on the other wing, where he always has to come inside and usually loses it.
-
Whatever happened to the ones... we DIDN'T sign?

Matt Jarvis. Not exactly pulling up trees at West Ham. -
All the more strange the decision to hand him a starting position on Saturday IMO.

Will Buckley - Brighton to Saints (link in the Mirror)

If we were talking about a CB I would agree with you but as a forward player with pace and skill he should do just fine. Let's face it just about none of our forward line have previous PL experience and yet they haven't looked out of their depth and haven't really done badly in creating chances nor knocking the goals in. -
The only bit of that I agree with is the lineswoman's perception of where her line is. Thought Webb was the best Ref we've had at St Mary's this season and Mayuka (although there may have been minimal contact) took a dive.
-
Couldn't really bother to read through the whole thread after that but just about everyone apart from Shaw and Cork had an off day. Their goal was a bit of a fluke really and apart from that it was a nil-nil from two pretty poor teams. Danny Rose was the best player on the pitch by a country mile and made Punch look like an amateur.

Nah, not as embarrassing as the 30 or so Stoke fans dressed as penguins at Watford Gap ! saw on the way down, not to mention the odd Scoobydoo, Biggles, Woody and Wonder Woman that was with them. -
True! And pretty pointless, as I'm in the Kingsland and so wouldn't be seen on TV.
-
To be honest I'm quite tempted to wear one just to wind up the sanctimonious prats on here!
-
Yes I preferred the team proving the doom mongers wrong. I hope they now don't start that with the happy clappies!
-
Wouldn't have stopped John McGrath.
-
You need to add the weight of the stuffing to the weight of the bird before working out the cooking time but the stuffing from inside the the turkey is the best by far IMO.
-
I'm a bit with CB with this one. Team GB and Paralympic GB are such a collection of teams that it does seem a bit of a cop out.
-
I would, under the right guidance and coaching and given time to get his confidence back he could be an excellent player for us.
