  1. Father's legacy??? It was to her, not some mugs like us who go to games. She made £200m - that was his legacy to her. If it was to us, he would have left the club in a trust.
  2. Off to Hartford Athletic
  3. +1 First half was utter utter dog crap. I think as bad as LCFC and lucky to be at 3-0. The score flattered us, even if we did play better in the 2nd half. It would have been impossible to play any worse. It certainly wasn't a 3-1 game. More like 7-1.
  4. Home win 1/750, Away win 500/1 !!!
  5. this is utter utter dog crap.
  6. Have we touched the ball yet?
  7. You are right. I read though, on the OS, that they are donating the money they earned on Friday (ie the day of the match) to charity. And that's a problem, as that **** show was not just of Friday's doing. I know PEH has come out and given an interview. I know Ralph has, taking 100% of the blame (at least he didn't throw the players under the bus when they absolutely deserved it). But those seem mere, and somewhat hollow, platitudes. A bit of honesty about the **** going on would I'm sure be appreciated by the supporters. And where is the club's hierarchy? Do they have anything to say? Or is just up to the manager and the captain to face the music, while an announcement is trotted out on the OS? If I owned a football club and saw that pile of dog crap on Friday, I can tell you one thing, I would be out there making noises.
  8. Have to agree that as things stand, it will just be kicking the can down the road.
  9. The singing was not for the players, nor for the club. It was for the supporters who wanted to retain some pride on the night.
  10. And I guess the donation is tax deductible. Problem is, the £200k may be a nice gesture, but not sure that's going to entice me to renew. It seems a very easy way to absolve themselves of THE worst ever performance in the league. TBH they could have done a day's pay for Bournemouth and Chelsea too! And why the staff? It was the players who did it, and the players who get paid the big bucks.
  11. I stayed to the end just to see if it stopped raining.
  12. I'm afraid as time goes by, I'm more and more with you on this, esp re the PL.
  13. Since Puel took over......62 home league games....15 wins. That's 15 wins in 3¼ seasons or an average of 4.5 a season. Are you really surprised that the support is flat? I still go (as it means I can escape the Mrs), but TBH I don't really enjoy it anymore. I live in hope that we get a rip roaring game/atmosphere, but it never happens. What goes on on the pitch is responsible for that (and the last time it was buzzing was after JWP scored vs Spurs last season). This season at home, P5 W0 D1 L4. I'm a bad supporter I guess - I pay my money for my 2 season tickets, yet find it hard to really get enthused. Maybe it would be best for the atmosphere if I didn't bother turning up. And FWIW, for those 2 STs and other tickets purchased for league games, I reckon its about £6k I've spent to see those 15 wins, which works out at £400 a win.
  14. Well I actually know what Paki means, as well as being more than aware of it commonly being used as a racial slur. Paki - pure ; stan - land (of). Pakistan = Land of the Pure. But I also take into account intent. Applying any accusations of racism to Aussie is beyond banal and not even worth going any further with. Englishman, Chinaman, Frenchman, Dutchman, German, Scotsman, Ulsterman are to me not derogatory. If they are to you, then that's your wont.
  15. Aye, something like that. Somewhat different....was in a restaurant last night pre-game, and the young lad on the next table thought we were going to be 2-2 and gave me a very disapproving look when I said we'd likely loose 4-0. While I know you weren't being serious, the optimism of youth was sad to see, given that it was going to be badly trampled on. Quite how badly for a lad at his 6th or 7th game was something even I couldn't have seen.
  16. I'm with you, and wasn't being wholly serious, although......
  17. There's one.... She owns 20% and if cheap enough, could take us on!!
  18. I can't be, as I have a friend wo is a Frenchman
  19. Null
  20. I'm a born and bred Englishman from England.
  21. I have 2 STs in the Kingsland block 30, so over the past 4 seasons, give or take, that is £5800 for home league games only. I have bought additional tickets for home league games as well, so say £6k. 19/20 - P5 - W0, D1, L4 18/19 - P19 - W5, D8, L6 17/18 - P19 - W4, D7, L8 16/17 - P19 - W6, D6, L7 A total of P62 - W15, D22, L25 .... and 16/17 was when we finished 8th with Puel. And with the home games a quarter completed this season, I can't see us eclipsing the previous 3 seasons number of wins. Basically I pay to be entertained and I think that I have been getting exceedingly poor value for money, and as such, I am likely to not renew (which I seem to say every season!!!!)
  22. Actually most of my football banter mates have been quiet and or sympathetic.
