  1. Great post. Apologies to any Brighton fan reading some of the anti-Brighton ****e on this thread. We have our share of retards also. You showed the rest of League One this season how it's done. We should just scrape second but it's going to be close.
  2. That's because if we get promoted, with his promotion bonus he can afford to ensure that he gets a cell to himself
  3. No matter how many times I do the BBC predictor I have us getting promoted in second but only on goal difference over Huddersfield. Going into the last game we are level on points. So if you were offered now the option of knowing that a win at home to Walsall on the last day would guarantee automatic promotion, would you take it?
  4. Tonight I sat in the Chapel for the first time ever because I was with the old man and he doesn't like standing in the Northam. My son couldn't come tonight - we always have been in the Northam. Got to say that it was like a funeral parlour in the Chapel. I won't be going there again. My old man will have to stand next time or he isn't coming with me again because I can't put up with that for another 90 minutes!
  5. 26 points is now the max we need from our last ten games to guarantee promotion. That is 8 wins and 2 draws which is the exact form we have had over our past 5 games. And this is assuming that Peterboro or Hudders win all of the rest of their games which in itself is not possible as they play each other. I reckon that 22 points max will definitely do it. We will do this chaps. We're going up.
  6. Derry - I've followed the posts on the Howard matter and obviously you have a connection with him but I do have to say that you have sold him (and are still selling him) as some kind of footballing god. If you're quite honest to yourself, he simply isn't that good. He's not bad but he's not the answer to all of our problems. I'm not convinced he would have been the answer to any of our problems. You're just going to have to let this one go as your judgment on this appears a bit clouded because of your connection. No offence intened, just an observation from a fellow fan.
  7. ......but not Barnard - yet.... But gave me a heart scare when I saw the headline http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-12846460
  8. It's not. Logic tells me however that we need some cover and the people that matter know that more than anyone. Morgan is out for the rest of season. AL is possibly injury prone and we have the chance of one or two others missing games between now and the end of the season because of injuries and/or suspensions. We have cover in defence and up front but we need cover in the middle. I would guess that we will get in a central midfielder on loan today. The club has changed in the last two years and we won't get to hear about it until it happens. Promotion is in our own hands and I really cannot believe for a minute that we will take any chances of letting promotion slip away. The club has been run properly and professionally since Cortese arrived. That won't change now.
  9. We will have a signing by 5pm today
  10. One name - Robbie Savage.
  11. I think we will win this on Saturday and fairly comfortably so. The reason I say this with some confidence is because I think we have a team of players who are very confident (too confident) in their own abilities and know that we have the strongest squad in this league. This is good but as we have seen it is also bad. I saw in the game against Swindon on Saturday a complacency that worried me after we went 1-0 up. They thought they were going to stroll it. It wasn't until Swindon scored that we got our arses in gear again. Having come out 4-1 winners, I believe that they went to Walsall last night (as they have done to other lower teams such as Tranmere) believing that victory was certain. Against Colchester the players will know they are up against a top side - at least at home. It is up to the boss to temper this arrogance but only temper it - not beat it out of them.
  12. We will be fine if we can keep our current squad fit. My big concern is that if we lose AL again for a few games or lose Lambert we will struggle to make 2nd.
  13. Is Fergie referring to AOC in this article? http://sport.uk.msn.com/football/news/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=156115442
  14. I bloody hope he's wrong. We need this cup run to end now with a respectable 2-1 defeat
  15. As I work in Leicester I was just speaking with some LCFC season ticket holders. They are surprised that he's not playing for them this season. He's big, powerful, pretty quick and when his head is in the right place then he's a very good player. That will be the key thing here. Adkins will need to manage him carefully but this could be an inspired loan deal.
  16. As we demonstrated with Fonte, and now even more so considering our league position, we could potentially attract right midfielders from either abroad or the Championship. I don't believe that Alex is the best right sided midfielder outside of the premiership. The players that we would bring in would also have to be better than players we currently have in our first team. We would still be winning matches at the moment with or without Alex in the team. We are that good.
  17. I would flog him for £10 million now, if and only if, we got all of it up front. We'd be mad not to. With that £10 mill we could add at least three or four really decent players who would not only confirm that we'd go up this season automatically but would also be good enough to have us challenging for promotion from the championship next season. Losing the Ox will not harm our chances this season and next. It would only improve them.
  18. I was born in Romsey in 1968 and my parents moved out when I was 6 months old. Never lived there since. But my Dad was also born in Southampton and grew up there as did his father and his grandfather. I am 4th generation Saints fan and my son who was born in Warwick and is now 11 is 5th generation and I've been taking him to Saints since he was 5. Hopefully his son in turn will also support Saints and keep the lineage going. Please do spare a thought for my son however - his first ever game was that home match against Boro when we were two up with a minute to go and we drew - Harry's first game in charge I recall. What a 6 years he's had supporting Saints. I've promised him for 6 years that the glory days would be back. It's now starting to happen..........
  19. Really not difficult this one. Puncheon doesn't want to stay at Saints (going from his post match comments at Milwall), Saints don't want him (as we wouldn't have sent him on loan in the first place) and we need some cash to buy potential new players. We should just get on and sell him for as much as we can.
  20. I do know that his favourite seat in the stands when he's watching a game is K9
  21. Is he really clever? You sure? A poor mans Tony Blair with half the brain. He also conveniently tries to forget the many many years when those "spivs and gamblers" brought billions of pounds into the economy and through their personal taxes helped pay his wages and his colleague's expense accounts.
  22. What has happened to Frazer Richardson? No news on him at all.
  23. All depends upon result. Sounds obvious but if he were to lose his first 6 six games in charge then he could be out of the door by the end of October. Unlikely but you never know. Cortese wants promotion this season and will do anything he believes is right to achieve that.
  24. I've been taking my lad since he was five to home and away games. He's now 11. We've always stood - just stand him up on the seat. No-one has ever said anything and he's always been able to see.
  25. How do you know that wasn't the first question and Adkins said it would be fine?
