  1. Semmens said that we couldn't compete with the likes of Everton and Villa, so not sure why any surprise when he leaves for one of those clubs
  2. Once bitten, twice shy? Or are you happy with Ché Adams leading the line?
  3. Who is that?? (tongue in cheek, sort of!)
  4. This fandom and playing only for the club you support is something us supporters adhere to, not professional players.
  5. Not sure why everyone makes such a drama out of this. We all know that it started off as BLM - we had the logos, the replacement names on back of shirts, banners etc etc - and then when it dawned on them that BLM weren't quite so benign, they carried on doing it while trying to save face by distancing themselves from the BLM group. It's a worthy cause, possibly the wrong action and unfortunately it will always be associated with the BLM group. IMO if they want to do it, then good for them. It's not going to change anyone's outlook on life, and if anything I do feel that race relations have taken a retrograde step given that many people are being labelled racist if they don't support it.
  6. Do Villa need to sell him as surely their FFP is shot to pieces, now that they've a net £290m spend since promotion? Having said that, selling Grealish and replacing him won't really give change the net spend to below prob £230-240m
  7. Still being a twat I see. Being supercilious isn't a great look, but it obviously gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, so crack on.
  8. Quite possibly but at least 2 think otherwise
  9. If the chairman comes out and says we can't compete with the likes of Everton and Villa, but instead Burnley and Palace, why would any player want to stay with us?
  10. OK, I'll answer it for you..... If the current income streams dry up or even reduce a bit, many/most/all clubs will be under sever pressure and will be unable to balance their books (not that they can now) at current rates of wage payments and fees for signing. How likely is that to happen? Your guess is as good as mine. Of course this would be a temporary thing while existing contracts remain valid, as you would sign up new players on vastly reduced terms. Maybe a few clubs, with owners richer than Croesus, would happily run 8 or 9 figure annual losses, that is, if the authorities allowed it.
  11. Spent about £260m net over the last 3 seasons.
  12. Lemina vs Chelsea @ Wembley
  13. Quick question re Villa. IIRC they've spent a net £300m over the last 3 seasons. Does FFP still exist? Guess it also shows a wee difference between their owner and ours.
  14. Egg going down to Curry's tomorrow to get a new TV......
  15. Is it wrong that I want Scotland to win (have to think that it's my mother's Scottish blood coming out in me)?
  16. I know it's Scotland, but don't all of us want McAdams to score?
  17. Does anyone know for sure whether we are going to be issued with ST cards or whether it will be electronic? Or is it all in the air at the moment?
  18. Maybe it's just a touch of megalomania and desire for control.
  19. Increase revenue?? Think it will do exactly the opposite. I can go to nearly al the games, my son can't. I don't want to go alone and sit without family or friend, so instead, I will let my STs go.
  20. Well they really should know what's what before selling renewed STs.
  21. Hmmm. 5 years of crap, a league that we have no chance of winning. Think if this is the case, then my time is done. But I'll call the ticket office and see what's what.
  22. Are tickets all moving to electronic now, or still with cards? I'm pretty much in the same boat as you and won't bother renewing my two if it is electronic only.
  23. Since 2015?? To me it was before that - 2012. Once we got promoted, we then went into a period of no investment from the owner and instead were run like any other business in that we had to be self sustaining. Great in principle, but football isn't like any other business. And there's no need to point out that many others use it as a play thing and are happy to make losses. Against that, we have no chance of competing. We were lucky with recruitment, but in the past few years, there's been no one who has really improved so much that we can carry on as before. Maybe Ings, but with 1 year left, that won't really bring in enough like what we sold in the past. Kat did well out of Saints, really well. And frankly, our current owner might as well be the invisible man.
  24. I'm in Block 30 and quite happy there. Wouldn't think it worth while upgrading unless there was more leg room and more shoulder room. Who cares about a padded seat? If it really is an issue then you can bring along a cushion. A lot cheaper than paying £250 a ticket.
  25. He's such a tit
