You've just contradicted yourself. You said the way they are playing and attitude now should have been the way we played from the start, indicating a change in play and attitude. Who changed this? JP.

I disagree with this thread. It's not Lowes fault, it's Wildes. Wilde kicked Lowe out and was directly responsible for the over-spending, chaotic management and terrible decisions that have had a direct impact on our clubs stability and future. I do not necessarily like Lowe, but at least he wont make us insolvent. Granted he also wont lead us to greater things, but at least we would have had a future and a club to support in 5 years time if Wilde hadn't kicked him out. Wilde decided he knew better. Wilde decided to put his merry men in charge. Wilde authorised the spending. So Wilde can take the blame for the situation we are in today.

I think that can be proven untrue by the fact that in todays game, at half time, the changes he made and the talk he gave created a massive change in attitude and performance and so far has created 2 goals. And as I type this, we're battering their defence. I'd say that was a perfect example of JP trying something and making a positive change.

Yup. I can't think of many managers that would get more out of this terrible bunch of players. It's the players I've lost confidence in. I think JP is doing the right things and he obviously has a passion for the club, but the players are letting him down.

I found the answer here: http://www.radio-now.co.uk/radio_news.htm Seems as though they stopped broadcasting over DAB in November. Shame, as I don't get a decent FM signal so I'm over to Radio Solent now. Cheerio RH.

By fitness, I really meant being injury prone and having a body that's up to the strains of competitive football. I've no doubt he has the athletic ability to play 90 minutes a week still, but I'm not convinced his body can take it. It certainly seemed not to be the case when at Saints. That said, as an impact player with the experience to guide the younger players, I'd be pleased to see him back. Even having him around to guide and encourage on the training field and from the bench would be useful.

He spoke?

Sums it up perfectly, IMO. When his fitness allowed, he put in some excellent performances for us and had a real impact on many games. Sadly, he was injury prone which limited how effective he could be for us. But he was far from useless. A fully fit Idiakez would be perfect for us right now!

Good replacement for Anderton. The sort of player who can come on as a sub and have a big impact, especially at their level. Good luck to him... and them!

Is anybody else having problems with Radio Hampshire DAB? I've two DAB radios and both are claiming that RH is 'off air' even after a re-tune? Have they stopped broadcasting on DAB? Or are my radios lying to me?

Shouldn't be allowed, utterly disgusting. Enough of this though, I'm off to play the highly rated and much loved GTA4

That's what you want from your defenders though, consistency and solid performances. I don't want them to be performing heroics or trying anything OTT.

He said that in the first interviews he gave after joining us!

Not all young players are as good as each other. You can't just say that one young player is as good as the next, just as you can't say one older player is as good as the next. Age isn't the important factor here. If the players brought in improve the team, that's all that matters. If we were bringing in players that are no better than what we have, I'd agree with you entirely.

Hard to quantify, as it will depend who's the buyer. For somebody who collects these things and has a gap in their collection, the price could be huge. To your average Saints fan, the price could be pittance. As with everything, it's worth whatever somebody is willing to pay. But finding the right buyer could be down to sheer luck.

Fortunately not... not yet, anyway The rules say that you can have a maximum number of 5 loan players in your squad of 16 for a match. Foreign loan players are not included in this, so you could technically have more than 5 loanees if the 6th, 7th etc are foreign loans. As far as I know there is no written limit as to how many loan players you can have at the club at any one time. There are practical limits, of course, as you have to have enough signed-players to make up the rest of the squad. I think the person who called in RH was confusing the rules. He seemed to think we could have a maximum of 5 at the club whereas the truth is we can have as many as we like, but only have 5 in the match day squad.
-
I think he was under the impression we could only have 5 in total at the club at any one time, not 5 in the starting lineup + bench as I understand the rules to say.

Despite the great win and the fact everyone is happy, it's good to see he is still realistic and acknowledges that the wingers 'didn't do it' in the first half. Reading and hearing that should keep them on their toes, knowing that a sub-standard performance wont be lost in the joy of a win.

Point 1 would be great, but seems very unlikely. I'd have expected something more definite by now if somebody serious was out there. Point 2 scares me. I blame Wilde for the mess we're in, he has ruined this club. Him and his stupid decisions have caused our debt and instability and could easily make things a whole lot worse if he starts messing around again.

The next game is JP's biggest test yet, IMO. Up until now the odd bad result has been followed by the odd good result, with the occasional boring well-matched draw thrown in for good measure. This means no real drastic changes have been needed, just the odd change to try and improve things. But now we seem more consistently bad than ever before and are conceding far too much, which is a much harder problem to solve. Now JP really has to pull something out of his arse to solve this problem, moreso than ever before. This is the biggest test yet and if he can manage it, he deserves the job long term. If not, perhaps it's time to move on....?

I don't see it happening. More importantly, I don't see how it would improve the situation unless whoever replaces him has large amounts of cash to invest. If somebody wanted to invest and de-list the club, they would do so regardless of who is at the helm. If they refuse to do so because of Lowe being there, I'm not convinced they are the best idea anyway if they let personalities get in the way of doing the best for the club. Money is our big problem and unless there is a way of changing that, I don't see any way of improving the situation.
-
Exactly... so with that in mind, is anybody else going to do a better job? We can't afford big wages, we can't afford big signings, so we have to make the best of what we have and sadly, the best is going to be very inconsistent. I don't see how any other manager will get better out of this squad, with the exception of actually playing players like Skacel and SJ. If you saw us play and believed that the players were not playing to their potential, blame the manager. But who out there this season could have consistently done any better than they have? When you're at the stage where your players are doing their best and you're still not good enough, yet we can't buy a new team, can you really blame the manager?
-
My sentiments exactly. What we need most, IMO, is a solid defence. We have the creativity, the movement, the skill and if we start playing people like John we even have the strike force to do really well in this league. Then stick someone like Wotton in as a defensive/holding midfielder and everything looks rosey without having to change a single player. BUT... without a solid defence, all that means jack. With Perry and big CB to join him and two solid, experienced fullbacks who know exactly how to out muscle, out jump and out play CCC players, we know that when our 'pretty' players further up the field lose the ball, it's not in forgone conclusion that we're about to concede.

We're going to struggle this afternoon. I have a feeling that Watford are going to kick the crap out of us and we'll struggle to get going and get the ball down and play. 0-2 Watford.
