  1. Really shows how far we've come, when we can make 11 changes and put out a side like that.
  2. This! Except I'd still be tempted to start with Osvaldo to try and get him his first goal.
  3. I think people seem to think because Journalists work in the media in an area, they have to have allegiances to one or other team in that particular area (despite mostly coming from outside of said area). Adam Blackmore and Peter White quite often have Villa love-ins on Twitter, despite both reporting mostly on Saints. Roger Johnson was a Stoke City fan, and as has been mentioned Tony Husband is a Plymouth supporter. They are Journalists who follow the teams in the area and will report some good things and some bad (although saying something that is factually correct, which we would hope to improve on, isn't exactly a criticism in my book).
  4. Was on holiday for the Sunderland and Norwich games so Sunday will be my first match of the season.
  5. Neil Heaney for me. Just liked that era of Flash and Shipps up front with Le Tiss and Heaney supplying the ammo.
  6. Couldn't agree more Chris. Maybe the first British football stadium but certainly not the first sports stadium in the world to have this. What it has done has increased people talking about the club and traffic through #saintsfc going into meltdown. Wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of deal with twitter materialising whereby advertising will appear on the hashtag and the club raking in a nice little earner.
  7. Would Markus approve of us having an "official betting partner" Asian or not?
  8. Good to hear it Trousers but you might just get to like this football malarkey if you give it a chance!!
  9. Am expecting fireworks off the field when Di Canio meets Osvaldo!
  10. I'm going Steve Bruce after falling out big style with the Allam's
  11. Blimey! Didn't realise Ted Rogers had brought 321 and Dusty Bin back to life!
  12. If he only plays the once, it's something they can't take away from him. I think Scotland is the ideal game for him and I think he;ll have a decent chance to score.
  13. I remember Clive Foley selling Mars bars at the Dell with his usherette box around his neck.
  14. Not really! Gone down like a lead balloon up here. They are known as 'City' and always have been (confusing to us from outside the area, because you wonder why they talk of this Manchester club), never referred to as the Tigers. You do have the happy clappers who think the Allam's can do no wrong though, because they 'saved' the club but most are up in arms, particularly as this broke several weeks ago up here and the club flatly denied it.
  15. Any team managed by Twitchy Redkrapp and Sam the Sloth Allerdyce!

  17. Umm! There's only 2 months between them!
  18. You forgot the 'in your opinion'! Not sure you'll get too many agree with you though!
  19. Did they announce Mr Whippy as MoM?
  20. Looking at those highlights (albeit brief) and the comments on here, not sure any positives can betaken from that game. Looks lie Beastleigh should have had a pen early in the game.
  21. We've been rumoured to have been chasing him all summer and have thought he's the perfect fit for Saints. Wages may be the problem, hence why other clubs have looked at a loan deal.
  22. I think he was excellent in our promotion campaign but has definitely not been the same since his injuries throughout last season. I don't think too much can be read into yesterday's game, Shalke were much sharper that we were. Hopefully come West Brom, he'll have had a full (injury free) pre-season and he'll start to show us the player we all hoped he would be.
  23. I'd say a fox in the box and a winger with genuine pace.
  24. Complete with 62k capacity super dome with retractable roof.
