  1. What has any of them, for that matter? I think he is potentially our best outfield player and the one who would give his all for the club.
  2. Davis will walk Player of the Season but I don't think we can build the team around a GK. For me it would have to be Surman.
  3. Or maybe Cedar??
  4. I definately do not want Le Tiss as manager. I want to remember him as the the absolute genius of a player that he was and not the hopeless sh!t manager, incapable of building a team good enough to challenge for promotion from the dizzy depths of League 1. A total clean sweep from the board-room and a manager that has no historic links to SFC is the way to go IMO. We've had too much sentimentality in the past when it has come to promoting from within or keeping crocked players, in the hope that they will come good, eventually.
  5. Strange request! Are you building a gallows?
  6. Lol, if it wasn't for this forum, the football pages of the SDE would be blank.
  7. He is an Arsenal fan but like Jeff Stelling, has a soft spot for Saints because he has lived locally (Salisbury, I believe) for many years.
  8. Ticketless fans were a way of life back then because there were so few all-ticket games, that most people believed that they could get into the ground, whether they had a ticket or not. I, myself, managed to blag my way into Wembley for 2 FA Cup finals in the 80's, without tickets. I think the design of the terrace and the "brilliant idea" of fencing and penning the fans in was the biggest contributory factor to this disaster. As a previous poster has stated, when we played the '84 quarter final there, that middle pen was dangerously overloaded and could have caused a similar tragedy. If Highbury had have been designed in a similar way, we would most certainly been involved in a monumental tragedy, the first away game after Keegan signed (not an all ticket game). That evening there was an official crowd of something like 53,000 but anyone who was there, will confirm there was at least half as many again at the game. The police there, opened several gates to let the crowds in and my brothers and I ended up in the North Bank (only getting in at half-time) and I swear my feet hardly touched the ground until we left the stadium.

  12. I think if it's basically winner stays up, then it will almost certainly be on the box. Wolves will already be promoted but if, the second automatic spot is still up for grabs, the other match shown will include the team in the box seat for that.
  13. Saints v Nottm Forest at the Dell in 1971. We won 4-1 and I thought this "supporting Saints business" was easy. Little did I know!
  14. Until we hear the other results.
  15. Indeed! Nor does it stop the new owners being a major shareholder (i.e. joint ownership) in SMS Ltd. That way, the football club could may be, play rent free with the revenue streams from the various stadium events, split 50-50 between the club and SCC.
  16. Also, the £1 offer is for 16yo's and under, therefore not just the 6 to 13's usually associated with these type of offers.
  17. If we had started the season with this team, then we would more than likely not be in this position. Now with a lack of confidence and the pressure of playing catchup football (and the shambles going on behind the scenes) we look odds-on to go down.
  18. No!! In English please.
  19. Well, at least I got it!
  20. Isn't that the away shirt? I thought the voucher deal was on the home shirt which is still full price?
  21. Wrong brother! No?
  22. I would have thought he was more likely to invest in or buy out Rose Bowl PLC in advance of the T20 English Premier League being launched. That might well free up funds for Rod Bransgrove though???
  23. I know all that! My point is that we now have bids on the table, which because of the rediculous politics of the club (under Lowe, Wilde, Hone, Crouch and Lowe & Wilde, their back-biting and completely inflated share asking price), we never managed before.
  24. I actually think that is the best part of the situation we find ourselves in. MF has none of the baggage (disrespect, dislike, mis-trust, spite, oneupmanship etc.) that has blighted our club for the last 5 years.
