He's always had the talent but manager after manager insisted on playing Tadic wide right, meaning JWP was shoehorned in elsewhere or dropped. Now he's playing in his best position, which in turn gives a better balance to the team.

I think 3 at the back is a good option. It's a problem when it becomes 5 and the 2 holding midfielders get deeper and deeper.

They did mention it on Talk Sport and could see why Saints fans get frustrated with MoPe's negative substitutions. I don't see a problem with game management, the trouble is we get more and more negative and invite the oppo back into the game. Hopefully if we get Promes or similar, we might have more of a weapon to hit teams on the break when that attack us, but at the moment we just don't.

in both codes of rugby, it is compulsory for a player with involved with a head clash to leave the pitch for a head injury assessment (HIA). Maybe this should be brought in in football as well. You get a free substitution/replacement as long as the player passes the assessment and returns to the field of play within 15 minutes. Obviously, Wesley should not have continued to play.

With Prowsey, it's always been a case of playing him in his correct position. Playing Tadic as a No 10 releases the right mid position and now Davis is slightly on the wane, Prowsey is the best we have to play there. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Agree with this. Stephens is a good defender and played well at Old Trafford but we need more pace from our fullbacks, particularly at home.

We need somebody that was a decent creative midfielder on our coaching team, not another bloody goalie!! IMO.

Really don't know what to make of this. Can't see what qualifies him for the position but on the other hand he does know the philosophy of the club like the back of his hand!

Not big into conspiracy theories but this does seem strange. Has his back deteriorated that badly since the summer? If so why not just put him on sick leave, to have his operation (or whatever), so he could resume as soon as fit, like the playing staff would. The timing of the announcement does suggest there is more than meets the eye.
