http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/Football/Championship/VideoIndex/0,,12555,00.html there is more on there than the championship, it still sickens me how soft both their goals were, had we had perry playing the full 90 mins then who knows we may have won as the defense looked a little stronger in the second half

To be fair to the lino the second incident was out (if its the one right at the end) but other than that an awful game by the lino on the chapel/kingsland corner and the ref. I couldnt properly see the Euell incident but from where I was it was 50/50 at the worst and the ref then turned a blind eye to countless pushes and high boots from wolves and almost everytime we went forward play was stopped for something The linesman was rubbish there were a few incidents where nothing was done right in front of him, i.e. saints players being shoved in the back, a defender pulling DMG back by holding his arm and pulling him off balance However I must hand it to them it did stir up the atmosphere =p

Although I would liek him gone I cant see what good that would do at the moment that would leave Wilde solely in charge, unfortunately there is no alternative, if there was I would help lowe clear his desk but until there is an alternative speculation is meaningless
-
I would give Jan a chance, as we would be able to bring in new players to fill in the gaps and secure our defence. The football we play is some of the most entertaining I have seen in a long time, but we need a stronger back four and strike force, so give Jan the time and money to do this and then see what happens.
-
Surely its scouts that do the leg work and reccomend players to the club, be this Lowe or Jan, in anycase Lowe and Wilde will have to be approached as they control the money so they have the final say just as in any club, I seriously doubt Lowe has available players names that he likes in a hat and draws one out and announces that Jan will be recieving him in the near future

What were the lyrics I didnt hear it the other night in the Chapel?

Thats just what I was thinking as the ball drifted towards his position seconds after the confusion of the sub at such a late stage, although we could have conceded after that as coventry had a good break Did they announce the extra time last night I didnt hear it?

This is not a plea for anyone to go or travel miles to see what I am predicting will be another game of attractive play but no result and sloppy defence, but those who are going we need to make an atmosphere at the Watford game it was dead there was no feel there was an air of submitance before the ref blew for kick-off I dont like singing if no-one around me is, but as it was shown against Shef Utd last year the crowd can mke a difference and although we will have at best half the capacity we did then we have got to try and make a difference and stir up an atmosphere to make the home advantage count COYR

Im going to be there I have a big sense of foreboding though hopefully Saints will prove us all wrong and somehow get a win If I'm being naively optimistic then I will go for a McGoldrick hat-trick too =p
-
If you were in charge of team selection for Shef Utd what would you do to change the line up formation tactics etc. For me it would be to include John Skacel and Perry (or is he injured one loan I've forgotten) and then Euell if he is ready yet, with Killer on the Bench to maintain his fitness but have him there just incase I would drop McGoldrick and start a 4-4-2 with Pehhart and John upfront then Skacel probably playing left wing back as it was clear on Saturday that the ratio of experience - youth in defence needs a complete turn around with 3 experienced players to at the most 1 younger player. If you wanted to keep the more attacking options you can have 2 midfielders central and the 2 on the wing playing inbetween them and the strikers. I have a fairly naive view of where players can play but where would others put people in an attempt to change our fortunes without removing Lowe/Wilde or bring in any loan players?

Apart from the Celtic game (Claus' Testimonial) I havnt been to a Saints defeat in well over a year so 2-1 Saints for me (shows how few games I am able to attend =p) COYR

That may be true but I doubt any WBA fans were saying that this time last year whats to say we wont have the same drive? Obviously we wont win the league and I doubt we will get promotion but this league is so close a string of wins can lift you to any position as for the decent keeper Kelvin has been amazing so far this season so we have some of it right already
-
I noticed that too playing down the wing Norwich seemed a threat almost every time with little to no help for the full backs, the problem is with attacking wingers supporting the striker its too much to expect them to be defensive as well so I think Jan needs to look at possible new formations to counter this problem
-
Although the result against Coventry was dissapointing we are still far from doomed as many on here seem to believe, after the performances I have seen at SMS this year I believe that we will finish comfortably mid-table maybe higher, if I am being very optimistic. At the moment we are joint on points with Watford and only 4 points off the play-off's (if you want a truely positive outlook) The Watford game is now very important to pick up a win at home in a 6 pointer and obviously begin to move up the table. Last year at this point WBA had only won one or possibly 2 games by this point and then won the league, anything can still happen! Keep the faith COYR

have any of the doom and gloom fans actually been to a game? or is for most of them the 10 min bus ride across the city too far to go? I can understand those outside Southampton or with genuine commitments but those who would rather stay at home read this, the echo and listen to solent then degrade the team really annoy me (my aunt and uncle fall into this) I have seen a few games this season and when we play well enough to show that we are too good to get relegated and performances will improve, just because the televised games have been poor does not mean that every single performance has gone badly so far, get down to St Marys and support the team you may enjoy it, you may not if your feelings are confirmed from a live game then fair enough, but dont slag the team off from yesterday QPR and the views of others or the echo

Im going to do my best to get up their as a chance to meet up with a friend in Reading I haven't see for a while and give the lads all the support they deserve

What would you do if Mike Ashley bought Saints next?
Rocker268 replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
I think at the moment he is almost the last person in the world I would want anywhere near Southampton! I dont know all the facts but it seems to me he has ruined any credibility Keegan returned to Newcastle and has made them yet again the butt of everyones jokes -
Yea I realised that it was poor reporting and poor camera work those saves were top quality and the singing of super kelv rang round the stadium for a while shame that wasnt shown

21 shots on goal....more than the whole of last season?
Rocker268 replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Tonight was a good match we should have won about 4 or 5 - 1 in the end after their second half almost goal line clearence but Kelvin made some fantastic saves during the second half this is the first game since we beat brum I have been too and ts a joy to behold my friend came with me as hes an aldershot fan and said we were great and should easily beat coventry soon as they hate sides who play fast like us -
Sounds good I havnt yet listend to the whole thing but I will do what I heard though was good well done
-
Yea im pretty sure we get televisual rights on the pub and beer forum I started a thread about good supporters bars and im pretty sure someone said the royal oak has sky and setanta
-
I could have sworn I saw a Spoons down in Portswood Saturday but I may have been mistaken thats a bit excessive though 4 or 5 in one place =p
-
Im not sure Bart has had good potential but from the scores when he has played recently it has made me wonder maybe a loan will do him good if he can recapture his form i can remember thinking a great goalie in the making!
