Being a Scotsman, I'm sure he would more likely have a bottle of whisky rather than whiskey.

I seem to recall Redmond was similarly considered by many on here when we signed him. I always wonder, if people are such good talent spotters as they seem to be on this forum, why they don't actually do it for a living? I would have thought it would be quite fun.

They've been quite proactive as well. I got a call from the ticket office, asking if there was a problem with one of the season tickets as one of them hadn't apparently been renewed (it had, just that they were both in the same name and I had finally managed to get that sorted).

Absolutely. As a club we buy the £10-15m and hope that it works out and he becomes a £30-40m player, rather than going out and buying the ready made £30-40m player. Of course this is a risk, but the rewards are greater when it works out. Problem recently is that it hasn't been working out. Just imagine, we could have done a Crystal Palace and paid £30m for Christian Benteke and £28m for Sakho.

Spurs are better than us, aren't they?

Oh come on. He moved to West Ham so that he could be closer to his family!!

Robinson's Orange Barley Water. The Mrs and daughter drink OJ and lemonade (which allows me to tuck into the beer and give them the car keys).

Disappointing crowd for the EngSco game. And that's one of the problems - lack of atmosphere doesn't help with the game. I remember hearing a v. good radio interview with an England player who said a couple of things that have stuck with me. The Ladies can compete with the Men U17, maybe sometimes U18, but after that, no chance. This player then went on to suggest changing the pitch and goal sizes. I thought that made sense. These full size pitches are designed really for the men's game, would the spectacle not be better if the pitch size was reduced by 10-15%? Maybe more (and I can't remember if she gave an opinion on how much the reduction should be).

Money for Liverpool winning the Champions League?

LeG, I am presuming you are not at liberty to tell us how much it is (or maybe you aren't sure of the amount). -
Money for Liverpool winning the Champions League?

How lovely is lovely is all anyone wants to know. The Sun ran an article on last year's CL final saying if LFC win, we would be in line for £15m. Others have trotted out £10m. TBH it's no skin of LFC's nose, as the money they have made makes van Dijk's signing cheap at half the price. -
Success for Saints is making a profit, regardless of where we finish so long as we don't get relegated (as that ****s up revenue).

KL couldn't give a monkeys about the future. It was about who would pay the most. I fear that in a business where owners do lavish money on their teams, there is an inevitability in that we will struggle.
-
I thought the French captain, Mme Henry, looked quite attractive.

What period are players usually paid over - is it 3 years? Spreading the cost over a long period to try and move him on, would make sense.

I think it started with Lovren, continued with Lallana and finished with van Dijk. Actually you can add Fonte to that as well, but he doesn't get the level of vitriol that these three get. Lovren after a year was professing his head or heart was in London. Lallana while captain and on international duty, openly stated he hoped he would be off. van Dijk threw a strop as well. All 3 were somewhat disrespectful, as was Fonte. At the end of the day, I don't care too much as I am not their employer. Supporters always have a rather narrow view on things, but that is part and parcel of supporting the club. But you can look at others who have left: Mane, Shaw, Lambert, Clyne, Alderwiereld (although not ours in the first place), Schneiderlin... none of those get any vitriol. Supporters are well aware that players will move on to bigger and better things, but its the way they do it, which I would have thought was fairly obvious and am surprised that you find it surprising.

Can I ask - why do you feel the need to constantly troll this forum? Does it give you some warm fuzzy feeling? Are you very lonely and crave the attention?? Seems a very strange thing you constantly do.

I set my VPN to India and it works OK.

We're likely/definitely going to have to take a hair cut with this one. One would like to get our money back for the remainder of his contract (which is something like £10.5m). I doubt anyone would pay more than £8m or maybe €10m.

AS my old mother would say, potatoes have jackets, gentlemen have coats.

No skin off my nose. I supported Saints before he was born, and no doubt I'll still be doing so after he leaves. If he wants to wind up the supporters of the club, then so b, e it. He has a reputation in and out of football, so as Nordic says, it ain't really a secret.

Did Lallana and Lovren play tonight? I couldn't get past that blonde bird pitch invader, so might have missed them.
-
have to take your word for that, as I fell asleep for most of the 1st half.

Does it make a difference to how unfunny this video is? (ie no I haven't)
-
Why because I considered something that was deeply unfunny and puerile as just that?
-
Oh Roberto Carlos has shared it has he?? Wow. Then it must be funny and amusing then. I am happy to stick in the "miserable gits" camp, as it is utterly banal, unfunny and pointless.
