I would have thought AL is worth more than £15m. I am looking at ManU paying nigh on £20m for Phil Jones and Ashley Young. Jones is 4 years younger and Young is 3 years older. Admittedly both had PL experience but (maybe being biased) I would put AL in that category. Age is paramount, hence why there are so many free agents over 30 (no sell on value). Put it this way, if it was a choice between AOC and AL then I think we all know which we would prefer to keep, and hence why there was no whinging when AOC went to Arsenal. It is interesting to see that a team shells out £12-15m on a player and leaves him on the bench - it would be nice to be able to afford such a luxury!

The one irritation that I have is that people seem to think Wenger is this wonderful talent spotter, when it was clear that people at SFC were the ones to have spotted and developed the talent to the degree that every manager in the country knew about it, and half the fans as well. Wenger just got his chequebook out. Whether he will develop further is another matter entirely, and that at the moment is down to Wenger. Good luck to the lad. Hope he does end up like Franny Jeffers. Think that the deal is exceptionally good for us. Even if he does turn out to be the best player ever, we have still profited handsomely off the back of 34 L1 games. We are not (yet) at the lofty heights of Arsenal so it would be unrealistic to think that players want to stay with us because who we are. They want success and European football and Arsenal have more than we do.

And if you adjust it for the cost of living being higher in London and the South then the picture would change again and make us look comparative "value" compared to say Leicester/Forest. I am in two minds about WHU. Gold & Sullivan went in saying that there were huge debts and that they needed to be sorted. They seemingly have put in a lot of their own money and are try to strike a balance between keeping costs down and getting promoted. If it wasn't for those two, who I have to presume are guaranteeing the debt, they would have folded by now. Therefore I can't categorise them as being the same as Pompey. Or am I reading that totally wrong? Yes it will be interesting to see when the CVA payments start. I do feel that they will because having done HMRC over once already, I am not so sure that it is a good idea to diddle them out of their 20%.

True but if the share holder turns out to be a company registered over seas then you are back to square one. At least DMWSL are registered here in the UK, unlike all those overseas companies which don't even give the pretence of openness. But this is all academic if your shareholders are the likes of Portpin who can hide whatever they want. As an aside, I wonder if DMWSL was ML's full initials - anyone know?

Christchurch Tyres are big into Kumho, if you are ever down that way. They are well priced, quick and friendly and no I have no connection to them save for being a repeat customer. Had Kumho on the rears of my e39 530d touring and they were rubbish. Worse than the Vredestein that I had on previously, which while not bad picked up every stone around and punctured so damned easily. Anyway, Kumho as a stop gap are on the front, and Conti Sports on the rear and they are much better - at least I don't spin the wheels every other second. Best tyre I ever did have was from Michelin on my e36. Fronts did near 36k and the rears did 20k.

agree, it's a pain in the backside and a step backwards. Why change it if it wasn't broken? Why not use the pop out screen? Might have to allow pop ups but then on an extended desk top, at least you can view it in full screen without it minimising the whole time.
