  1. Why not just start a thread with just 'LOOK AT ME, GIVE ME YOUR ATTENTION' in big letters?
  2. Funny really... So much negativity from people who didn't attend the game. Yet you read the 'just back from the game' comments and it's pretty much all positive. Can't make up my mind who to believe.
  3. You defend from the front... I agree entirely we need two new CB's and I wouldn't for a second argue against it, but I have a feeling our defensive performance will improve with a more solid midfield.
  4. I blame his sponsors....
  5. According to Merrington he has been told Rasiak isn't in a good mental state.. I guess that means he doesn't want to be here and that's affecting his ability to play with commitment and put the required effort in? I think Sagga is more professional and will play regardless, even if he would like to move elsewhere.
  6. How about every other Saturday at St.Marys?
  7. Couldn't agree more. Thomas is a big lump of a guy, but lacks pace and I'm not convinced about his positioning and movement. Good option for cover though. Midfield needs some creativity and somebody to generate attack and movement. Attack needs experience and pace. Could be worse though. We also need some quality in reserve as if we lose any of our starting line up, we have no quality to replace them with.
  8. The ST were pointless, arrogant and desperate for attention when we were a PLC and they were trying to get enough shares to have a voice and oust Lowe. We're no longer a PLC so their only possible justification for existence is no more.

    Rasiak

You can add David McG to that list too. Highest scorer and hated by many.

    Rasiak

My only criticism of Rasiak is his shocking, shocking first touch. He can't trap a ball or do anything useful with it when it gets to him, you just have to hope that when it bounces off of him it goes somewhere useful or somewhere he can get to. That's why he doesn't make a good loan striker IMO. But if you play him off of somebody else, he is very effective. He spends most of the game looking lost but still manages to pounce on the balls put through to him by the other striker. In those situations he is one of the best in L1/CCC.
  11. That will come when KD and his defence have some form of consistency and have played together in competitive matches for some time. Last season the defensive lineup changed a few times, which makes it hard to build good relationships.
  12. This was my initial reaction reading this thread. We shouldn't be looking for one captain, we should be looking for a number of leaders who will naturally lead the team and help motivate and support the rest of the team, simply because it's in their nature to do so. Having 11 of them might be too far, as no doubt differences of opinion will occur, but we certainly need more than one. KD should keep the captains armband IMO, he deserves it, has earned it and should only lose it when he does something to warrant that. Also a captains involvement and leadership is just as important off the pitch as it is on, especially in a difficult season with young players.
  13. If you take young kids, put them in the media, fan and internet spotlight, give them loads of money and plenty of spare time it's only ever going to end one way. Even 'senior' players are still young really, yet at early-30's they are considered old. If you consider this and then think back over our past few managers it's no wonder we've suffered so much. When your manager comes to work with egg on his shirt... or your manager comes to work with alcohol on his breath... or your manager is simply not experienced enough to know how to deal with this situation... what chance do you have of your players respecting and fearing you?
  14. Agreed... we need footballing people making the football decisions and business people making the business decisions. But the first rule of successful business is putting the right people in the right positions and trusting them to do their job. You don't become a billionaire without knowing how to run a business and without being a good judge of character, so I've every faith that ML will put the right people in the right job. AP seems to be a perfect example of this. ML also seems to know exactly how he is going to manage this club. Right from the start he has kept out of the press, got on and done what he needs to do and has done it in his own way. Long may this continue!
  15. Unexpected, but good appointment. Good history, proven success and a respected name. Who's up for a round of Happy Birthday at Ajax tomorrow then?
  16. RobM

    so the ajax game.

Bought my tickets today I think there may be a couple of announcements at this game so don't want to miss the action!
  17. Sarcasm or serious? I've not yet decided if I want to sign up to it again. The decision I guess will be based on the live coverage and commentary of games, which was the main reason for doing so before. With RH now dead and buried and not being able to get Solent reliably, I'm pretty stuck for coverage when I can't get to games.
  18. Cheerio then. Went missing for huge parts of last season and showed little effort at times. It seemed to me that when things were going well he was superb... when the going got tough he went missing.
  19. There should be a 'Don't care / Not bothered' option. But... I voted yes. It's another income stream and it gives fans something to buy into even if they can't afford or justify a season ticket.
  20. Wotte should stay as long as he remains professional and delivers good results. If it becomes clear he is not up to the job with the resources he now has available to him, then he should be replaced. But that doesn't mean he should be sacked without being given a chance. Nor does it mean that one or two bad results justify a sacking.
  21. Her and Lucy Pinder together please....
  22. 816 users and the forum grinds to a halt.... pathetic.
  23. How do you get either a or b, without starting with a and learning b? How many people are born with both? Everyone has to start somewhere.
  24. Nothing at all... Right now somebody could be on the phone with Fry doing exactly that and Pinnacle wouldn't be able to stop it. The only thing that may prevent it is honour and goodwill from Fry's part, but there is little room for that in business.
