  1. What an odd move, think Gallagher has learnt enough about Championship football already and thought this was the season to see if he was upto first team football. No way 3 strikers with an injury prone Austin being one of them is enough to get through the season and I don't see us splashing out on a replacement, can see with the fee that Wood is going for that it would cost a lot to buy a proven championship striker like Sam. Loaning to Birmingham is bizarre, will never forgive Harry for the way he treated young players after a cup defeat when he was here. Doubt Sam will even get games when he signs 39 year old 'traffic lad' Benjani !
  2. Not convinced by Gibson personally, Middlesbrough last season made Puel Saints look like Keegan era Newcastle, one of the most defensive teams I have seen for a while. They opened up a bit at end of season needing wins and Gibson looked a bit exposed by having to play a higher defensive line. He may have potential but he is nowhere near the level of VVD.
  3. Transfer request changes nothing, still got a long term contract, still not going to sulk for the next 5 years. No deal to anyone. Caving in now would just encourage this tactic to be used on Bertrand/Cedric/Romeu etc, time for us to stand strong.
  4. JWP takes an excellent corner and wide free kick. Unfortunately other than VVD we have few targets for him to aim for, even VVD missed some sitters in the Europa League from JWP deliveries. If we had scored 3 or 4 of the chances JWP had created then everyone would be raving about him on here as one of the best players in the league. As it is people criticise his set piece delivery when really the problem is the finishing and general lack of height in the team. When JWP isn't playing their is a massive drop in quality of set pieces, Tadic normally overhits them and Davis lacks pace on his delivery.
  5. Agreed, seen Cairney play a few times this season and been very impressed. Good stamina, wonderful passing range and unlike our other midfielders has an excellent shot on him.
  6. Oops, posted too soon, add Tadic on left instead of Redmond sign another defensive midfielder to play on Romeu and we have a bloody good midfield
  7. add on the left, sign another defensive midfielder to play on Romeu and we have a bloody good midfield.
  8. Stay as infuriating as he has been for large parts of season, he has still been creating more chances than anyone else in the squad. If our strikers had been even vaguely competent this season, he wouldn't be getting half the stick he gets. He is always brave enough to try the tough pass or take a player on that settle for the easy 5 yard square ball and we don't have anyone else like that in the squad.
  9. Watching Fulham a few times this season, been very impressed by Tom Cairney, Lovely range of passing, impressive at running with the ball and a cracking long shot on him.
  10. So he can run around chasing the United back 4 without another player within 60 yards....Anything he should play in games like today which we have a better chance of winning in and suit his style of play and play Long to do the headless chicken act against the big teams.
  11. Unbelievable that the bestest fans in the country have been overlooked for this award. http://www.ytfc.net/news/article/2016-17/huish-park-voted-best-league-two-matchday-experience-3669379.aspx
  12. Nice video which shows how the whole squad has played important roles in getting us to the final, even players like Hesketh who are not first choice have had key roles in our run.
  13. Lloyd scored a cracking goal for Exeter at the weekend.
  14. Agreed with rest of that post but there is huge difference between Bertrand and Robertson. Robertson is much weaker with a tendency to dive in and give away penalties.
  15. Think we should ditch the 4-3-3 and start with same team we ended the game against Swansea with Boufal starting centrally we looked far more effective. I like McQueen further forward as well. Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand Romeu Davis/JWP Sims Boufal McQueen Long
  16. Nice to see Danny Butterfield back at the club, Exeter has been a retirement club for ex saints over last few years, Oakley who has just made his 600th career appearance, Lee Holmes, Arron Davies and Butterfield all under the management of Paul Tisdale. Exeter have a decent academy as well which Butterfield and Oakley have both been helping to coach and mentor the academy players including Matt Grimes who was sold and then criminally underused by Swansea. With Les talking about linking up with lower league clubs to develop players, Exeter would be a good option to look at.
  17. Or Gareth Barry as they switched to in last game. Either way as much as I like Mane through the middle think this is a good game for him to play out wide on right and attack this weakness. Also means we can have more balance to the side. Stek Soares Yohshida Fonte Targett Davis Wanyama Romeu(if ready if not JWP) Mane Pelle Tadic
  18. Agreed. Lump the ball up in the direction of Pelle as we did Saturday and Lescott will win it every time. However he is very vulnerable to players running in behind, even Danny Graham nearly won a penalty against him that way at the weekend!! Long is a much better fit for a game like this.
  19. True and I am a big fan of Tadic as well, wonderful classy player. Just think JWP gets a lot of harsh criticism for someone has played a valuable role in helping us to 3rd in the premiership.
  20. 7 assists this season, (should be 8 for but Lukaku own goal did not count) from 12 games, that is a dammed impressive effort. Terrible team performance yesterday but lovely ball for Bertrand to set up the own goal and great corner. He was considerably better than Davis and Cork who are worshipped on here most of the time..
  21. Don't think we will catch City and Arsenal winning was a terrible result for us. However one small silver lining, if Chelsea have title sown up by last day and we have potential to get Champions League over Arsenal/Spurs or especially Man U, we might see City ease off in that game.
  22. Team looks very short on goals potential to me, fear a similar result to Sheffield United tonight.
  23. Look forward to him spending more time 'in and around' the job centre'. For me Clive the trouble is he just commentated too well if he had scuffed it he would still be in the job.
  24. Very impressive team performance with no weak links. Special shout out for Matt Targett on his first premiership start marking World Cup winner André Schürrle out the game, another gem of a left back from the production line.
