Cindy Crawford floats my boat.....

I don't want Pompey to go under either. I started off finding the fat Sheik quite amusing but as time goes on, I do feel a little sorry for the fans. There is only a certain amount of suffering that I want them to go through, and I think that now is about time for administration to come and put an end to it. Hopefully then, there will be a buyer but I do fear that they may well have to fold. A bit of friendly rivalry makes things more interesting. No need to be the **** out of each other though. Here is a little more trouble for them: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/10/portsmouth-debts-premier-league-threat

agree 100%. I thought that the PFA loaned the money for the wages or was this denied?

Not sure why Grant is so popular as a choice. In 30 years in Israel league football, not known for its brilliance, he won 4 Toto Cups, 1 Israeli Cup and 4 league titles. As he was always with one of the bigger teams then this might not be seen as that great. Since the Israeli Premier League has been in existence, Maccabi Haifa have won it 6 times out of the 10 years (and where Grant won it twice). After that he managed the national side and did not qualify for anything. The Chelsea move is presumably some Jewish connection with Abramovich. While he was quite successful there, I think that even I might have been successful. Might be a somewhat different kettle of fish with players who are not amongst the world's best. And if he was so good, why did Chelsea not renew his contract.

if I was Roy Hodgson I would ignore Liverpool and rather take over from Alex Ferguson. I know Murinho wants that job but..... When is AF retiring, in the next couple of years?

So Fahim doesn't own the real estate then!!? I am getting very confused as to who owns what!

bring in TV replays that the ref can use then and there. Until that happens I cannot see how the situation can improve. So what if you get a retrospective ban? Very often it is a price worth paying for your team and it really doesn't help those that you have cheated against. Forget UEFAs experiment of having goal line refs. That's frankly bollicks. I cannot understand why they are so unwilling to introduce TV replays. By the time the players have surrounded the ref and argued the toss, the video ref could have made his decision. Saying that it delays the game too much is ridiculous, and so what if it does. As I say its no longer than the complaints from the players. And I definitely think that it is a price worth paying - a few seconds delay or a whole game ruined by cheats? Rugby Union and League manage well. Cricket does to a certain extent. So I really can't see a problem and it has to be the way forward. The FA is in favour of this, and I think in 2006 did lobby FIFA to introduce it. Platini also takes a strange stance on it. So everyone wants video replays apart from seemingly FIFA and UEFA. Anyway, what does the spare ref do all the time, apart from put up a board showing extra time (which would be easy enough to do without him holding a board up) and stop managers from leaving that pathetic patch of ground called the technical area.

Love the comments from the players. OK so Deepdale is half full (as has a 23,400 capacity). If these prima donas know that there is a crisis, why don't they volunteer a wage cut in order to subsidise the ticket prices? Their wage bill for this financial year for players and football staff (not admin) will be in excess of £11m for players and staff. Take £1m away and this would mean that every ticket could be subsidised by £2. Cut the wages a bit more, then the tickets get even cheaper. Players know this. They know that it is not good playing in half empty stadia. They know that they could subsidise ticket prices, via a wage cut. While in most cases no one is going to volunteer a wage cut, football is different as these guys are excessively well paid at the expense of the customer. If the customer isn't coming........

Hart said: “I brought it to people’s notice a month ago, because it will take the spine out of the team and could be a difficult situation. Well ain't he on the ball. I posted the below on 2nd September...... "they have to be a little concerned about the African Cup of Nations. Belhadj will most likely go with Algeria, and Utaka with Nigeria. Don't think Borre plays."

WGS is a bit of an enigma. He didn't cover himself in glory at Coventry, albeit he did have all his players sold and did manage to keep them up for a season longer than expected. When he was appointed for us, how many can honestly say that they were happy with the appointment? And how many pundits thought it was a good appointment? OK - he did very well. I think we had a better squad than a lot of people gave us credit for. They were unfit and WGS is good for getting people fit. After he left us for Celti, I didn't bother taking much notice. I presume that he won the league or came second. But ultimately he failed there because there was not even a modicum of success in the Champions League. (Did they even get a point away from home?). As I don't follow Boro, I have no idea why Southgate was sacked. Gibson has stood by him for a very long time - maybe he just fancied a change. The amount of money thrown down the drain, you would have expected the Chairman to have acted sooner. I have a feeling that Strachan will struggle, but I hope not.

