I think we need to bring back little Nicola Cortese on a short term contract to pick our next manager. Say what you want about the man but he had a good eye for a manager: Alan Pardew - oversaw some great player recruitment and brought us some silverware. Nigel Adkins - double promotion and looked likely to comfortably keep us up in his first season in the PL. Mauricio Pochettino - 14th then 8th in the PL. Little Nic may have been given his P45 in Jan 2014 but it’s likely he had already identified Ronald Koeman as Poch’s successor late that summer, such was his footballing CEO vision. Get the wee man in on a short term contract and let him identify our next saviour.

I think you’re being unfair. Under the Tories, Duckie was able to keep his rents really low because he liked his tenants. As soon as that new broom Kier got into power, all that changed immediately. Duck simply had to raise his prices because Labour something something . Nothing he could do about it really. -

Case was always going wasn’t he? On health grounds. He had significant time off due to his health when he was supposed to be giving evidence at the Covid enquiry, think that was nearly a year ago. -
Sounds like an even game….

I see that rubbish Liam Delap has scored again, glad we didn’t sign him.

BBC are going with this line up. It’s possible I suppose, if mental. But BBC often get their predicted formations wrong.

Either that or Manning in holding midfield.

I think it’s good it’s all getting some air time. I’ve thought for ages that gifts in politics is just legalised corruption, and as I’ve referenced before by Ian Hislop at Select Committee: what do you think they’re paying for? It’s not necessarily a Tory/Labour thing, it’s been going on for decades. Previously it would get a bit of press interest but Boris broke the mould a bit, he just had a few pals in the media who egged along the whole “what a cad he is, arf” bollocks and it never got massive traction. Under Starmer it’s now getting more air time in the media and definitely a few on here have sat up and suddenly taken interest, that’s for sure, but I won’t bemoan that. Legalised gifting to those in power is eminently grubby. Edit. And to be clear, one of the bigger reasons I voted Labour this time round was to get rid of the many years of corruption and backhanders enabled by the blue lot in power. I hoped Starmer and his brigade would be better, but it’s a bad start. I think they’ve got many super marathons to go to catch up with the level that the Conservative Party hit, but one shouldn’t go comparison shopping when discussing these things, what’s obviously wrong is, well, obviously wrong. That MPs have managed to write the laws for themselves this way and have said year after year after year “ it’s in the rules” is quite disgusting. -
Not sure if anyone has brought this up before, but I think the BBC could have a point here.

Well done Russell. You got yourself a bumper contract and a girlfriend with massive tits. Can you fuck off now please? (Yes Bad Wolf, I know he won’t, I didn’t mean it literally).

Kemi Badenoch. Same as the previous woman but with better PR. Copyright: Jamie Delldays (many many times)

It’s an absolute shit show of nobodies, a collection of failures. Kemi is absolutely hatstand, I almost hope she gets it for the hilarity. i reckon honest Bob will win it, and what a cunt he is. Ask someone to draw you a Tory and he is it, useless and completely arrogant about it all in the same breath.

Surprised it took her this long, she’s been publicly agitating against the party for ages, well before the election. Im almost surprised she stood as a candidate, I guess this way she got herself a seat and a guaranteed salary for 4 years. Ive long felt that if a candidate switches sides or gives up the whip it should be an automatic bi-election. Not much appetite for it though, I think. -
They got him. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c981g8mrl8lt

Probably. Half of our signings seemed to be made with an eye on next season in the championship so there’s an element of prepping for that. Martin’s career record goals against is quite frankly awful, and not likely to improve much.
-
Tbf that sounds like the likely course, notwithstanding the possibility of a complete bumming at Bournemouth and/or Arsenal hurrying things along somewhat. I’d reckon he needs one win out of the next three to keep going.
-
The format they brought in this season was a farce, letting the the clubs in Europe come in a round later than all others and then get a seeded draw to boot, so pretty much a free pass to the last 16.

He's akin to a scouser: offended by everything, ashamed of nothing. -
Genuinely remarkable how they got it written, printed and delivered to newsagents all over the area within a couple of hours of the game finishing.

Ah that’s a shame. Many years ago I used to know his son Mick, he used to post on here as SonOfBob. RIP.

The really clever part is that you’re one of them 🤣 -
I know you struggle with nuance but seriously pal, stop being so silly.

I see your ability for making things up hasn’t diminished.
