  1. Salford - population 229k - no football team Portsmouth - population 207k
  2. Surely you could find out if they were trying to unfreeze, as something would have to be posted wouldn't it? That way any creditor who might not have been contacted could see what's going on and object, or is purely at the discretion of a judge?
  3. As was pointed out a while ago, Chin pumping money into the club isn't doing them any favours. Trying to find a buyer at £18m (??) is easier than trying to find one by that amount PLUS whatever interim payments/loans Chin puts in. Anything Chin puts in surely must be throwing good money after bad. Chin isn't that stupid, and I still think that he knew exactly what he was getting into. One thing that he has been upfront about from the beginning is that he didn't want to run a football club. Why that position should have changed........
  4. Hmmm you sure the money is still there. Problem with Poopey is that they don't realise that you should pay the tax man before the staff. Unfortunate but true. They seem to have an unrealistic expectation that the tax man is some benign being that can be fobbed off and made to wait.
  5. Depends if I go via the kitchen to get a cup of coffee or not. If I don't then bedroom to office is about 5 yards.
  6. Was in Oz a few years ago seeing an Aussie mate. Went out to a restaurant and he (the Aussie) ordered up a Fosters. The waiter, when pouring it out, asked him in all sincerity if he was a foreigner. PMSL.
  7. Worthington Best...aaahhh...brings back memories. First time I ever did 10 pints.
  8. le Saux?
  9. Ales all the way. Although I do have bottles of fizzy **** to knock off the thirst. Current favourites are Ringwood Best, Deuchars IPA, Thwaites Wainwrights and Dorset Brewing Company's Chesil which is a lovely pilsner. Also love wheat beers and the local supermarket seems to have stopped stocking Meantime's one in favour of the usual InBev crap that is mass produced and tasteless.
  10. Hmmm. You forgot that it might be snowing (or not) and is going to be damn cold. I'll go for 12,364
  11. Not that it is really relevant, but old HR saying he is the most ungreedy person and all that got me thinking. Allegedly there is a sprinkler system, ordered and paid for by AFCB, that got delivered and installed somewhere around Poole Harbour by mistake. Maybe there was a BOGOF offer on, maybe it isn't true.
  12. Actually, further to my earlier post, in reality, Gone in 60 Seconds is more appropriate.
  13. I Am Legend, or maybe, The Day The Earth Stood Still.
  14. OK so you are made to have a breathalyser kit in your car, but you don't have to use it, so what is the point really? Having lived in rural France for a number of years, I am well aware of what goes on when it comes to drink driving.
  15. So Freesat can work with an ethernet cable rather than dish? I have an ethernet running to my Sony blu-ray player but thought Freesat might be good. I wonder if I could split ethernet to run to both Blu-ray and Freesat??
  16. Maybe this is why Corp is a regional sales bod. Companies have all sorts of tax bills. He is comparing PFC2010's PAYE, NIC and VAT illegal non-payment with legal (but morally wrong) VERY low rates of Corporation Tax of said companies like Vodafone. The reason that these low rates are tolerated is that they pay a lot of PAYE, NIC and VAT on time each and every time they need to. They don't write off million and millions of these taxes and reform as a new company carrying on as before as if nothing had happened. I presume PFC2010's Corporation Tax bill is somewhat irrelevant seeing as they don't make any profit.
  17. forgoing - but forging might be right if it is PFC
  18. Bingo. And don't bother about small claims court, unless you know where he lives on a permanent basis. I served a notice on someone, incurring an extra cost of about £30-35, and they failed to serve it because they couldn't find the person.
  19. ahhh yes. Well I think that a certain person acknowledged that that was a wee bit of a mistake and went back and tidied it up. Bit late as the cat was out of the bag.
  20. Umm that's about USA. Corporation tax avoidance is often at the behest of central government to incentivise them to remain in the country and employ people. I think it's wrong but there you are. Barclays a year or two ago were in the papers for paying the equivalent of 2% corporation tax. This is of course somewhat different from not paying PAYE, NIC and VAT.
  21. Yes but admin/mods have to be a little careful handing out addresses and private info so don't expect too much from them.
  22. £1500 for a bit of pussy???? Strewth that's a bit punchy! Now if only I could have got that for my litter of terriers!!! Funny, one of the ones I practically gave away still hasn't been paid for.
  23. Who is running the club then? Or are these hollow words by AA?
  24. does seem that it is all quite political.
  25. 1) Portsmouth FC has closed down numerous times recently 2) Why not be content with season tickets from Soton? PFC could be considered to be Aldi and SFC could be Waitrose but with both being the same price.
