  1. Well that was a strange game. Should have won by more Forster was a spectator most of the game but just how good were Morgan and Victor? Just untouchable!!
  2. Quite a subjective subject this, a lot of the players that come into the category were at the end of their careers, not the players they were at their peak (we probably wouldn't have afforded them then anyway) and suffering from persistant injuries. If you're including Delgard for not taking the club's advise on getting his knee fixed, you could include Ekelund for the same with his back and he patently wanted to be here and preformed above expectations. Some were makeweights in transfers going the other way, like Ripley, Speedie and Dixon which is generally not a good ideavbut then, so was Beattie and he was an unqualified success.
  3. This! Got a real chance now to change that.
  4. What about shots to goals ratio?
  5. Us to win, that is all!!
  6. is better than ???
  7. Joshua Tree has a good mix of home and away fans.
  8. I think RK will bring in Big Vic but would think Long is more suited to the physical battle that Shawcross will bring.
  9. Who gives a sh!t what that w@nka thinks?!!!
  10. Happens when I can't get to the game. Next week has Nil all written all over it!!
  11. This fixture was on Liverpool TV last season but doesn't appear to be tonight.
  12. I wonder if that's a bit of creative accountancy to get round FFP. The training complex cost £200 million and the team £25k, honest Guv!!!
  13. THey are talking about thousands of people coming into the country from infected areas, which could be a damn site larger by the time the competition kicks off.
  14. There was actually an amount of philosophical pessimism going into the world cup but nobody foresaw just how bad we would be. Hodgson should have been replaced then!
  15. Including the African federation, who have insisted it will go ahead even when the hosts no longer want it (needs a trousers like picture of an ostrich with it's head in ths sand here).
  16. Works for Arsenal.
  17. At times last night he was playing with two defensive midfielders, when he hardly had to play with a defence. He's a negative/play safe pr!ck.
  18. Just fed up with us not producing our own songs. The Manchester clubs seem to do it on a regular basis. I was brought up on the 70's Milton Road terrace, where there seemed to be new ditties springing up regularly and many of them were unique to us. Popular music started with the skiffle bands of the 50's, so is over 60 years old. There must be hundreds of thousands of tunes that have not yet found there way onto a football terrace but every song we sing is to the tune of half a dozen songs and all a rip-off of somebody else. Right rant over!!! I will have a go. I don't think anybody has done anything to the tune of Keane/Lilly Allen's "Somewhere Only We Go" but if they have I apologise in advance (as I do for the weak content of the song) but here goes! Our striker's name is Pelle, Graziano, cracking goals, our big Italiano Acrobatic volleys, he's the man oh Our big number 19 is Pelle, Graziano!
  19. Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't done as a festival over a bank holiday weekend all in the same city. Melbourne on Australia day, in the middle of the inevitable northern hemisphere winter break. A bit of a foreign, grander version of Rugby League's Magic weekend.
  20. Here's an idea! Let's sin a son that isn 't a copy of somebody else's sh!tty song!
  21. Seems to be one of those players who rises to the next challenge seamlessly. Excellent in L1 but wasn't sure he would be all that at Championship level. Proved more than capable but would he cut it in the Premier League? Many doubted it, including the management because his replacement has been signed several times but he has seen them off, not just to stay in the squad but be a shoe in for the starting XI as captain. Hopefully he can rise to the challenge of international football as well!
  22. Ashton can't wait to discredit the club and everybody involved with it, at any opportunity.
  23. Jeremy Wilson does seem to be too informed and well educated to be a journo! He was telling the story on "Sunday Supplement" last week but you got the impression that Ashton and the rest of his cronies didn't really want to listen because it doesn't fit with their agenda. Interesting that he says they've already identified their next transfer targets.
  24. Well deserved but should have happened last season.
  25. Harsh on Wright, at least he played. Molyneaux and Pulis on the other hand......
