  1. That's a very perceptive analysis. Why is it that you can see it but others can't?
  2. First division, maybe. (new money)
  3. I agree. I lost count of the number of times I saw us attacking with two wide men, DMG alone in the middle, and there were 7 Blackpool players defending in a semicircle based on the edge of their penalty area. Our midfield took an age to get up in support.
  4. Oh, if only it were that simple
  5. I don't think that Plan A didn't work. It was more a case of not playing it as well as we have been recently. To be fair to him, Gillett never tried to hide and was always looking for the ball. Somehw the zip and verve was missing today.
  6. You're right, of course. I forgot that he was on the pitch. He will be 19 on the 8th November. Oops.
  7. Did anybody else notice that Hammil's substitution went wrong? The substitute ran on the pitch and the stadium announcer told us all about it but the referee was the last to know. He had to ask a Blackpool player to find out who was going off.
  8. A fair summary IMO.
  9. That was handball in anybody's language. I looked straight to the assistant expecting him to flag. I think he left it to the referee. There were other handballs that he gave that were less 'deliberate'.
  10. It was the first game of the season and we let in 4 goals. Should everybody have cheered?
  11. I quite like the look of that. Let's forget today and get on with the next game! That's on SKY too.
  12. Can we please stop calling them kids? They're all over 20 (apart from White). Most of the army is younger.
  13. There wasn't a lot of it, tbf. I can't remember myself, were there boos after the Palace game last year?
  14. Agreed, there is a long way to go, but if these 'lads' are ever going to develop into professional footballers they will have to experience all aspects of playing in front of paying customers, the poor diddums.
  15. and how many defeats?
  16. Cardiff scored first, and no, we didn't deserve anything out of that game. Blackpool were better in every position except keeper.
  17. I don't see why anybody should have to make allowances just because they are a load of kids. If they are wearing Saints shirts and we are paying full prices then we are entitled to expect better than what we saw today. Is anybody suggesting that if we had suffered that performance last season then nobody should have booed them off?
  18. Yep, that's how it was.
  19. I assume that you mean 'whoever conceded first' ?
  20. If you pay your money then you can cheer or boo as you please. That performance today was drossier than last year's dross.
  21. I don't think I'll bother. I went up to Millmoor the last time that they beat us. They play at the Don Valley Stadium now, I believe. It could have been worse. We could have drawn them at SMS.
  22. I agree with you in the most part, he only made a couple of factually wrong decisions. The two officials missed a blatant handball late in the second half, and he was wrong not to play advantage when Dyer was pulled back so that he could give the Blackpool player a booking. There was one occasion when our players seemed determined not to take the kick from the right place. James was unluck to get booked for what I did not consider to be fouls.
  23. He had no choice, there were two balls on the pitch. For 'outside interference' of any kind - drop ball. Blame the stupid multi-ball system.
  24. 4 minutes. Had it been 40, we still wouldn't have scored.
  25. That seems like a good place to stop.
