I'd agree with you if the remainder of the team (particularly the defence) was primarily made up of experienced CCC players, to help and take the pressure of the youngsters. Also, will the first 3 on your list or the decent loanees like Cork and Pearce still be with us on February 1st? Many fans believe not.

BTW does anyone know why Kightly's 'goal' was disallowed?

Lowe coming back p'd a lot of people off, some stated they wouldn't set foot in St Mary's until he left the club (not that many, I would have thought), others support the club no matter who is in the boardroom. He then culled the first team squad, some necessary others less so. He removed the first popular manager we've had for years and replaced him with two Dutch coaches with not much of a track record and no experience of English football. He made some very popular people redundant. He loaned out the remainder of the experienced players and replaced them with teenagers. On the pitch we now have a youth/reserve team attempting to mix it with the big boys and although talented and playing some attractive football are sinking while trying to swim! In turn, this affects the results and we keep losing!! All this at the time of the credit crunch has erroded peoples enthusiasm and they are finding something better to do on a Saturday. In summary, I think Lowe's return has had a big impact on the dwindling attendances.

Directly? May be not. But by his actions since resuming control (whether one deemed them necessary, or not) I would say he has had a massive affect on crowd numbers.

Saints Greatest ever XI - Goalkeeper Nominations.

Absolutely, when you look back through our history and all the fantastic keepers we have had, KD is probably one of the poorest long-term first choice keepers we have ever had. But then again the whole team is certainly the poorest since I started going 37 years ago. -
You can see from this that the Wolves player was airborne and the ball was somewhere close to Surmans feet. Euell slid in nowhere near the Wolves player, who was coming from a completely different angle. If anything he was the wreckless one because both of his feet left the ground.
-
But if the Wolves player hadn't slid in at the angle that he did, there would have been no danger to him because they came from two different angles.
-
More importantly the name of Michael Svensson is on the team sheet. Let's hope it's not another false dawn.

Some are big enough to admit a mistake, alas I can't see this clown being one of them.

Absobloodylutely!!!

Got to be Shilton for me, even though we've had some damned fine keepers throughout the years. -
We've loaned them all out!!
-
He looked like a fish out of water yesterday. Nowhere near ready for the first team (mind you that could be said about a few this season).
-
That's a good point and the way Lancashire went off yesterday I doubt he'll be fit either.
-
NO HE DIDN'T!!! It was right in front of me. Three players slid in at the same time and Euell played the ball, their player slid into Euell and came off worse. As I said on the match thread, if you are going to send players off for 50/50 challenges, then you might as well disband football as a sport.
-
3 further observations: 1. Wolves for a team that are 6 points clear at the top, I thought they were pretty ordinary. 2. If Players are going to be sent off for 50/50 challenges like Ewell was, football might as well not exsist. 3. Gobern, on that performance will not be ready to play at this level for at least another 2 years.

This was much, much better than the Bristol City match. Apart from a 10 minute spell in the first half where the defence was an absolute shambles and we conceded the 2 goals, they missed a sitter and we could have let in one or 2 more (one good save from Kelvin). At that point with the ground singing "We want Rupert out!!" it seemed to galvanise the players, we immediatelty won a corner, scored from it and then dominated the rest of the game. If it wasn't for the sh!t referee and a coat of paint on the right-hand Chapel end post, we would have got something out of the game.
-
You mean he should have conceded more than 9?
-
If form has anything to do with it Wolves will win comfortably. I'm clutching at the straw that says we have always had a good record (could even be seen as a bogey team) against Wolves. Therefore Saints 2-1.

How many players have played in the first team since relegation?

How to ruin a football club in less than 5 years
krissyboy31 replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Both Strachan and RedKrapp stated that the squad they took over was too big and both wanted to thin it out and pay more in wages to get a better but leaner squad (with a similar overall salary burden). Because of Lowe's glass ceiling on wages neither was allowed to do that. Strachan put up with it for so long until he couldn't take the club any further under these restraints. RedKrapp was never going to be able to keep to Lowe's policy and hence he lost interest in the job very quickly. -

At that time we DID have the money to kick on with better players. The trouble is Lowe kept spouting the ultra prudent "We will not do a Leeds" line. He thought we had made it and that no more investment was required in the team. In any business, you can not stand still. All the teams around us were strengthening while we were buying players that where ever worse or no better than we already had because they fitted the wage structure. We ended up with a massive squad of very average players. By not investing then, his ultra prudence has caused us to do a Leeds, all bar the shouting. We stayed up by the skin of our teeth last season and this season if we carry on culling at the rate we are currently, we have no chance of survival (either from the drop or administration). -
I think it's playing for 3 different clubs in the same FIFA transfer year. Morgan has only played for us this year having transferred in Europe's closed season.

Seems to me that every match is "just too soon" for Killer. He or the club should set a target. If he is ready willing and able to make that target, then fine but if not he should call it a day. We can no longer pin our hopes on Killer's more and more unlikely second coming.

He'll fit in just fine then!!