Another lazy peice of journalism about saints

we got ours at http://www.andsotobed.co.uk/ - cost an absolute fortune (think it was £1600) but worth every penny. 2 three foot single mattresses zipped up the middle. means that i can get into bed without the wife hitting the ceiling. also means that we can have different firmnesses. they have a factory outlet over at Bridport. well worth spending as much as you can, seeing that you spend so much of your life in bed. also getting a decent nights kip is good for you and so much easier in a good bed.

SS - what game did P*mpey get that in attendance?

If anyone invests in Pompey now, I can only see 2 scenarios. 1) He is a (real) billionaire who doesn't mind clearing the debts and the chance that they will be in the Championship next year. Possible but you might as well wait until administration and pick them up on the cheap. And why would anyone want to buy Pompey with whatever debt it has and a sh*t ground? Surely the Geordies are more attractive for about £100m. No debt (I think) and a 52,000 stadium vs maybe £70m debt and a 20,700 capacity pile of turd. 2) Some tin pot spiv who thinks that he can buy the club for peanuts, not spend any money on it, try and persuade others to spend their money and still come out in profit a few months down the road. The only way I can see that happening is by selling the ground. No one knows who owns that!

wife has a Blackberry but prefer my iPhone. Don't really want push email as I would be on the machine the whole time. Browsing much much much better on the iPhone. Also heard mixed reviews of the Palm Pre.

Couple of things dont make sense. The Mail says "the club insist that Al Faraj is the sole beneficial owner of Falcondrone and have resubmitted his ‘fit and proper person’ paperwork to the Premier League". I thought that this fit and proper stuff was done and dusted weeks ago, so why do they need to resubmit? The article also says "Falcondrone are proposing a lump sum, followed by regular instalments, to give them breathing space to assess the situation at Fratton Park". Ummm, if you have bought a club, don't you think that you would have done due diligence and know exactly what the situation is? And why not just clear all debts in one fell swoop? Either this is lazy journalism or something fishy is going on.

Lol. A bargain at £600,000,000 and way more £££££ per seat than our prefab stadium. Anyway, in light of their spectacular start, any thoughts when they might get their first point? Think they plat Hull sometime in November.
-
haven't we known that this has always been going on? I am not sure why it is such a great surprise. You watch a lot of games (maybe not from now) and see how often the ball gets kicked out to the wing and straight out for a throw. Been going on for decades, but its just no one has been quite so stupid to write about it.

they have to be a little concerned about the African Cup of Nations. Belhadj will most likely go with Algeria, and Utaka with Nigeria. Don't think Borre plays. Anyway, has the take over been confirmed by PL?

Nice comments about Glenda.

Johnny, I don't know why I sat through this as I was thoroughly depressed by it and frankly I still am. All I wanted to do was go and give my 3 year old boy a big hug, but didn't want to wake him. I know the 2 killers were only 10 but what they did to that poor little 2 year old was,as you say, totally sickening. I hear that they did quite a lot more than what was mentioned on TV, including (I think) shoving batteries where the sun doesn't shine. I feel sorry for Mrs Bulger who knows that these 2 "kids" were freed after less than 8 years.
-
think that the PL dont want Thaksin Shinawhatshisname back and he seems to be the money behind this. So Storrie may still ride to the rescue. Oh why couldn't we have had a takeover like this.....

How about this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Al Fahim and Swiss billionaire deal for ground share, with both taking profit from land sale at Fratton park along with car Park. Very good source, Rupert ******** second name cannot be given. Dark days ahead for all south coast fans! I really cant believe it." http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=424&fid=203&sty=2&act=1&mid=2124794282
