https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/grealish-romeu-hasenhuttl-man-city-22843240 EDIT - looking about, its all over the place about "waiting" for OR. Nothing about a slap.

TBH it gives me no pleasure seeing Vest slated. He never caused any issues here (at least not on the face of it). That he hasn't flourished makes the sale easier to bear, as always annoying if other PL teams come in and get a cheapish player who then outperforms the value paid.

Enjoyed the game save for one thing....too many non Saints supporters in the Kingsland. Also sat next to a most annoying person, which I think was the reason late on in the game, I suggested to the 4 people in front of me that in future they might do better in the away end. The got a bit arsey, but fail to realise that if much of the home seating is taken up by away supporters, its pretty crap for the atmosphere. And can't the club stop selling to away supporters? Had a Spurs fan next to me when they were in town

Rang with supporter number and will have to provide ID. Etc

Fair does to the club/ticket office. New set printed off.

I though about the barcode bit as well.... Looks like I'll have to chance it before the game as miles away. Found my 2014/15 STs though.....

God knows where I've put them. Can I turn up pre-match to ticket office and get into the game??

Will he ever play for us again?? I suspect after the BS he pulled vs Brighton, he won't.

Is it now a case of Moneyball meeting the Black Box?

One thing that doesn't often get mentioned, is the fact that many players, however much money is offered, just don't want to live in/around Newcastle. I think it a gorgeous part of the world, but my priorities are somewhat different to a 20 something football player earning £££k a week.

Of all the players we've sold over the recent years, Vestergaard was the one I was most meh about.

Wow what a finish LCFC - THFC

Agree. In a year or two it might well be Newcastle, but as the PL seems to be an exercise in who can spend the most (well apart from some teams like us), then there are many candidates. One that can't really be included is Liverpool, for however much they do spend, they seem to have an extraordinarily good selling record.

Question that gets skirted around, is why football clubs as companies should be treated differently than any other that faces liquidation? We went through things, and while many think Rupes was an arse, at least he tried to do things properly, and the debt was what, £14m and IIRC (but stand to be corrected) not to HMRC. Our neighbours' troubles were discussed at length (is that thread still ongoing?) and really, the preferred creditors etc is a complete nonsense. Question comes down to - Is it imperative for the community for clubs to survive, or can a phoenix club be acceptable?

Burnely are going to be utterly shagged out when they have to play every other day so that they can finish the season.

It must be an incredibly hard decision for these kids. Less game time, which undoubtedly affects performance, and small fish in a hugely attractive big pond - or game time with little old us? So many careers have fizzled out warming the bench as the big clubs buy ready made world beaters. But the allure of a big club.....

What if Chelsea loaned him to us for another 2 seasons? Would suit them maybe to have a then pretty experienced striker aged 22-23 and would suit us to get 3 years out of him. Chelsea have always been quite clever with their buying power which means that they really do have to send out a ridiculous number on loan. Currently 22 according to https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/on-loan-players?pageTab=players but I think that they've been over 30 before. but having said that, this is one of those loans, also Gallagher at Palace, that seems to work for both parties.

It's a very worthy thing to support. Unfortunately I am not sure it will make much difference but at least it is being tried. I didn't realise before the game that that what was happening, and found it nigh on impossible to read the numbers, so scratched my head and thought WTF until it was pointed out. I think clear numbers on the back of shirts is a requirement for TV and not so much for the ref. I stand to be corrected, but think it is easier to see in the flesh than on the box. As I said, very worthy thing to do. But where do you draw the line? There are lots and lots of worthy causes out there, and if you let one be supported, do you then let them all?

Swans have a player called Peru (not spelt that way)

Commentary sending me mad.

Ah yes, it's late on Friday and a few drinks have been taken.

Christ, sounds like we had a lucky escape from the US hotelier billionaire who didn't like the moaning fans on this forum. If he couldn't handle the odd crack pot or 3 on here, then what chance would they have in the big boys world of soccer? Far better to stick to something they know about rather than buy us. or any other club, which has just as many crack pots whinging. EDIT - OK, OK. I got taken in. Booze colours the judgement.
