  1. I don't mind Norwich. Remember going with them to Highbury in 1990 and seeing them lose a brilliant game 4-3 Was notable as it had a great 21 man punch up. Seem to recall Lee Dixon was being a twit and caused it all to kick off.
  2. Best fans? I wonder how Poopey would rate themselves against, say for example, some of those mad Turks? Forgive me but not sure that I have been aware that the best fans in the world do this down their end of the M27
  3. that's why they all take the job at Pompey. It's a no lose situation for them. Expectations there are so low, that anything they do comes across as doing a good job in the face of adversity. If I were a Baggie I would not be overly keen for him to come as I still would think he be too untested. Anyway, what with the run in and promotion, I had become rather bored of this thread. Now that that is done and dusted, I suppose that this can keep us amused for a while.
  4. I have a special needs kid and was wondering what you mean by your generalisation? I can't quite picture it. All I can see is some flippant remark which some will find pretty obnoxious.
  5. there was an article in Car about this last month. http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/Industry-News/Audi-to-buy-Ducati--the-four-rings-expands-from-four-wheels/
  6. Frankly, who really gives a flying **** who has the better support? I support Saints and don't overly care whether Poopey have better support or not. If I did, I reckon I would be supporting Man U.
  7. 341, 316, 336 (I think that was the videprinter one)
  8. oooops!!! 3-0
  9. No doubt some chancer will come along with £5-6m and buy them. However, their hopes of finding some super-rich guy might well be affected by their now very tarnished reputation regardless of how cheap they might be. Still, if someone did buy them, they'd get a **** ground, no infrastructure and TBH and Kanu.
  10. Have the FL found their balls - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2126598/Nick-Harris-Fit-proper-test-delays-Readings-25m-takeover.html Reading seeming to be having a few delays to FPPT
  11. Kanu aged 35? PMSL
  12. I think Spain is a little more complicated than that. Barca/Madrid dominate and want to take all the money for themselves, rather than the current deal which I believe still favours them but not to the tune of the 50% or so that they want. It is systemic of football these days that money is ruining the game. Before the likes of Sky came along, I wonder how many clubs (ignoring the few) went into administration? Maybe that is slightly unfair on Sky, as this situation is really down to greedy/unrealistic chairmen. Problem being of course, that when your opponents pay unrealistic wages, you sometimes feel the need to have to do the same in order to try and stay in touch and/or reach the land of the goose that is laying golden eggs (ie PL and/or Champ League).
  13. Ah - I see it might be misinterpreted. Supporters of other teams do, not us, which I guess is a compliment of sorts.
  14. I supported Brighton (vs Man U) when I went to the FA Cup final in 1983.
  15. Aye. People like to put him down. I think this is largely to do how he speaks - he is quite softly spoken (not really a football thing, save for someone like Wenger) and is full of clichés that are not the usual classic football ones. They tend to overlook that he was a professional in his time, and focus on the physio bit. To me that adds to his CV - he knows what players body's can be put through. To me it seems obvious that he is also a damned good man manager, helped by his knowledge of physiotherapy.
  16. They should be careful for what they wish for. Germany has a min of 51% supporter ownership and it can work. Then you have Barca, Madrid, Bilbao and Osasuna in Spain. But I would suspect that they would end up more like Sheffield Wednesday
  17. I thought that we might slip up at Hull. Having won that one, I am happier with our away form now. I think that the team is being well managed, and while others around us are having a wobble, we seem to be picking up form again. Hopefully that will continue to the end. The bookies certainly think so, as our odds are 1/3. On paper our home games only has Reading to cause a problem, but throw in a derby and the form book becomes irrelevant. Reading is tough, and if they lose to both us and WHU, I think that's that. All their games have a lot of importance for their opponents. Maybe Palace might not as they may be too far adrift for a play off place. Forest of course are trying to avoid relegation, and anyone who can put 7 past Leeds......! Shame that WHU don't have more home games. 3 of their away games are aganist opponents with nothing really to lose or gain. Maybe that allows them to play more freely, but I wouldn't want Reading, Brum, Leicester or Hull in my final lot.
  18. ^ are you just being a pessimistic Saints supporter? As for predictions, I think tonight might give a clearer picture, ie if we get a win.
  19. They can play at West Leigh Park which has a capacity of over 5000. Should be perfect for them and is only 8 or 9 miles from Nottarf.
  20. You forgot to mention the 5 or 10 % bonus to Redknapp as well.
  21. It would have been better for Birch to say that he was a stumbling block because if he isn't then what is? He is only after £17m so could the fact that they have other huge debts, a crumbling stadium, no squad, no infrastructure and no serious buyers out there be the stumbling block?
  22. Do you think that we would be welcomed wearing Saints colours??? For some reason I have sympathy for Argyle. Not sure what the route cause of their problems were, but think that maybe it was building a new stadium and then not being able to pay for it, especially with the failed World Cup bid. Somewhat different situation and reaction to it, than them down the road. Peter Reid went up in my estimation as well, as he apparently paid some of the bills out of his own pocket. I think it was the electricity bill. He also flogged his runner's up FA Cup medal to pay the staff - and then he gets the sack (nice one Ridsdale!)!!
  23. who put the covenant in place? If it was the council, then can't they over turn it?
  24. TPS doesn't have any sway over foreign callers. I got one the other day and the woman was very sympathetic when I told her that the person they were asking for wasn't at this number (as the number was reassigned to me 3 years ago and I get incessant calls). We had a chat and she said they got the data from a company called CP Network up in Basingstoke and that they were the ones to talk to. ie, find out who is selling your details and get them to remove you. The ones that I love is the Indian fellow ringing me up on my home number (as opposed to my work number at home) and saying I have a virus with my PC. When I tell them I have no computer on the number they called on, they are a little stumped.
