what was the official reason for the -10?

Steve Cotterill sacked by Forest.

I feel very very old reading this thread.

PS - not sure that the PL will want to look too deeply into this as, taking the above, most/all clubs might be at it. CL certainly states that many others are, so it is not a Saints only thing.

It's not exactly a huge revelation that football players bet on the time of the first throw in. An amazingly high number of games seem to start off with a throw in within the first 30 seconds or so. Has always been like that.

2nd row from front at Stamford Bridge. Had to stand up and pretend to be happy when they scored (final score 1-0). Absolutely hated it.

Bit different (and as pointed out depends what you want it for), bought the wife an ASUS Transfomer. Good in as much as it has a USB port so you can plug an external hard drive in but as a tab, it transforms into a laptop-ish.

So, they have 10 players, 3 seeming about to go, the others up for sale, yet want to get up to a squad of 20 players by the end of the month or next week or whenever. So lets say they need to get in 12 players, how are they going to do this? They will of course get as many loans in as possible, but they are unrealistic and still think that they can attract PL players to their **** hole. Then of course they are limited to the number of loan players they can field. So they are going to have to look for players on frees & rock bottom wages. I suspect that the only people that will fit the bill are those of a similar age to Kanu's "35" or are 16. If only they had kept their youth squad rather than **** on them as soon as they could. I still see it being 50/50 if they have more than 15 players at the beginning of the season. Who would want to go there if their wages were going to be deferred the whole time and maybe never paid.

I still remember my first game watching the Saints, although not sure exactly when it was as I was a bit young. I know it was pre FA Cup because I was told I couldn't go to that as I was too young. So 1975 or 1976 - prob 1976. A score of 1-1; I thought it was brilliant and recall being deflated when my father said that it was a pretty dire game. Can't remember who it was against but think it might have been WBA because I recall striped shirts. Looking at the fixtures that season, we only had two 1-1 home draws against Villa and Carlisle (and didn't play WBA). Then the glory days of the 1980s - life was fun. The struggle through the latter half of the 1990s and then the Premier League. Then we have the journey back and the fun times for the last 2 seasons. All has changed, and to me, I really must say that I preferred the old days. Maybe that is just memories embellishing reality, although L1 didn't have all the dreadful fanfare that accompanies the PL. The Champ . But I see a point to the article, but it seems to be misdirected at Saints. The whole of football has changed. As more money is pumped into it, the less attractive it becomes. Maybe that is why the writer keeps on going on about lower league games. He should really recognise that and point out that it is the whole of professional football that he is disenchanted with. It starts at the top - Champions League where teams in the PL strive to get to. Teams in the Champ strive to get to the PL. Teams in L1 strive to get to the Champ. Unfortunately money and football are linked and there is no escaping that. If you do, then you have to support teams way down the chain. I have no affinity with these teams and have only ever supported one team, and I always will. The shirts are diabolically bad, but that's not a great problem. I won't be buying one. I wouldn't buy one anyway. As the colour of the shirt isn't the reason I support Saints, it isn't going to stop me coming.

I thought that there were supposed to be discounts for booking in advance. With SW Trains it seems there aren't any, except when booking on the day. Is this the same all round the country or is it different for us because we live in the affluent South? Costs me about £40 day return to London travelling at **** times. Easier for me to jump in the motor and potter the 90 miles or so up to town.

Faintly amusing.....SPL teams didn't want NewCo in with them. Maybe they wanted a shot at PL footie. 1st Div didn't want Rangers foisted on them - presumably it would hurt their promotion chances. So entering the 3rd Tier would have caused them all sorts of problems financially. So much for sporting integrity. Let's just wait and see what exactly this integrity is!!

Do they have a youth team? I thought that they were all farmed out a long time ago - quality over quantity and all that.

Driving from the UK to Italy in August....Travel Tips Sought
angelman replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
Careful through France. Take a hi-vis, spare bulbs, warning triangle and breathalyser. With the latter, you might be able to pick one up on the boat. They only cost £2 or £3. The French police like stopping British cars. Speeding on the autoroute is quite tight these days, but you should be OK under 86mph. The Swiss are also a bit arsey with speeding. -
Surely Baker Tilly can't accept it on behalf of the creditors from CVA1. 2% of 20% is 0.4% or is that wrong?

Recently, what with all the hype how England were one of the favourites to win this and that, I have shied away from country. I found the arrogance cringe worthy and unattractive. Now that we have a manager who to me seems more interested in the success of the team than personal success (I know the two go hand in hand), there is a humility about England that is much more appealing. I enjoyed watching our efforts and was not too upset about being knocked out last night. At least it means we won't have to endure being walloped by the Germans. As an aside, does anyone think that all the teams (except for the Germans) are pretty poor? But to me, it is club first. Always has been. If I am over seas, I will always try and get news of Saints. If I can't get live coverage, then updates. If no updates, the score by hook or crook. With England, I am happy to wait until I get back to civilisation to get the score.

Why buy them in June, when there isn't a huge demand for anyone what with the Euros on. All you would do is, as mentioned above, pay too much for them as well as picking up their wages for 8 weeks. Two players on say a combined 15k for 8 weeks = £120k + NI and all the other bits. Unless you really, really want a player, why sign him so early in the off season?

That's the plan. Will be in the freezer shortly.

Bloody cats! Ha - I just had a bloody muntjac in the wife's new flower bed. She's giving me grief for not getting the garden fenced off properly.
-
Lawn sand. Google it - might not work so well what with all the rain we are getting (dilutes it too much).

I don't think that the PL are that stupid and can and will hold it back, diverting what is owed to the appropriate people.
-
hmmmm - gloss?
-
good luck to them. I suspect that all they need do is match Chin's offer and the creditors would go with them over the money lender.
-
From the article Why do they have to be competitive? Don't they realise that they should just be concerned about survival rather than being competitive. So what if they get relegated next season - it's not supposed to be easy for them. I am glad to see the SPL discussing the integrity of the league by not steam rollering Rangers back in, although in the end I suspect that they will be readmitted. Where is the integrity in the FL?

silly question - I've got a Galaxy S2 and it comes with maps and I think navigation. Does nav use data?

You also need to take into account the FX rate: http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=USD&view=1Y
