If it gets overturned, would this be applicable to Pompey's administration or have they got away with it and it only applicable to Plymouth and future cases?

I tried to listen to it but it was such crap I had to turn it off

^ they've got a p*** poor selection of English beers.

not such a case of political correctness, more to do with corporate greed.

As if there isn't enough being charged for football already. Sort of sums up the "game" though, that the flagship show piece would be on pay TV. Having said that it's not like BBC/ITV get it for free

Suitcases of money cause problems. You have to register as a high value trader if taking over €15k in cash and if you turn up to buy a house for a few million in cash, then the estate agent should refuse it. Things have really tightened up here with money laundering, but seemingly not with football clubs.

I use Cute PDF writer which does what GM said about Adobe. It's free.

went there on a day trip not so long ago. Didn't really look around but what I saw wouldn't entice me back. Some nice parts but it's a **** hole really. Went to Bruges which is a bit touristy but in the evening things are much quieter.

Question is, if we did walk out from FIFA, who would come with us? I assume USA and Australia might as they are as p***ed off with the latest goings on as we are. USA would be a huge blow; Australia not so big. But what about the rest of Europe? Platini has ambitions to take over from Blatter so he might not want to rock the boat there. Not sure if he could keep the European nations within UEFA/FIFA or not.

Went to Egan's last night. Food was good but a little too pricey I thought, but not overly so. I guess all prices are going up everywhere. Wine list leaves a lot to be desired but I can live with that. Would go back again. Funny, my Mrs used to work in that building about 20 years ago when it was called Peelers.

^ Funny article ..and they choose Pompey!!! º!º So it's easier to be commercially successful with a club that is starting way before "scratch" then is it? Not sure the blue few have overly pleasant memories of their previous Russian. Even they can see through the gloss of winning the FA Cup.

I see a small difference. Maybe semantics though. Our academy has a deserved reputation. While we might buy these youngsters, it is to build and develop their talent (of course for our benefit) and to be fair, they can probably do it better with us than at many other clubs. Arsenal come along and take these youngsters when we have done all the hard work. It seems that they leave us with nothing much more that they can be taught, and it is the exposure to higher level footie that either makes or breaks them. But, is it really a problem? For decades we have done this, and the biggest problem that we faced was Bosman (and I know we are not alone in this). It is one of the ways that we financed ourselves.

Hmmmm. My closest club to where I was born (as the crow flies) was less than ½ mile away. Boscombe to Dean Court!

I rewound on iplayer and had to put up the subtitles where it said £50m. @14:41 - looked again and am sure he says £50 not £15

Haha. You have to laugh really. If Chin had restructured the company so that there was zero debt, it would have been one of the greatest bits of business (given the limited income and huge expenses) the world has ever seen. One thing confused me from the Sugar programme last night!! Android stated in the proposed CVA that the total secured creditors stood at £22.383 million (paragraph 3.05). However he told Sugar £50m plus £10m to players. So secured creditors have almost tripled in value have they, or am I missing something? That wouldn't be Chin dipping into the pot a little bit would it?

Not a bad run. Huddersfield have been unbeaten in their last 25 games, since they came to SMS in December.

Must be showing my age......never heard of David Threlfall and Pauline McLynn, Hugh Bonneville, David Schneider or Imogen Thomas. And to be honest I really couldn't care about the sexual activities of any of those mentioned on that twitter page. -
Had a bad meal there. Both me and the Mrs thought it was dreadful and wouldn't go back. Maybe we should.....! When we asked (rhetorically) whether our mille feuille was supposed to be burnt, we were told they all come out of the pan like that. The restraunt decor looks like something out of a 1970 old people's home. They had no idea how to arrange the seating in the restaurant so felt that you were permanently sitting in a corridor. But other people seem to have had better experiences. Wifey likes Thai, so we might have to check it out. The Manor is only a mile and a bit from me and the kids like going there so they can get a pizza. Terravina is on the list to go to. I couldn't possibly let a wine waiter choose for me booze is my business so I have to choose for myself. GB's kids go to school with mine so I guess I should go there - problem is is getting wifey to drive back.

near X'church. Just getting a second dose. First wasn't very much, but now it's serious Looks like I'll have to cut the lawn again soon. But as I write it's tailing off a bit. I really think that I need an inch or so.

And Abramovich wouldn't make a profit if he sold tomorrow, unless someone paid him back the £150m that he bought the club for and the £726m (a 2010 figure!) loaned to the club. I guess you could add an extra £80m or so that they will have lost since then and for good measure why not add £50m that Torres cost. So that would be, rounding down, £1 billion. I think not!

Sideb, thanks for the tips. Might check them out. Any others between there and X'church? I hear Terra Vina in Ashurst is quite good as is Verveine in Milford-on-Sea. I note that the Jetty have dropped the prices on their wine list. That stopped me from going as they were truly ridiculous - I think £65 for a Sancerre. Limewood still seem to be more expensive than London

One of the more "interesting" restaurants I went to was La Tour D'Argent in Paris. It's famous for its duck. Fortunately I was not paying as it was also by far the most expensive. I went there 10 years ago and the cheapest starter (not that you see the prices on the menu) was €50. I looked up their menu now, and the starters range from €48 for Pike Dumplings to €210 for some caviar. €69 for a an asparagus salad with truffle sauce seems a little steep as well. If you get the chance to go there, go as a guest rather than paying!! http://www.latourdargent.com/restaurant/la-carte/entrees

a tad big for the Skates isn't it?
