Nicely put Phil.... I just spoke to UniGlobe who deal with all of our travel for the business.... apparently any flights out of HK to any open European airports are full.... I believe these are only scheduled flights and like you said the extra planes sat there could be sent to Spain/Greece etc!!! I shall email Hong Kong International Airport now!!!

This could well be true... I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands of people like me stuck in HK or somewhere similar!!! I keep hearing Gordon Brown is getting people back from Spain and France etc, but what about those of us that are further out?!? Does he have any plans?!?! I'm trying to get to Spain in the next few days and then overnight train to Paris and eurostar it back. There are still 1st class tickets left on most eurostar trains so seeing as work is paying, I will demand one of those!!

I'm still scheduled on the friday morning flight out of HK.... So I'm hoping the gradual opening of EU airports means that LHR will open before then and I will be on my way....... If not, it's the next flight to spain with a couple of train rides!!!! At least I'll get to see some sights!!!

Cheers Phil, I can check in up to 48 hours before and I will get to the airport 5 hours early if I need too!!!! My company are already on the case about alternative ways for me to get home.... i.e. the madrid thing then train it up to france etc.... We will see I suppose!!!!

So I'm currently in Hong Kong on business with a scheduled flight to the UK on Friday 23rd..... If the ban gets lifted and flights start happening.... I assume I will be OK? And that stranded people don't get on there before me?!?!

Same here, landed in Sydney at 8pm yesterday! Had a ticket for the game too and was a little bit ****ed off when the company sent me out here... I knew it would be one I didn't want to miss!!!

Stupid thing I know, however is the Date/Time set correctly on the laptop, specifically the year. A friend had a similar problem..... it took me a while to figure it out!!

I'd be quite surprised if you have to pay for incoming faxes, however I can understand there would be line rental for a BT line that the fax is plugged in to. Does your office use a decent up to spec IP Phone system? If so alot of them allow you to setup an extension and purchase a converter for a one off fee.... Just a thought and I might be barking up the wrong tree completely!!!

Stevo, Microsoft's ISA server would be best for this...... or an equivalent as I understand it's quite expensive.....
