  1. Maybe the "Wilde Family's" next project is a multi-million pound restoration of Southampton Football Club? Perhaps not!!
  2. I would like us to get back to the team that used to give the big boys a bloody nose every so often (and I don't mean Bristol City).
  3. I was thinking the very same on Saturday at times. Not just of Lancashire but of the whole team. We had a team with an average age of around 20, yet there was no pace.
  4. I don't think who we play up front will make the slightest difference on Saturday. It's who we're going to have to play at the back that scares me sh!tless!!
  5. Mark Dennis for me. Great player in Saints' best ever team. Bridge, Peach, Statham and Bale all deserve a mention (although Bale didn't play enough games for us to really be included). Just a question!! Why the left back before the right back? Or am I the only one that still thinks of the RB wearing No.2 and LB wearing No.3?
  6. I think the only player from the modern era to come anywhere near Ron's heading ability is Shearer. Good to hear Ron's doing well!!
  7. I bought mine for Wolves on Saturday morning and although they had sold their full allocation and I have a customer number from 30 years of being an ST holder, I was not asked for either the customer number nor my name & address.
  8. Nah, a good old fashioned pre-emptive witch-hunt is much more fun!!
  9. My God!! Were you at the Wolves game? Lallana was immense, covered every blade of grass on the pitch, covering, tackling, closing down and setting up opportunities from first minute to last. He was the main reason that in the second half, we looked like we had the numerical advantage, despite being down to 10 men.
  10. God, could you imagine having to share a seat with that ***t every other week? Even fellow Skates wouldn't do that!!
  11. I agree with most of that, however the problem is WHY are people staying away? We've all got our ideas on that but IMO is because of the contemptuos way the fanbase has been treated (and continues to be treated) by various administrations dating back to Alan Woodford's reign as Chairman. We are continuously told that a Football Club must be run as a business but I know of no other business that holds its customers in such contempt. I think that the powers that be, (which now, once again, is Lowe and Wilde) thought the fans would turn up week after week, whatever sh!t was thrown at them. I think they are now finding out that this is no longer the case. In any other consumer based business the Board of Directors that oversaw such a drastic drop in customers and income, would have been ousted months ago. As M&S found out, if you get the product right, the customers will return but until we have a much more professional management team (from boardroom to bootroom) I feel the fanbase is going to dwindle further.
  12. Going to hold a minute's applause!
  13. Good effort Pancake. I have to say though, they are simply :vom: worthy!!
  14. Would have to have an SO post code IMO!
  15. Funny you should say that!! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/3859828.Pompey_stadium_plans_in_danger/
  16. He said so!! HTH
  17. Who said anything about next England Manager? Yes, he was an unpopular choice when he first took over but that was because nobody really knew that much about him. I took a different view in that all the names being banded round here were the usual suspects who go round and round on the managerial merry-go-round and who have been a failure (in most cases) at several clubs. The fact that Alex Ferguson and the like rated him was good enough for me and he turned around an unfit, unmotivated shambles of a team that was spiralling towards relegation, in a very short space of time. He seems to have done the same with Leicester which is their gain and our loss.
  18. Do we know if Lancashire is going to be fit? He didn't look too crash hot when he went off on Saturday.
  19. Exactly right! And of course the fact that for the first time in ages we had a manager that was popular with more than 50% of the fanbase. A fanbase that may well not of abandoned the club as quickly, had he had been reappointed.
  20. He'd be a decent right back for us now though!
  21. If the FA panel deem the appeal to be frivolous, then they add an extra game. They obviously thought we had a case but not enough of one to recind the card.
  22. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10930 Ban upheld!!! Buggar!!
  23. Pearce can't play on Saturday under his loan agreement.
  24. A tad harsh on Le Saux and Telfer, who both did a decent job for us. You forgot Bernard, Brennan, Makin and Ifill. Err yep your right! Our full back positions, paticularly on the right, have been pretty crap for a number of years.
  25. He're a novel idea!! Let's sign a right-back so that we do not have to constantly play players out of position to cover the void. James confidence was shot by being played there. Cork is doing an resonable job there but his talents are wasted there IMO. Perry and Wooton are way too slow to play RB and Gillett will continuable be done with the long diagonal ball (as James was v Donny Rovers), plus he is predominantly left sided.
