  1. I agree, Harding is very reactionary, which often means he is too late and needs to dive or slide in. Fox reads the game better and has a calmer head.
  2. Absolutely. Warnock is getting grief for saying 'Can't f'ing believe you won that'. I'd be willing to bet many if not most Saints fans came away thinking 'Can't f'ing believe we wont that'. For the record, I can't f'ing believe we wont that.
  3. There was an atmosphere?
  4. They are doing very well, but I'm not convinced they have the legs to keep this performance level up for the rest of the season. We've seen a few teams go on an excellent promotion-form run (Derby first, Brighton, Middlesborough, Birmingham, now Reading), but only us and West Ham have consistently been in and around the top two all season.
  5. Loved the less than subtle 'helping hand' comment

This. We've seen some superb saves, some excellent performance, but nothing like that.
  7. If he really is as good as people say, he will be useful to have around the training ground if nothing else. If he then has a chance to play for us, it's another hopefully decent option to have. My only concern is introducing new players into the team and into our playing style at this stage in the season.
  8. I do agree with your point, it is entirely fair and reasonable to not be happy with the entertainment you've paid for. But I don't think it's fair to say the performance was below-average, as it wasn't. The performance was exactly what the players were asked to do, how they were asked to do it and it achieve the right result. To perform is to execute a certain task or set of tasks, they did that extremely well. But as an attractive form of entertainment, it wasn't good at all, which you have every right to say and be unhappy about if entertainment is your priority.
  9. I think you've missed the point here - that was deliberate. NA said as much both before and after the game. He's said we have proven time and time again that we can play attractive football, but there is a time and a place for a different style as winning games of football is what counts. Today was that day. Get the ball forward, be physical, get the win regardless of how pretty it is. So to criticise the team for doing exactly what they were asked to do, when that plan clearly worked exceptionally well, seems crazy.
  10. Great to see Lee start! Really pleased for him. Looks a strong line-up and no Harding, which is pleasing.
  11. Today, I wouldn't worry about him. Back when he left us, I think we should have paid the price to sign him. Although inconsistent, we all saw his raw talent and ability and he performed well more times than not. I'm sure he would have improved with us too. But we've moved on
  12. I share that sympathy for Coventry, that could have so easily have been us if the deal went ahead. I'd like to see them survive and get back on foot, they can easily be a solid NPC club. For me, it's Pompey, Donny and Forest. Although I'd happily swap Forest for Millwall to put them back in their box, but I think they have enough about them to stay up, just.
  13. Lees goal looked better in real life than it did in that clip, IMO! I was fortunate enough to be behind him in the crowd and it really was a remarkable goal. The clip makes it look like he hammered it home, when in fact it was far more controlled and skillful with great a great curve on it. He hit the one and only place on goal where it stood even the tiniest chance of going in. Otherwise, a bloody good game that made the cold and miserable rain well worth sitting through! Sharp looked very good, but not amazing. The threat he posed was a bit too close to Rickie, in that his positioning, movement and ability to pull the defender well out of position caused Derby all sorts of problems. Combined with a couple of moments where he was in the right place at the right time, plus one strike made out of nothing (a lovely twist, turn, shoot) that went just wide, it was a decent performance. But when Lee came on it changed things for the better, his constant chasing, endless energy, brilliant touches and lay-offs (even with his chest!) made it a very different attacking threat in the second half. Lallana was superb, really at his best today. Harding was poor, just poor. Reckless at times too, with stupid backpasses putting Kelvin under threat. Kelvin was outstanding, he nullified any chance Derby had. Morgan had a simple and very effective game, he is certainly at his best when we're playing well as a team. Martin did very well when he came on and delighted for him to get his first goal. So all-in-all a really good result, a very good performance and exactly what we needed! Top marks to the crowd today too, lead by the voices in the Northam as always but everyone joined in today! Funny moment of the day goes to the 'Kelvin cant count' chant, albeit a bit harsh as he really did have to concentrate when you Northamers were asking for the score!
  14. Wow. Just wow. Hard to judge Falque on what we've seen of him, but he wouldn't have come here to not even make the bench I'm sure! But without cup games, I just don't see where he will get his chance to play, we're not in the position to blood new players when we have our own players, who all have more experience of playing for Saints, on the bench as well.
  15. The Premier-Ship. I'll get my coat.
  16. Sounds like Green saved the game for them. I've mixed feelings... I would have taken a point before the game, it's a good point. But with a one-man advantage, with the number of attacking options we had on the pitch, with the chances we created, I can't help but think this is a game we should have won.
  17. I slipped into a trance staring at this... have we scored?
  18. Better quote this to get Page 15 along soon then!
  19. Lee I hope, his movement when we have the extra man might be useful.
  20. Sharp is about as fat as Rickie. And that was an OG, it's quite obviously clear on Saints Player that it dips under Sharps foot, bounces, hits the defenders knee and goes in. How you could miss that 1000 times I don't know... should've gone to Specsavers.
  21. Agree entirely, I think that's also why Punch wasn't started yesterday. I am a fan of Guly (at RM), but suspect he is a bit too lightweight for this game and after a few swift kicks in the ankle may go missing. Similar story with Morgan, his play is more pretty and technical than the more direct Hammond, which IMO makes Hammond better suited to this game. Really what we need is our tallest players though, given we'll just watch the ball float over the top of our midfield for every WHU attack.
  22. Fantastic optimism, so if we beat West Ham on Tuesday we've won the league. Good times, the players will welcome the break for the rest of the season I'm sure, knowing they don't have to do anything else.

    Saints Player

There is a contact us link on the site itself, near the bottom of the page I think. The problem is there is a volume control on the player controls, but you can't use it, clicking each 'bar' of volume does nothing.

Yes, it is very low compared to other sources. Comparing Solent via the iPlayer and via Saints Player for the cup game recently showed quite how much quieter Saints Player is.
