Based purely on last night's performance you're absolutely right. This was my first game of the season tonight and I have to say that I was horrified. Man for man we were ten times better than Swindon on paper. For them to play like that the manager has to take some blame. I'm not advocating sacking him or anything like that but if they carry on like this for more than another 3 games there will be fans calling for his head and quite rightly so. Last night was nothing to do with fitness or lack of pre-season prep. It was the wrong side, the wrong formation, the wrong tactics and wrong timing on substitutions. Kelvin and Dan Harding were the only two to come out with any credit.

I'm just back from the game. I fully realise that we need to be patient and time may well deliver results. However, some of the players are simply not good enough and some just don't have the bottle for a fight (i.e. Lallana and Schneiderlin - two fancy dans who bottle it in a 50/50). But above all tonight, Mr Pardew got his team selection very badly wrong. That worries me. He picked the wrong side and he was also tactically inept in terms of his formation and substitutions. You could feel the crowd turning on him and the players tonight and that is not good. For those who think that we have a chance of reaching the playoffs stop dreaming now. If we avoid relegation this season that will be a success. In the first half tonight we were truly dreadful - the second half was marginally better. Mr Pardew. You got it wrong tonight mate. Put your hands up and admit it and don't try and fool the fans.

Just had a call from a good friend who supports Colchester. To say he is ****ed off is an understatement. Hammond is the key man in their side. The majority of their play is done through him. He's big and commanding, a good tackler, very good in the air and knows where the net is. Stick him right in the middle of the park and use him as the axis around which everything revolves. Sounds a good signing.

I don't often post on this site but read it every day and I have to say that you are possibly the most negative, miserable sod I've ever had the misfortune to not know. God knows what it must be like to be you, but I suggest you go and take a happy pill of some sort. Alternatively, cheer us all up by jumping off the nearest bridge and stop posting on here unless you have something even vaguely positive to say.

Everyone calm down. I can talk from a working perspective on these type of deals, that there is a lot of brinksmanship when you get down to nailing the final terms. Fry may be wanting a bit more cash and Pinnacle and/or whoever are holding out until the last minute to see if they have to up their bid. There are a lot of games involved - at the end of the day its a business transaction and everyone wants to get the best deal they can. I have seen administrators and their ilk use these kind of words many times before and 99 times out of a 100 a deal is done. It will happen here, I'm very confident about that.
