After the game against Brighton he described Gus Poyet & Mariccio Taricco as "having an absolute thrombo" during the game. Made me smile!

So we're sacking managers even before they're our managers! Surely we'd have already negotiated at least a ballpark settlement before offering a contract? I can imagine NC going to the mazaratti garage in Lyndhurst, getting in, feeling the leather, test driving, and then, just before shaking hands to seal the deal saying: "how much?!? F**k off I'm not paying that!" I'm chuckling outside but crying inside.

Before the JPT game the usual radio solent commentator - can't remember his name - said that the Hart rumour was a complete fabrication. He said very strongly that it was made up, and for a BBC presenter to say that then they must be pretty sure. Think he even said he spoke to someone at the club. Uncle Dave Merrington to steady the ship before we get a proper appointment in!!! He's a legend!

Is The Forum Representative Of Saints Fans In General
lumpofshipperley replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
No, it tends to be a forum for the more vocal who want to be noticed and give their mostly left wing or right wing views, which is fine. I would hope that most of us (the silent majority) just read it and roll their eyes. Sometimes we'll respond to more moderate posts (like this one) but most of the time it isn't worth the effort. -
For all those people who slated Baird for taking the money to play in the reserves - eat your words!!! To be fair of all the players who#ve left I didn't think Baird would be prem class! Well done to the lad!
-
Let's hope they have some players left by the time we play them!!!

75 points will take us very near or in the play offs, based on the last few seasons. To achieve that we need just over 2 points a game: 15-16 wins from 21 games. It'll have to be a run as good as we have been on before the last 3-4 results. It should be a fun ride!

Yeah I saw that episode of Family Fortunes.

Love these complete over reactions. Like reading the Daily Mail. Micheal Owen diving in '98 anyone??? Can't remember us slagging ourselves off and throwing ourselves out of that competition!!!

Lowe - one of the UK's worst ever chairmen?
lumpofshipperley replied to Tamesaint's topic in The Saints
He was also here for Saint's greatest period since Lawrie McMenemy including an fa cup final defeat and a successful move into a brilliant new stadium. In the last championship season, fans always say he should have budgeted for success, by paying for all the high earners. What they forget is that the season before we had all of those good players and just avoided relegation. Another season like that and we would have gone into administration about 4 months earlier than we did. He did a lot right and as well as a lot wrong. -
That's true, but also bundles of money helps too. Just saw the goal on iplayer - he should always score, but he sells the keeper an absolute kipper. In fact I bought 2 off him as well.
-
Is that a joke? We've sold loads of young talented players that have come through our academy, and alot of them are playing today! Unfortunately almost all at a higher level and not for us...
-
Paul McDonald anyone??? Seems to score alot of goals for Celtic nowadays.
-
Here here. We will be lucky to avoid another relegation at this rate.

How damaging do you think the Pinnacle fiasco will be..?
lumpofshipperley replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I don't think it wouldn't have made any difference. The serious buyers only pop their heads up in the 11th hour to get the best price and let the others do the leg work, which is what happened. There's always too much analysis on how things went wrong. It's not always somebody's fault. Give them the benefit, assume they had the best intentions and move forward. -
But then? But then what? If he's done that well, he'll probably get poached anyway! A middle term appointment is pretty rare in football nowadays!
-
Thanks Mark. I thought you were better than your predecessor, but it's hard to right a losing streak and when new owners come in it's usually the case that a new manager is appointed. All the very best.
-
Whatever you think about him as a keeper, the guy is definitely good enough to play for us and is as the definition of loyalty. That deserves RESPECT.
-
How can anyone be blamed? In fact how can anyone forsee exactly what would happen once they went into exclusivity? Some poor b*&tard lost 500k for nothing!
-
The football league has done what it has done to all clubs in our position. They held their ground. It's their ball and they won't let us play. Simple as. Maybe not fair but that's life. And tt's not always someone's fault. Remember that some poor sod has just wasted 500k on a big lump of nothing.
-
We were very close to going out of business and there's no guarantees that the new backer will be any better. Things might get worse before they get better. There's still a long way to go.
-
Although that is probably true, I reckon the PLC would have gone into administration a lot sooner. You also have to remember we had quite a few proven strikers the season before and almost got relegated!!!
