Season ticket saving is £121

I find the categorising of matches all rather pathetic. I know that there is a supply & demand aspect, but for the sake of an extra £100-200k's worth of income, it seems a half arsed measure.

Problem with Fulham is that they have a very small plot of land. A few years ago, they tried to grab some of Bishop's Park (behind the Putney end stands). They said that they would astro turf it and do this and that, which was generally thought to be nothing short of land grab. There are a lot of lawyers and QCs who live around there, and it was quashed quick smart. Then there were plans to build over the Thames and that was quashed just as quickly. The Cottage is Grade 1 listed (I believe), so Fulham are pretty much stuck with that stadium and cannot really expand. I guess that they might be able to double the height of the stands, but the last time this was proposed, the locals weren't overly enthusiastic. There have also been rumours of moving, but that would involve moving quite a way away as there isn't another suitable site in the borough. So there is the London premium as mentioned in the OP, but it is a very small plot and I can't see why it would be worth £150m-200m

I have tried to defend the bloke, mainly because the chap behind me always slates him. Sad fact is, that he isn't good enough and when ever Shaw wasn't picked my heart sank a bit. To be honest, the whole stadium seemed to give a collective groan. Shaw still makes mistakes, but he is young and learning and has so many more positive attributes that Fox isn't even challenging to start. He's cover for when Shaw get's injured. Is that good enough? Surely all players in the squad should be pickable on their own merits rather than as cover.

A bit more up-to-date http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/03/everton-wage-bill-turnover-accounts

LAst figures I can see were for 2010/11, where Everton had a turnover of £82m and wages of £58m

What is the situation with the investigation into Italian football (including Napoli) for tax evasion and money laundering? And what is the likely outcome? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/top-italian-football-clubs-raided-by-finance-police-investigating-taxdodging-and-money-laundering-8672744.html I can see CL/EUFA Cup disqualification, but maybe not for next season. They have relegated clubs before, but would they relegate so many?

If you have a family, I think that the New Forest is a pretty good place to bring them up in. We might take it a little too much for granted. For those who don't have families, maybe living north of Soton would be better. London is only 75 miles away so it's not in the back of beyond either. How many Man U/C players live in Manchester? Chelsea players live in Cobham or some such Surrey town. While Soton isn't the nicest of towns, I am not sure it would put me off, especially as it is by no means the nastiest either.

CB, that's very cynical of you - but I do agree to a certain extent. It should be remembered that he hasn't said a word about anything. All I have heard is his father and his agent. Nothing from him.
-
Just take the realistic view that he isn't going to come to us. That way when he doesn't you won't be disappointed but if he does you can jizz yourself.
-
Is this a case of someone who has a rather over inflated opinion of his worth? To start with I felt a wee bit sorry that he was seemingly being mucked around by his agents and that he might be left in limbo. I have now got to the stage where I don't really care any more and rather hope that we don't sign him. He obviously isn't particularly interested in us. Lovren seems much more keen on joining us, and seemingly has a better attitude. I know the kid is looking after himself and trying to get the best pay day possible, but really, I doubt we were offering him peanuts.

so Hooper a definite no then?

I'm a quality seeker as well, and the wife does John Lewis. Guess it might also be an age thing! Although I consider myself young, technology is getting the better of me. I remember my parents not being able to programme the video to record - I sort of feel like that now!

What sort of reputation does MP have in South America? Maybe he can attract a Brazilian to the club - isn't that one of the reasons he was appointed in the first place?
-
NO. And I have no interest in eating any animals testicles or pecker.

Why are people getting so excited about this? Hatch in #12 has it spot on. If Kelly & Michael had some disability/illness and Blyth was struggling financially to support them, then I would have more sympathy. Blyth wants to cash in one of his mementos - it obviously means something to him, as he wants to keep it within the Saints "family", but obviously he isn't too attached to it. If one was being cynical, you could say that he is playing on the emotions of Saints supporters in order to up the price.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22856508 This offer from a month ago seems to not have been taken up, so would that mean that there are ulterior motives at play? I still remember when SISU were sniffing around us and it seemed to be the only option on the horizon. Give them their die, our board saw SISU or what they were (as did a lot of people on here and at Coventry). It's sad that these fears have come true.

yup - lots of crashes. also having lots of problems with the in built flash player in Chrome which doesn't play most of the inbedded videos.

Ta MLG, much clearer (I think)!

^ I'm of an age where I have no idea what people are saying with this twitter thing, nor who is saying what. Is it Shaw contacting Peach and intimating that he is to sign a new contract? No idea what RT is.

I hear the New Forest is nice...... Otherwise how about the Pembroke Coast, and at the same time, the Brecon Beacons?

Agree with the 1980-85 and my nipper goes along wearing my shirt from then. Also like 1999-2001. Hate the 1985-89 and particularly the 1993-1995.
