14 games left, 28-30 points needed, a 2 point per game ratio, essentially over a 38 game season that would mean 76 points, easily a top 4 finish. Even in the Koeman season we only got 63 points. We’re done and 0.01% is probably accurate, if not generous. It would be nice to end the season in some form though. MLG please fact check that maths. Ta.

Definitely a position that needs strengthening quality-wise. They have a striker too, Sekou somethingorother. There’s a player in there. 😏

Bournemouth next at home. Let's not get ahead of ourselves but it would be bloody brilliant to win that. All of sudden we could only be only 7 points from safety. Ok I'll shut up now. 😜

At... pause for effect... LAST. Doesn't mean a great deal in the grand scheme of things other than potentially dragging Ipswich back to the Championship with us but we haven't had the winning feeling much so let's enjoy it and finally watch MOTD in anticipation. I still want us to ditch the 3 CBs. A 4141 with Ramsdale, KWP, THB, Bednarek, Wellington, Les, Dibling, Fernandes, Gronbaek, Sulemana, Onuachu IMO would be an interesting and attacking way to go. Outscore teams rather than attempt defending. But that's for another day. Get... pause for effect...IN.

If Wellington and Gronbaek turn out to be the best signings we've ever made, Sulemana continues his hot streak and stays injury free, Dibling becomes our best academy prospect of all time, Lesley becomes our defensive midfield powerhouse we've been craving for years, KWP stays, THB becomes the England quality centre back we all hoped he would be and Onuachu starts regularly banging in goals, then I genuinely think we have a chance of survival. What, it could happen, right... 😜

He was also one of the newer recruits to say he wanted to stay and play after relegation if my memory serves before he was shipped off to Juve. I liked him and I would have liked to see him stay but he just wasn't a fit for Martin. I actually hope he does well at Everton, despite my dislike of them.

Lest we forget…

Dibling and Supermana back - Ipswich won't know what hit 'em. Win 2 of the season coming up. Race for 19th place is on.

Not that's a surprise to anyone, but it seems SR are resigned to relegation. Which is actually marginally favourable to 2 Januarys' ago when we panic bought a load of crap for big money. I'd much rather keep our wad dry for summer moves rather than blow money now on a lost cause.

Dismantling a team of players this January that would otherwise be good players for next season's Championship promotion push does not sit well with me. Yes most of them have proven they aren't Premier League quality but Archer is young and learning and has shown, albeit sporadically, that he can put the ball in the net. We've already loaned out BBD, another player that you'd think would do well in the Championship, I'd be loathe to see Archer go too. Leaving us Onuachu, AA and, oh yeah, Ross Blooming Stewart up front for the rest of the season would be madness enough, losing players we would otherwise be wise to keep for the Championship would be madness and, sadly, something SR would probably do. If we go down this route and the likes of BBD and Archer don't come back, we really will be looking at a rebuild in the Championship and then I struggle to see us getting promoted next season. And, as we've seen, the longer a team is in the Championship, the tougher it becomes to get back out of it. If the club have said No to loaning Archer out, then good. For now. I hope he's in their long term plans. He's one of the players that, IF we got promoted next season, might actually be a good striking option for the following Prem campaign, with the experience of a Championship season and hopefully regular football behind him.

Fixed it for you. 😜

Not to mention we're only 2 weeks away from seeing the Loch Ness Drogba. 😁 Good luck Dom, ironically I think we're OK for Championship strikers next season in AA, Archer and BBD but depends if BBD comes back. Perhaps 4th choice?
-
I would have no problem with KWP leaving this window, one of the few players that could be leave with his head held high from our current squad. Makes sense for us to get some money for him, even if the other full back options aren't as good, it doesn't look like we'll be winning games anyway with or without him! I'll miss him though, probably my favourite player and he's been a good servant.

Half wishing we'd take the 6 points and just end the season now. Getting more embarrassing every game.
-
My bet on Onuachu scoring twice or more today better come true now. 🙄
-
Jesus wept.
-
Heads up, we go again.
-
Why can't we have nice things... Keep the faith lads.
-
Come on Macca. Do us proud.
-
We've had worse starts... 😝
-
AA and Fraser. Yay. Edit - I'd rather see SAA given a game than watch AA do what he does all game.
-
It’s probably delusion and rose tints but I still think we have it in us to surpass 20 points this season. It would require getting, and keeping, everyone fit but it’s doable. Still shit but at least we’d only be a mild laughing stock rather than a huge one.
-
Same team for me too. With no Sulemana or Dibling, both who have been very good lately, I’d be interested in seeing an Onuachu/Archer pairing. I still think AA will start though.
-
We need to prepare for that eventuality. We are woefully light in CM especially DM. I know we've brought Gronbaek in but I'd also like to see more up front, especially with Dibling out for a while. Oh, and another CB but maybe I'm just being greedy. One week left.
-
Depends on who's left after sales, shipping out players etc. We'll be back to Baz in goal, Bree and Manning potentially as wing backs etc. It will need work. I do think we'd still have a decent squad but this time round I'd like to see it strengthened sensibly for the chance to stay in the Prem should we go up again. But that's easier said than done based on our recent transfer history.
