  1. you ready to shell out another $15 for the Resurgence pack?
  2. Are they pulling Soccer Saturday from the web?
  3. AA is being a little bit stupid. He can demand Lazio double their offer, but then they can pull out and go buy some decent players for £10m.
  4. what about all these extra map packages that they are releasing. Stimulus a while back and another one coming up in a few days time. Really **** that they are raping people for more money. A few hacked servers are fun, but without dedicated servers no interesting maps. Anyone bought Stimulus pack? Playing on the PC, only ever about 300 out of 30,000 ever seem to play them.
  5. ah. didna see it (obviously).
  6. All well and good saying it AFTER you leave office. What did he do/say when he was minister in charge? It is going to be a little interesting this season to see how the PL are going to name 8 British players in their squads. Not exactly sure of what the regulations say, but some of them are going to struggle. Might be a master stroke by Villa.
  7. I doubt it. I can imagine that agents don't give this jumped up pip-squeak the time of day, so AA has got the hump.
  8. How about this gem... http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/183668/-5m-benefits-for-disabled-migrants-who-flew-home
  9. re - Tayside. Good point, but I think that temporary staff cost a lot more as no doubt an agency has to be paid and then no doubt they have higher wages.
  10. No idea. H&F certainly sort my boy's SEN out, so yes to that part of education, but mainstream might be different.
  11. If it doesn't go to the FA, I thought Chainrai was going to pay himself back with it.
  12. True. I do use some more than some but less than others, namely Special Education and the bits that go with it. Interestingly, I checked up on the council site, and first thing that I saw was that they were trying to flog off 9 buildings for £20m so that they could lessen the debt mountain which is at £133m (no - they are not Poopey in disguise). One of the building going to be flogged is the Irish Centre, which promotes Irish culture!!! They also say "The council has taken out more than £42 million worth of waste and bureaucracy over the past three years. The number of bureaucrats has been cut by nearly 600 posts. At the same time the council is prioritising front line services – like cleaner streets, better parks and improved schools – that matter most to residents. The Government’s official watchdog, The Audit Commission, also judges the council to be among the best in Britain." I would agree that the Parks are looking noticeably better. It does sound like Poopey. £133m debt and getting rid of 600 staff.....
  13. TlS - I think that you have a very valid point. But, along with the other thread about IB, I don't think that anyone minds people taking time off when they are sick. It is the scamming that goes on like described in the Daily Mail article that annoys people. What a lot of people don't focus on either, is that we all pay for it in our Council Tax. I have recently moved out of London, and the Council changed from years of Labour to the Tories. Since then we have had a 3% reduction in Council Tax every year, with no noticeable affect on services. In fact they seem to be better, and I do know that the council is rated as one of the best in the country. I am also not saying Tory is better than Labour, but more that Labour had been in charge for such a long time, that this situation seems to have arisen. And where have the 3% annual cuts come from? Efficiency savings. If you compound the 4 years of these cuts and add in inflation, the cut in real terms is somewhere between 20-25% which is ****ing massive. I don't see why this council should be any different from any other, or for that matter any different from any public sector body.
  14. Fowllyd - malapropism - I like it. Are you a sesquipedalian?
  15. as you say they were to you UFOs. Now the most important letter is the "U", which I am sure you know stands for unidentified. Just because you have been unable to identify what the Flying Object was, doesn't mean that it is ET and his pals.
  16. Dune, just because a lot of bogus claimants say that they have ME, doesn't mean those that do genuinely have it aren't incapacitated by it. The problem with ME is that you largely have to take the word of the patient as "..there are no characteristic laboratory abnormalities" and therefore this leaves it wide open to abuse. Just like dodgy insurance claims for whiplash - you can't prove it in a lab.
  17. As you say, the game is Association Football (as opposed to Rugby Football) etc. Soccer came from a bastardisation of the abbreviation of Association > Assoc. > Soccer Out of interest, "Limeys" came from the navy. To stop scurvy, lemons were prescribed, but we were at war with all the countries who produced lemons, so we went for limes instead (which aren't as effective as lemons).
  18. As a lot of commentators have said, England is (and apparently always has been) more interested in club rather than country. If that is the case then choose people who want to play for their country, which would mean looking more outside of the top 6 or 7 of the PL. I can't quite decide what is better. Inferior players trying their hearts out, or better players who don't really try.
  19. Well to be honest £6.5m for the club, which does have potential to expand as does the town, or £65m plus for a dump with no squad and not much prospect for expansion seems a no brainer. Poopey is toxic and no one is going to buy it without stiffing Chainrai. Will Chainrai accept taking a hit?
  20. isn't it 10% + 2mph
  21. Plymouth? Exeter? Brighton? Dover Athletic?
  22. Must make a confession here. I am a naughty boy and don't read the Daily Mail.
  23. ESB - apologies - misunderstood your point about the flippant use of the word. It hasn't quite got to the stage that the word "spastic" got to, but yes you are right, especially more so with the word "retard(ed)" than "mental", and there the use is in a much more derogatory manner (which was the problem that "spastic" came across).
  24. I had a friend who used Nick Freeman, cos his job was in danger. Basically I think that he got a £5k bill and was told that there was no hope for him and he lost his licence. Have you tried pepipoo.com
