I agree. I think he has played much better since Wotte has taken over and started playing him in his proper position (can't comment on last night because I wasn't there). I think his main problem is that he is expected to carry, what most of the season has been a sh!t team. Put him in the Villa team and IMO, he'll show just what a good player he is.

They do all say that though, whoever they are. We've had players sign because we are a "massive club". It's usual speil. Remember Lowe took over that closed season and Souness and McMenemy, I believe, had offered him a contract but Souness and LMc both walked and for whatever reason Berkovic didn't sign. Maybe, like Souness, he took one look at Lowe and thought "I'm off!"

Not quite true. He was on loan to us and would probably have signed permenantly had Souness not resigned. He went back to Haifa believing that Souness would take him to Torino. That fell through and he signed for West Ham.

I'm pretty damn sure that if any team (and that includes Charlton) won all the rest of their games, they would stay up.

You could put it like that (we've also got games against Derby, Watford, Charlton and Palace, none of whom are yet out of it). However, all of the other teams could say the same because they've got Southampton, plus team 'A', plus team 'B' still to play. The likelihood IMO, is that we will need 52 points to stay up. That is another 15 from the final 10 games. Still very much a tall order.

Looks the most sensible option. You could bring in Molyneux and move Skacel in the hole or drop Surman back to LB bring in AN Other to LM (depending on who is fit or available) and use Skacel in the hole. Another possibility is using Surman in the hole with Molyneux at LB and Skacel at LM.

We will lose at Watford, we always do! My gut feeling is 2 wins and 2 draws from the 5 games.
