  1. Meantime in P*rtsm*uth where all TV's (as we know) are calibrated "home fans bestest ever!" Anfield is rocking.
  2. Doesn't necessarily have to be a local team. There are several friendly tournaments around the world set up by the Premier League or various sponsors. We'll probably end up playing Stoke City in Beijing.
  3. Looks from that, there are quite a few things that have to be put into place before even the preparation work is able to commence.
  4. Could be changes to original planning submission, that happened several times to the previous phases?
  5. I think Ralph said at the MLP opening the next stage was facilities for the junior teams.
  6. Conspiracy theory time: What if Cortese signed an agreement with AN Other kit manufacturer for this season, cancelling the Adidas one for no other reason that they had ****ed him off and he found someone else that would deliver what he wanted? Adidas refused to step aside and threatened to sue the club for millions. The new management set up has a binding agreement with two different companies and has to pick up the pieces. They renegotiate with A N Other to start after the Adidas contract runs out but by the time this renegotiation has been complete Adidas couldn't deliver the shirt for this season. Because of this, they agree to us developing our own shirt for this season on the condition their contract is completed next season. We are then free to take up the contract with A N Other the following season.
  7. We open the pathway to their first team better than they do?? Probably correct!!
  8. From the FAY Cup in December That Mirror report was from April last year before the current Management and Coaching team were in place. Seeing a few of his peers sign longterm contracts and being fast tracked into the first team should sway his decision whether to sign pro here.
  9. I see 4 more Aussies have been added to the Elite Development squad. Shouldn't we be spending more time developing our own?
  10. Long was back in training today.
  11. Nah. Stripes with a sash, blue shorts and a new sponsor.
  12. Why sign a two year deal if it was evident from the start it was only going to last one year?
  13. Especially if it's some crass far eastern betting company!!
  14. I thought it was a Gypsy term of endearment and used instead of darling!!
  15. When we were kids it was "going over the the floaty, 'safty with some nippas to watch Saints from the chockies!!"
  16. IIRC The B side to the Woolston Ferry was a song called (something like) It's Great to be Back in Southampton, which was full of Southampton slang.
  17. Fletcher put building bocks in place.
  18. I read somewhere that they were re-branding under their New Balance label.
  19. "Stay Humble?" We're sh!t!! Just wish English Cricket had a Les Reed type visionary character in charge but it's still the old school tie brigade it always has been!! When Duncan Fletcher was coach he had a plan to get English Cricket to the top and he did it. We had absolutely no plan as to how to stay there. Anyone outside the "elite" who thinks outside the box are castigated as a bad influence or trouble maker, so we continuously get this thinking inside the box, the cricket box i.e. bo!!ocls.
  20. He's an arrogant prck but he's still the best batsman we've got.
  21. Just how sh!t were England today!! Embarrassing how poor they are at this form of cricket and yet the same old faces get picked time after time. 2 English players smashed it in the recent Big Bash in Australian conditions, against predominantly Australian bowlers,; Kevin Pieterson and Michael Carberry, yet because of the selector's collective pig-headedness, neither of them are anywhere near the squad. And don't get me started of the bowling!! Why can't we find somebody called Mitchell that can bowl at 150K's?
  22. Remember when I was a small boy we'd have to get to the Dell about 1pm for when the gates opened so that we got a decent vantage point in the Chocolate boxes,
  23. You sometimes get the feeling when players go out on loan, they're on the way out the door. Obviously not in JT's case.
  24. I read it as a continuation of the aborted deal, so 3rd year of 3.
  25. I read that as YMCA!!!
