  1. What I don't understand is, in PLC company, isn't there supposed to be a proper selection process? I know in companies I've worked for, if a position became available, even if the successful candidate was 'predetermined' they have had to advertise the position both internally and externally and hold interviews etc. If they hadn't followed that course and someone was just given the job, the unions would have gone barmy. Now I know somebody has to take temporary control (and Wotte is the obvious choice), but surely the club has at least got to be seen to be recruiting the right person, even if after the interview stage they decide Wotte is still that person? Does anyone know what the company's or PFA's and LMA's rules are on this?
  2. He seemed to be playing up the middle, off of Jason Scotland, where his pace can really count. On the wing he tends to go up blind alleys, a bit like when Walcott first played for the first team. Theo was much more affective once moved into the middle because defenders couldn't touch him in and around the area.
  3. TBH I wish they would ALL fnck off and ruin someone else's club.
  4. Not as many as Dyer scoring at fratton!!
  5. Alfie Ronnie! Me thinks he's been watching too much Eastenders!
  6. Or Charlie Wayman? All before my time but great strikers, all the same.
  7. I can't really go for Chivers because I only saw him play live once and that was for Spurs. Moran and Pahars have been mentioned but I'm going to go for Frankie Worthington. Only played for us for a short while and was past his best but his touch and vision was as good, if not better, than any player I've seen pull on the famous red and white.
  8. As I said on the 'Crisis Meeting' thread, Lowe had the perfect opportunity to deflect attention and buy himself more time by appointing a PROPER manager. Now we have this, which in my opinion is worse than the 'do nothing' policy, most of us assumed he'd adopted.
  9. I have to say that Nick's attitude and opinion of Lowe seems to be changing. He didn't come out and directly criticise him, as such but there seemed to be a few veiled digs.
  10. Agreed! If I were picking the team (from what we've got) that would be it. However, as you say, DMcG will not be dropped.
  11. I thought that's how you got your user name! :smt103
  12. Lowe is a bigger idiot than I ever took him for. He had the chance to deflect the fans anger away from himself by sacking his inept Head Coach and replacing him with a proper manager that the fans could have rallied around and in his usual pig-headed, "Rupert knows best!" style, gave a glowing endorsement of his revolutionary coaching team. Were 2nd from bottom of a sh!t division FFS!!
  13. No you won't because many of them will not be coming back. Going to footy is a habit. When you are a kid, probably being brought along by Dad or an older brother, the experience is overwhelming and you just want to come again and again! When it becomes a chore, or too expensive, or you hate what is happening at the club, you let your season ticket lapse. With no season ticket, you still have the intention of going to most games but because you no longer have an automatic ticket, you pick and choose your games. The more the chore, or how p!ssed off you are, the less games you go to. Then the habit is broken and all of a sudden, there's something better to do on a Saturday than go to the game and you stop going all together. Once that happens you are lost as a supporter and may never come back!
  14. I thought at the time we couldn't afford NOT to employ him. After today I'm certain about it.
  15. As CEO of Secure Retirements (or whatever it was called), setting up a meeting with one Guy Askham.
  16. I think long-term Hoddle would be a good choice but I think at the moment we need more a 'roll the sleeves up', 'matter of fact' manager to get the organisation, fitness, shape and targets of the team sorted out. Exactly what Pearson did this time last season. Right now I would go for Dowie.
  17. I agree! From where I was sitting, pretty much in line, he was at least a yard offside. Couldn't believe it when the Lino didn't raise his flag.
  18. He was poor at the start of the game but I thought once he stopped falling over he came into it more and played a lot better. I thought he dealt with the 3 man defence situation much better than James did. P.S. I thought it was a disgrace that he had to carry the can for the post match interviews. The guy's been here 2 weeks and he must be thinking what the fnck has he let himself in for?
  19. Although not convinced long-term, Dowie would be ideal right now.
  20. I was utterly confused with his tactics (or lack of them) in the second half and I think there were 11 players in red & white equally confused.
  21. A honest appraisal of where we are IMO. Today was a disaster both on and off the pitch. This club is tearing itself apart and until Lowe, Wilde and Askham leave, we will never be united.
  22. Definately agree and the overall matchday turnover would increase due to extra bar, catering, programme and instore sales.
  23. Sounds pretty reasonable but I'd have the under 16 prices slighty less at a tenner and a 16-19 year old at £15. I'd also make 1000 tickets available in the Chapel End every game, for Tyro/Junior League teams @ £2 on a first come, first served basis.
