And being able to defend long balls, long throw-ins and crosses into the box

This has been going on so long it was probably TSF or even S4E.

Nicholl for me. At the time he was pretty unpopular but his failing was that he didn't keep us up in the top 6 or 7, like Lawrie had. The football was a joy to watch though. Watching Casey spray 30/40 yard passes out to Tiss and Rod Wallace on the wings. Those were the days!

Exactly! 15 shares and they would have had to announce it to the LSE there and then.

Skacel didn't play. Official.

2-0 at Aldershot. No info on scorers though!

It's deja vu all over again!

Jan makes plans for when Kelvin is sold in January.

That wouldn't be anything new. I guess that is why on the takeover thread, the first position to be filled is head of medical.

I think most ST holders do buy because they see it a discounted way of going to see their team. Of course there are other benefits and it also means they don't have to go through the hassle of buying individual tickets. There are some, who see it as a prestige badge that says "I'm a better fan than you!", fortunately I think they're in the minority. Being a ST holder for 30 years (up until this season), although a little miffed about the discounts, I was all for trying to get the stadium full and if it meant discounts, so be it.

Played for Millwall in the Reserve game at Staplewood this week (mentioned at the foot of the Jaime White article). Must have impressed. However, if he's only in the Millwall Reserve team make you wonder how good he is?

Yes, but it's one of the major selling points of a ST that it works out at "x" number of games free (especially the early bird renewal).
-
Great goals, but the sad thing is that only 1 came in a winning performance.

What would you do if Mike Ashley bought Saints next?

Kelvin Davis- are saints fans the most fickle in the league?

Agree with all of that! -

Says more about our midfield than our goalkeeper TBH. But no! At least 3 of his kicks at Donny went straight out of play. I do like the fact that he has started to throw the ball out now, which he is obviously being encouraged to do by the new management. He certainly never did it in previous seasons, which is another thing that used to infuriate me. -

It's all to do with form and confidence. When KD is in form and is playing with confidence he is up their with the best (in this division), when he is not he can be a liability. What I will say about KD is that his shot stopping, on the whole is excellent and his positional play is good. This was also true of Paul Jones (a keeper of similar ability IMO). But these are not the only aspects by which you judge a good keeper, in the modern era. His catching is not the greatest, his command of his area is not very good and his kicking is terrible. Because he is playing so well at the moment, these aspects are not so noticable but are still there. -

Would he sit in the Northam with his beloved Saints' shirt on? -
Well said UP! You could probably add the constant stream of Tyre Kickers over the last 18 months, who were supposed to lead us to the promised land and at various times we have all hung our hat on. Many are just battle weary and have said enough is enough. The crowds will slowly return, when the stayaways (for want of a better word) see that progress is being made (that means both on and off the field) and that their £24 is not just going down the drain.

DMcG was born in Nottingham, so he's English. He qualifies for both England and Republic of Ireland (and probably Jamaica) through family but as far as I'm aware hasn't represented any of them.

As soon as Lowe and Wilde decided to take the club in this direction, this season has always been about surviving the drop. If we can (IF) and If we can keep all of our better youngsters (an even bigger IF), then next season, or the season after, we will be in a much better position to mount a promotion challenge.

Ed Chamberline found it hard to hide his excitement, when he announced that on SSN.

TBF, I think they did kick off 4-4-2 but as soon as John went off injured, which wasn't that far into the game, McG moved out to the right.

All football fans moan. It's what they do best. We moan more than most but then again, over the last 5 years, we have had more to moan about than most. HTH.
