Bolton have been bought/saved. "International consortium" say that they have £7m in place to buy Bury and are trying to get EFL to rescind.
-
Question ..... has anyone ever had/seen a Carabao? I believe it's a drink (energy???) of sorts.
-
Really? Bet Man Utd are....they've had every game of theirs on TV for years.
-
Bet Sky won't even focus on it.
-
Shame its not at home

Very good. Well, with all the **** going on at the moment, your sarcasm made me smile. “Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence.”

I think you're pretty spot on. Injuries are to be expected, at least over 2 or 3 seasons! So it was bound to happen. And as you say, LW we have Djenepo and Boufal.

Not sure the EFL had much other choice really. What's going on at Bolton??

Thought Long might have had a run out!

Yes, I did, and drove through most of the Downs to avoid Chichester which was blocked (this is last August). But it is stuck in the middle of a field (obv not quite literally but not far off) with a few house to the north of it and the road/railway (Falmer) and a few buildings of the Uni to the south. I said that the outside was nice and had been designed well, I'm not denying that, but I just didn't like the interior that much. Behind the goal was pretty nasty but the side swoops looked nice. And there is no free transport for Cup games, and I'll stand by it being a pain (albeit not overly burdensome) to have to take a train to get there and back. But life is about compromise, and the B&HA to get their ground, that is the compromise they have to make.

I went to the 2nd Round League Cup game last season, again on a bright sunny day. The ground is a pain to get to, but not burdensome. I understand why it is placed where it is, but its pretty awful being stuck out in the middle of a field. Ground is nice from the outside - as I was there a bit early, I walked around it a couple of times and the benefits of being stuck out in a field allow for a bit of design to go into it. I felt it pretty nasty inside, and while the architecture of SMS is about as functional as you can get, I just felt the Amex was style over substance, at least behind the goals it was. And getting away after the game is of course not great. But they had nice pies and I guess padded seats are nice.

People seem to not realise why players come to us. It's not that difficult - we offer big wages. Once on big wages, they aren't going to really want to shift onto lower wages (although some will) rather they want to make hay when the sun is shining. Unless other clubs match their wages that we give, they ain't going anywhere. Slightly different with older players.

Didn't he offer to buy Chelsea when Abramovich was refused a visa?
-
You forgot Armstrong.

Nice is even closer to his home in Monaco.
-
Funny how everyone can't find the cash when they want to buy back players. Guess it's the wages.

If I have to eat, its usually just a hot dog from the van in the car park on the Northam/Kingsland corner. Not the foot long one for £5, but the slightly smaller, slightly better one for £5. BUT.... if the pies are as good as B&HA one's I might try them. Bloke in front of me always used to buy a Chicken Balti Pukka, which given the smell......! He seemed a bit miffed that they were no longer on sale, but thank God for that.
-
Haven't tried "our" pies, but did have one at B&HA last August. Was the highlight of the evening (as well as being quite good).
-
Do people who regularly go buy programmes? I can't remember the last time I did.
-
Big 6 supporters are all mostly tossers except (IMO of course) Man City.
-
Or £15 for a £2 baked Camembert and some bread.
-
Yup. It really is every time (as they always score against us).

Well, I trained in with my lad, arrived at about 1pm. Had a nice Thai opposite the Mayflower. Killed some time in the art gallery. Turned up at SMS. Went to my seat. Watched the game. Left and caught the train back. Having spent £1450 on 2 STs I think that's probably enough, and I have no intention of buying over priced low quality food and drink. If KO is evening, I might buy something, but that's it. I go the letter about the Gasworks, and just binned it. Have no interest in paying to use it, nor (as I said above) am I interested in eating bad/average food at the ground while paying over the odds for it. If I want a burger, which seems about all they can do, then I might as well go to Byrons. Nothing on this menu - https://www.southamptonfc.com/-/media/files/other/gasworks-food-menu.pdf?la=en - for a mere £22 for 2 courses appeals in any way. Basically, if I am going to make a day of it, which I like to do, I'll go to a restaurant in town and do it properly.

Saturday 3pm - Spain kicks up a fuss - TV versus the fans ?
angelman replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
LOL. Was it a good game? Always good to see Barca and Real lose, although with the latter, its a bit too frequent.
