  1. Hopefully won't need Lallana now but he should not be on the bench if he is not fit enough to come on
  2. Holmes and Lallana on,Punch and Oxo off
  3. Saw Doble v Eastleigh, he is very quick and works hard but lacks a quality first touch, his lack of height would also mean he we would be dealt with quite easily by League Once centre backs. I think he will be a decent player in the future but he is not ready now IMO. We need one or two strikers in on loan this week.
  4. Dave's getting cross,at a text asking if he was a saints fan. Own up, Who was it?
  5. A very small ray of sunshine, is at least the Skates are bottom.
  6. Time for an Everton like stoppage time performance
  7. Bloody hell, Why cant we tale our chances
  8. I didn't know Burley was there manager, maybe we should start a Pompey CB watch thread
  9. Changes needed if we are to go up this season. Kelvin struggles on crosses and should have claimed the ball for the first goal and his distribution is woeful, Bart in. Oxo in for Puncheon who only has one foot and can't even produce anything with it. Two different moments sum up there ability, first half Barnard wins the ball rolls it back to Puncheon with Lambert and Hammond unmarked in the middle,Puncheon cuts back and loses the ball,Second half a minute after Chamberlin comes on he beats his man and produces a great cross which Harding somehow misses. Jaidi out, as well he is really slow and kept on falling over and barely found a teammate all match with his passing.
  10. 1 to win, cmon hampshire
  11. RIP Markus without him there would be no club
  12. That was quite a worrying performance,it exposed many faults with our squad. 1 No pace, hopefully Antonio or Phillips will come in and solve this but if not we will never break down two compact banks of four.2 No tall backup for Lambert, the 3 foot wonders can work well against teams like Reading who give them time tp drop off and receive the ball but up against League One giant centre backs they have no chance. 3 Jaidi, he has lost all pace and now has the turning circle of the QE2 and his distribution is appalling.4 Puncheon, cuts inside far far too much making him really predictable and congesting the centre of the pitch. 5 Davis, some dreadful distribution that prevented us building any attacking moves. We need to improve if we want to win this division.
  13. But Rumpole only defends so he would be helping the Skates
  14. Just Back from the Game and really enjoyed it. The kids were very impressive as they kept the ball on the deck and outplayed Eastleigh. Bart- Fantastic reaction stop but was inconsistent on crosses Tafizoli and Martin - Both excellent in the air but less comfortable on the deck and Martin was very communicative in organising the team Right back(Saville?) Good passer of the ball but could have got forward more Reeves - Fantastic composure on the ball and linked up well with Isgrove at left back.We have 4 quality left backs now so plenty of depth there!!! Isgrove(11)- A constant threat, quick and lively and dribbled well. Pulis - not as bad as expected but didn't do much Robinson- quiet but won a few nice tackles Oxo- Definite potential with a few mazy runs but questions marks over his decision making Hoskins - took goal fantastically, he played a bit like Barnard Doble- quick and works hard but lacked a quality first touch S
  15. I thought it was a very good attacking performance in the first 65 mins with some fantastic passing and movement. Barnard was linking up very well with Hammond and Dickson and Butterfield getting forward well. Defensively we looked suspect though with Mcanuff causing problems. Jaidi was being very clumsy and Fonte should have won the ball for the goal although Wotton sliding at him hardly helped the situation. Wotton and Hammond could not cover enough ground to protect the defence adequately and they had to resort to giving away free kicks to break up the play. After 65 mins the game became completely irrelavent as academy player after academy player came on for a cameo. Overall it was encouraging especially when you consider how many players will come back into the team

  17. I remember a couple of years ago seeing us play well in a draw against West Ham and being convinced we were set for a good season. David Mcgoldrick had scored twice and had looked like a top striker. A year later we were relegated bottom of the Championship and Mcgoaldrought had she was definitely not a top striker. Pre Season is for building fitness and does not show how good or how bad a side is.
  18. Id Cards would have been introduced after the election as Alan Johnson said. Now we have two sensible parties in Government they have 'rowed back' and pledged to abolish them/ http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/henryporter/2010/may/12/coalition-proposals-civil-rights - More applications for cases without jury trial. Article also details some planned 'rowing back' from the coaltion.
  19. ID Cards, 28 days without charge, restriction of trial by jury, the number of organisations able to use anti terror legislation(including the power to search you mail). These are just a few examples of the actions of the Government over the last 13 years.
  20. Pretty irrelevant but for those who like celebrity endorsments. James Beattie One of the few professional footballers to comment on politics, the £55,000 a week Stoke City striker said of the new 50% tax rate: “Obviously this tax hike is a big concern for me and other footballers. After everything that has happened with the economy we need a change of direction so I’ll vote Tory
  21. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  22. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Score
  23. Trotman has played very well
  24. Brown desperately trying to suck up to Nick Clegg.
  25. The lib dems had some good ideas in their manifesto, but also some absoloutely shocking ideas including the virtual abolition of academies and ruling out military force against Iran in the future. Now I'm not some neocon itching for a war with Iran but surely it makes sense not to rule out that option incase we were attacked.
