People take the internet too seriously. It's funny. Even funnier watching people get wound up over things that really don't matter. Good fun, keep it up
-
Same problem, only I've got a customer number so can't get the two I need
-
Sadly, idiots in the opposition crowds know this and know it's a direct way to get a reaction Some of our fans don't have the intelligence to not react.
-
I'd be the same, absolutely the same if I'd invested millions. However, I'm not a successful, international and very well respected businessman so I suspect my reaction would not be the same as somebody who is. Cortese wouldn't be where he is now if he made, changed and scrapped plans depending on his mood. If he is, I dare say we are in trouble.
-
So no, then. No links. Just assumptions. Shame as I'm happy to admit I'm wrong if there were a link, reading, statement or something similar. But Pardew admitting he is under pressure is no surprise, he is a football manager in a team hoping for success. And Cortese's statement said the league was the priority, which we all agree with. Nothing new there, I don't think any manager, director, owner or otherwise would say the cup comes as a higher priority. Doesn't mean they don't want success in it though. If I were in his shoes and I were asked what the priority is, even knowing the five year plan was very much valid, I'd still say the league was the priority.

I'd love to see this, any links?

It's not my plan, it's the owners plan. It was well documented, discussed and common knowledge back around the takeover. Ignoring it doesn't make it any less true.

Says the man who can't understand the simple concept of scoring more goals than the opposition wins games.
-
Ok, we played worse than them on the day? The team who scores the most goals win, it's a simple concept. If they score more goals than us they win. I absolutely agree. But my point is we will lose games, sometimes against teams better than us, sometimes against teams worse than us. Just like we beat Man Utd many times back in the Prem days, but still couldn't be classed as a better team, other teams will beat us who aren't classed as better. We have toughed out some results this season, we have turned teams over and we have dropped points when we shouldn't have done. But overall our form is good, we pick up more points than we drop and we are moving in the right direction. For year one of a five year plan we are doing damn well. I'm sorry I don't see things as being as bad as you do.
-
They played better than us on the day. Tell me how many clubs in the last, let's say 10 years, have gone an entire season unbeaten? Do you expect Saints to not lose a game all season, every season?
-
You've changed your tune. Previously you were posting that 10 games is around the time it takes to settle, now that's a stupid idea.
-
An attack? Or a case of 'if the shoe fits'?
-
It's not just a case of being poor, but those first 10 games were our preseason. We were massively behind because, in case you were asleep during it, we didn't have a club to support. So during those first 10 games the competition were already playing as a team, while we were only just a team.
-
I think it was a fluke just for you eric, since it cut out around the time this post was created and wasn't consistently back again until after the second half had started. It's the same most weeks.
-
Given this is his first season, we had very little pre-season and we haven't had what AP would call 'his' team until January, I'd say he was doing very well. We have been moving consistently up the league, playing well and picking up points more often than losing them. We nor any other team are likely to go an entire season unbeaten. We will lose games. But as long as progress is being made, it doesn't really matter. And this is year one of a five year plan. Not AP's five year plan, but the boards five year plan. If they go back on that now they will risk not getting as higher profile manager next as we could do, as it sends a clear message of impatience.

Millwalls equaliser means we stay 10th, rather than dropping to 11th

I'd like to ask 'Do you take any notice of the nonsense posted on internet forums?'
-
Yup, just cut off. Jokers.

I've said it many times before and I'll keep on saying it... Before the start of this season the vast, vast majority of fans and certainly users of this forum were of the same opinion, that we are lucky to have a club, we will take a season to rebuild and then push for promotion to the CCC in season two. We all said anything out of the relegation zone was an achievement and mid-table would be great. Yet suddenly those same people have changed their opinion and are questioning AP because we're not likely to hit the playoffs this season. Look at the Blue Few down the road and think back a season as a reminder of where we were and how far we have come. If it takes two seasons to get promoted, as we all expected and hoped, we should be delighted.
-
Did anybody notice the news article about this when they logged in? Just said they are aware and are working on it.
-
We all want playoffs this season. Nobody would not want playoffs this season. But not getting them shouldn't be deemed a failure, in fact, it could be deemed a success that we're pushing so close to them in the season that was supposed to be about rebuilding and consolidation. AP deserves huge respect and support. His signings have been very astute and performances are getting better and better, especially now 'his' team is in shape. Let's judge AP at Christmas. We will have had a full season, plus a pre-season and the start of next season and if we're not flying high then, that's the time to re-evaluate the situation.

It didn't help that our fans were on Fullers back the entire time he was here. He had the boo boys on his back all the time, on and off the pitch. I remember an interview with him post-match, after being boo'd at the start of a game then bagging a couple of goals. He look utterly fed up and just said he was 'working his ******** off' to do well and would see what happens. He left shortly afterwards.

They do admit they were lucky though, or at least hint to it... They admit "...for more than an hour a shock looked like a distinct possibility." They admit David James was the only reason they remained in the game. They even admit "...Pompey held on" But still claim it was easy. Not very clever, are they
-
What's the betting he ends up at Pompey one day and those comments come back to haunt him...
-
How do you know he isn't telling them he expects them to win? Perhaps what he says to the cameras and what he says to his players aren't the same? Or do you know for a fact this isn't the case?
