Unlike Cork, who is nowhere near the Chelsea first team, Pearce could possibly be required by Reading if they have a few injuries. Therefore it is very unlikely they would allow us to play him in the FA Cup, while they are still in the competition.
-
I would be delighted if he were to stay. But he was being interviewed in Southampton General Hospital on the Santa run. As I said, he's hardly going to say anything adverse, is he?
-
Yes I have actually, both on the OS and on the Echo. I just think people read too much into these reports, whether they have positive spin or negative spin. It's all smoke and mirrors and I'd much rather just wait and see, than pencil Cork (or Lallana, or Surman, or Saganowski etc. etc.) into the team for the rest of the season.
-
I wouldn't read too much into it TBH. When cornered into a sound bite whilst dishing out presents to the kids in hospital, he's hardly going to say that he's hating every minute of it and can't wait to get back to Chelsea, is he?
-
It might have been poor but it was light years ahead of what we have now.
-
This is the crux. Robertson, Pekhart, McGoldrick etc. are not necessarily bad players but none of them are comfortable (or even capable) of playing the system they are being asked. Maybe it's time to see if we can change the system to suit the personell? I'm not holding my breath though!

So would most of us but it doesn't look like happening under the current regime.

We've got a point a game so far, which is enough to keep us out the bottom 3 at the moment. I reckon a point a game from now on, is the best we can hope for. Let's just hope that is still enough to keep us out of the bottom 3.

WGS used to call it propaganda football. Look nice and tidy on the ball but have no end product. We are one dimensional making it easy for the opposition to defend against us.

It's on telly so 4-1 Palace.

I think the first right back i saw was Joe Kirkup but In my time, 3 stand out: Ivan Golac, Jason Dodd and Mick Mills. Although probably the least talented of the trio, because of longetivity and consistent performance over 10 or so years, my vote goes to Dodd (just). -
I doubt it, as he's currently playing for the Scottish U21's
-
I bet that when they first 'signed us up' (and Norwich for that matter) they expected us to make a swift return to the Premiership though. Then the brand is shown world-wide.
-
Obviously but so is deflecting blame to unnamed Premiership clubs.
-
There's a difference between saying "we do not have to sell" and "we are not selling".
-
The old "It's not us, it's the others" routine. Bet he didn't say they wouldn't be sold though?
-
I'm surprised at Flybe extention. Wouldn't have thought they have particularly had value for money over the last few years. I suppose we do have our fair share of tv appearances though, albeit losing ones.

I am not aware of SCC ever putting public money into building anything (apart from feasibility study after feasibility study). That's why whenever any project is muted it is either scaled down, postponed or abandoned all together and all the city has got is a shopping centre. Fnck knows what they do with the Council Tax and Bridge Tolls.

The problem here is people are talking as if the loanees are our players. They are not!! If we manage to extend their loans and that is a big IF, their parent clubs will have instant recall on them. I would love to keep Cork and don't really see him as part of Chelsea's immediate plans but if another Premiership club were to come in for him, we would lose out. It's interesting people's opinions of Pearce because he has only played 2 1/2 games of the 5 we've played since his arrival, therefore surely too early to make any real decision. Robertson's been no better than average and Smith and Peckhart haven't done anything. I think if we lose Surman and Lallana, we will get relegated and that would almost certainly lead to administration anyway.

Curses!! Trousers beat me to it!!! http://www.evertonfc.com/academy/lee-molyneux.html

Er! No! With all of those on the right, we were 4th in the Premiership at Christmas in 2003, with all those on the left we are 6th bottom of the CCC coming upto Christmas 2008. Scrachan's team of 2002 and 2003 would murder our current team.

This is true but McCann was only a bit-part player and a fit Chris Marsden would always have been picked ahead of him. Is Skacel a better player that Marsden? May be, but for what Marsden brought to the team, I'd have him in my team any day of the week (and I'm a Rudi fan).

I think it's called Journalistic Licence. The've looked at Jones' statement to the LSE, when the EoY figures were released, probably at the Echo's report and who knows? Could quite easily of taken a look at this site, where posters have been quite open of their expectations of Lallana and Surman being sold. The've also looked at which of our players realistically will demand the sort of fee required for a short-term fix and to be honest these two are really the only options. I hope they are way off the mark but I wouldn't stake my house on it.

May be Lallana in the Ormerod roll but the rest would be squad players at best.

Campbell has only just made his U21 debut, since he's been at Spurs. Before last season he had no experience playing in the English leagues, he had spent 1 season playing in Belgium for Royal Antwerp. I'll give you he played with Folan but Windass hardly played, he would invariably come off the bench and replace the aforementioned Campbell for the last 10 minutes. And, when Campbell was signed by Hull City, where were they? Oh yes, bottom half of CCC. So are you saying are 'fantastic academy' is there to produce us bottom half CCC players? If so, then your right DMG is probably a good enough player.
